Chapter 10 - Chapter 9 New Identity

At this moment, Li Feng, dressed in his clothes, sat in a chair, looking at the lottery interface. As the slot machine spun again, Li Feng's heart rose to his throat.

Soon, the slot machine stopped spinning, and three lottery items appeared before his eyes:

"Ability: Elite Melee Skill"

"Mod: Corvo's Folding Blade from Dishonored"

"Item: A 'rosary beads' representing the status of an Imperial noble. Besides showcasing your identity, it also functions as an energy shield."

A rosary beads and the folding short sword from Dishonored immediately appeared before Li Feng. Li Feng reached out and picked it up, subconsciously twisting the handle, and the blade sprang out from within... Was this "Elite Melee Skill"? Li Feng kept twirling the knife, retracting and extending the blade. He could feel that if it were his former self, playing with it like this would have probably resulted in his fingers being cut off by now.

As the door was knocked, Li Feng put away the knife, and then Commissar Cain pushed open the door and walked in... He looked at Li Feng's previously tattered clothes, now brand new again. Cain merely frowned, then said:

"Li Feng, we are about to evacuate from this planet. You can prepare. Once we are on the ship, we will help you contact Holy Terra."

Saying this, Cain brought out a military uniform and a brand new dog tag. The uniform was of the Valhalla style.

Then Cain continued, "Because the fleet does not allow non-military personnel on board, Colonel Lao Mo and I have temporarily assigned you to the 12th Valhalla Field Artillery Regiment. Your current position is orderly. Normally, you just follow the Soldiers to clean up."

Saying this, Cain handed the clothes to Li Feng. Li Feng looked at the "one pip, one bar" on it and knew that his identity had now become "second lieutenant Li Feng."

"Come on, try it on and see if it fits. I picked it up from logistics."

Saying this, Li Feng first picked up the dog tag, representing his Astra Militarum identity, and put it around his neck. Then he took out the rosary beads from his pocket and also put it around his neck... When Li Feng took out the rosary beads, Cain's expression turned to stone... Cain now wondered what kind of big shot was standing in front of him... (Hey! Look at this! An Old Terra big shot is a big shot!)

Cain had been at the Schola Progenium for many years, and besides the Inquisitor who had lectured there and the headmaster of the Schola Progenium, he had never seen anyone carry such an impressive item.

Li Feng didn't notice Cain's expression and put on the military uniform jacket. As for the thick cotton coat with a distinct Valhalla style, Li Feng simply put it aside. After all, wearing a cotton coat in the desert would be crazy.

"Not bad... it fits well..." Cain's voice trembled; he clearly hadn't recovered from the shock of the rosary beads. Li Feng simply put the rosary beads and dog tag inside his clothes.

At this moment, Li Feng looked like a young military officer fresh out of the academy. He wore the Valhalla officer's uniform, a full set of AVS armor, and a silver-white classical revolver and a "knife handle" on his waist... As the Kofaya Fleet gradually docked in the Dislathia system, Soldiers stood in neat formation at the Starport, awaiting the arrival of the transport ships.

Many Soldiers of the 12th Valhalla Field Artillery Regiment saw Li Feng in his military uniform and had no objections. After all, what could be better than having another strong man by their side? Moreover, he saved their people, so he was one of them.

At this moment, Li Feng, like "Grandma Liu visiting the Grand View Garden," kept looking up and down, observing the vast, sky-obscuring fleet of starships above and the countless cannons and armored vehicles on the ground.

The shock Li Feng felt now was no less than observing a military parade up close, with countless massive starships, known as "conquerors of stars and seas," overhead.

Soon, a huge transport ship descended from above, arriving at the helipad where Li Feng and the others were. The Soldiers began to line up neatly, carrying their gear and heading towards the transport ship.

Imperial Navy Soldiers disembarking from the ship were checking identities one by one with a roster... As one Soldier approached Li Feng, he glanced at Li Feng's collar and shoulder insignia, then said:

"Officer, may I have your name and rank?"

"Li Feng, 12th Valhalla Field Artillery Regiment, orderly."

Upon hearing this, the Soldier began searching for Li Feng's data on his data pad, while saying, "Officer, but your appearance and accent... don't seem to be from Valhalla."

Indeed, Valhallans were actually more like Finns and Eastern European Slavs, and Li Feng, with his somewhat Chogoris appearance, was now quite different from them. Moreover, Li Feng's Low Gothic (English) was American slang with a Chinese accent.

(Regarding High Gothic and Low Gothic, the widespread community consensus is that High Gothic is Latin, and Low Gothic is English. Here, I've slightly changed it so that High Gothic is Chinese or Latin, and Low Gothic remains the same.)

Li Feng heard this question. He glanced at the Soldier's shoulder insignia opposite him—a corporal. If he chickened out now, he would be an idiot.

So Li Feng's tone immediately became like that of a dubbed film from an old era, speaking with the accent of a German officer in "Liberation," dubbed by the Northeast Film Studio:

"Are you questioning me, Soldier?"

Hearing Li Feng's authoritative tone, the Navy Soldier started sweating. Although the Imperial Navy and Imperial Army were independent of each other, the difference in status between an officer and a Soldier was still significant.

"Uh, Officer... No, I just found your accent a bit strange."

At this moment, a Navy officer in the distance noticed the situation here. Li Feng felt that the current situation was increasingly resembling the scene in "Inglourious Basterds" where British officers infiltrated in disguise, only to be discovered by the German Gestapo because of their accents.

Just as the officer was getting closer and Li Feng was brainstorming countermeasures, a familiar voice rang out... "Soldier, second lieutenant Li Feng was transferred from Holy Terra."

That's right, Commissar Cain! He came to the rescue! But the Navy officer also arrived at the same time and asked:

"What's going on?"

The Navy Soldier was about to speak, but Cain preempted him, saying, "second lieutenant Li Feng is an officer transferred from Holy Terra. We are having a friendly discussion due to his accent and appearance."

Hearing Cain's words, the Navy officer also nodded. After all, if a Commissar said so, what else could he say? So he patted the Soldier on the shoulder and said,

"Hurry up, there are many more people waiting to board."

As Li Feng passed the identity check and stepped onto the transport ship's deck, he let out a long sigh of relief... Thanks to Commissar Cain! Our Little Treasure Kai!

Soon, as the transport ship was fully loaded, its engines started and it lifted off. Li Feng sat in his chair, feeling the immense upward force... Then... the desert world outside the window grew further and further away, and the black starry sky gradually appeared outside the window.

Numerous warships appeared in orbit, each one a colossal behemoth... As the transport ship docked with the large amphibious troop carrier, the airtight door hissed, and the hatch slowly opened... Li Feng saw the scene inside and instinctively... "Wow..."

Just like in a space movie, inside the massive hangar, countless transport ships were docked again, countless Soldiers were marching in formation in different directions, and cannons, tanks, and weapons were parked inside the hangar. Tech-Priests in red robes were conducting inspections.

Li Feng now was like a child visiting an amusement park for the first time, wanting to see everything... Just a few steps in, a cold hand rested on his shoulder, followed by a mechanical voice... "Your weapons and equipment do not comply with the sacred omnissiah's codex and the Imperial Munitorum's codex..."

Li Feng turned around and saw an Oil Man pointing at Li Feng's revolver and folding knife.

Li Feng had already prepared an excuse for this and said, "These two weapons are ancestral weapons of my family, 100% human-made!"

The Oil Man, without Li Feng's permission, drew the two weapons from Li Feng's waist... Li Feng was about to stop him, but then he heard the Oil Man say:

"Identified as... manufactured during the Dark Age of Technology of Old Terra... no threat... Officer, we need to scan and bless them, please follow us..."

Saying this, Li Feng followed the Oil Man with his bag to an Adeptus Mechanicus workshop. The moment he stepped inside, Li Feng was all too familiar with the smell, just like a car repair shop.

He saw the Priest scan the two weapons with an instrument, and the structure and blueprints of the two weapons instantly appeared on a green screen beside him.

Then the Tech-Priest used a laser engraver to carve the imperial aquila and gear symbol onto the revolver grip and the folding knife grip... Li Feng thought it was over and he could leave, but then he saw several Tech-Priests, holding incense and oil, begin to perform a ritual over the two weapons, chanting:

"11100110 10101100 10100111 11100101 10100111 10000110 11100101 10111100 10100101 11100110 10010010 10010010 11100100 10111010 10011010 11100101 10011100 10101000 11100100 10111000 10001010 00100001"

(The above translates to "omnissiah Above")

Li Feng now understood why the Adeptus Mechanicus were the most unpopular people within the Imperium of Man in the warhammer world... Watching these people "perform their rituals," Li Feng really wanted to go up and hit them.
