Chapter 42 - Chapter 41 Jürgen: That woman knocked the political commissar to the ground...

The commercial center of Kofia was brightly lit, bustling with crowds, and peace seemed to have returned to this planet that had experienced turmoil.

However, Li Feng's mood was not light. It had been several days since he last saw Fides, after she confessed to him that night.

These past few days, Li Feng had been busy preparing for the upcoming Frax expeditionary campaign. As a major, and with Commissar Cain having been taken by a woman, Li Feng was handling a lot of the work.

Li Feng sat in the commercial center's plaza, surrounded by various shops and stalls. People strolled through the streets, enjoying this rare period of calm.

Li Feng now finally understood why American officers in World War II always loved running off to Paris: it's easy to go from frugality to luxury, but hard to go from luxury to frugality! With warm rooms, soft beds, delicious meals, and even afternoon tea. Li Feng was just short of carrying a cage of birds or a cricket jar.

The air was filled with the scent of spices and roasted meat, making one momentarily forget the cruelty of interstellar war. Li Feng sipped hot milk tea. He had just finished a bowl of borscht and a baguette from the coffee shop. His gaze, however, was unfocused, as if lost in thought.

Did he really break her heart...? But he was a married man; he had to uphold masculine virtues! He wasn't afraid of his wife! How could he be afraid of his wife! Sanguinius... that was called respecting his wife.

Li Feng felt he should go talk to Fides properly in a few days, clear things up, and do some serious ideological work.

Although the Imperium of Man didn't have a 'monogamy' rule... if Sanguinius agreed... Li Feng felt he hadn't arrived in the Warhammer world, but rather a six-sided world, and he was an overpowered Rudeus.

Suddenly, a figure on the street caught Li Feng's attention: a two-meter tall man in military uniform, furtively holding an artillery telescope, standing at a street corner, seemingly scouting something.

The people around him seemed to want to keep their distance; his surroundings were like an invisible isolation shield, separating him from the noisy and lively world.

Li Feng downed his milk tea, pulled a throne gelt from his pocket, placed it on the table, and stood up to gather his things.

"Waiter, the money's here. Keep the change, it's your tip."

Li Feng said, putting on the officer's greatcoat he had custom-made in Kofia. Walking down the street now, he looked like a German officer stationed in Paris, except he didn't like wearing the officer's peaked cap or Valhalla's fur cap. He had customized a sky-blue beret (VDV) with the imperial emblem.

He slowly walked behind the tall man and patted his shoulder... "Yugen, what are you doing?"

With his shoulder suddenly patted, Yugen immediately reacted reflexively, quickly turning around and grabbing Li Feng's hand, about to perform a counter-grapple. But when he realized it was Li Feng, he immediately stood at attention and saluted.

"Major, I didn't know you were here."

"I didn't expect you to be here either. By the way, what are you doing? Creeping around with a telescope."

At this moment, Yugen's expression was a bit troubled, but he still pointed Li Feng to the place he had just been observing. Li Feng took the telescope from Yugen's hand and looked in that direction.

It was two familiar figures, Commissar Cain and Sheriff Vinita... but Commissar Cain looked a bit off... he was completely emaciated, and the Political Commissar uniform that used to fit him snugly was now somewhat loose.

"Ho! Good heavens! Thirty like a wolf, forty like a tiger! I didn't expect Sheriff Vinita to be so fierce at thirty-five! What if she reaches forty!"

At this moment, Venita was pulling a weary Commissar Cain, shopping. The two walked to the entrance of a hotel. It seemed Sheriff Vinita wanted to go in and rest, but Commissar Cain waved his hand in refusal... Suddenly, Venita stepped forward and punched Cain in the stomach. The force of the punch made Cain clutch his stomach and squat on the ground. Then Venita hooked Cain's neck and forcibly dragged him into the hotel... As Li Feng watched, Yugen's thick palm suddenly patted Li Feng's shoulder back and forth, as if very anxious, saying:

"Major! This is bad! That woman knocked the Political Commissar to the ground! She's going to drag him back to be an X-slave!"

Li Feng immediately looked up, jumped up, and slapped Yugen on the head:

"Damn it, Yugen! What's with that imagination? Do you think Commissar Cain, an imperial hero, would be defeated by a woman?!"

Li Feng threw the telescope back to Yugen, then pulled out his radio from his waist and said:

"This is Ishmael, calling central."

Soon, Adjutant Divas's voice came through:

"Ishmael, this is Boxer, call received, please speak."

"Call two medics with medical kits to the commercial center's... Red... Endless Hotel. Sergeant Yugen will wait for them here. Commissar Cain has encountered a 'public grain' problem, and there may be casualties."

At this moment, a burst of wild laughter from a group of burly men came from the radio's background, then Divas's stifled voice replied:

"Received... Ishmael... medical support is on the way, arriving shortly... Hahahahahahaha! brothers, this is too awesome..."

Just as Li Feng was about to bid farewell to Yugen and head to a nearby restaurant for shawarma... Shawarma, oh shawarma, oh shawarma. With you, life is good, no worries.

Li Feng hummed a little tune, just turning around: "Shawarma legend, wonderfully amazing..."

"Hello, are you Major Li Feng?"

Li Feng saw two large chunks of metal standing in front of him. Do metals talk these days? The next second, Li Feng looked up and saw two massive Space Marine standing before him, looking down at him.

"Uh... I am, may I ask?"

"We are warriors of the Claws of the Stars. Our Chapter Master Huron invites you for a talk. Would it be convenient for you to come with us?"

What did Huron want with him? Li Feng wondered. Was he planning to rebel and use him as a sacrificial flag? But why kill him? Not to mention that he couldn't be killed, and Commissar Cain was so weak; it would be better to kill an imperial hero as a sacrificial flag.

"Well, I..."

"Alright, we'll take you to the Starport right now!"

The two Space Marine each grabbed one of Li Feng's arms, lifted him up, and walked away. Li Feng looked back helplessly. Someone was still standing there, watching him leave... "Yugen... Yugen... Yugen, my man!"

Yugen showed a look of pity, then shrugged, spreading his hands as if to say, "Do you think I can beat them?"
