Everyone has had the potential of magic since birth, the potential which ordinary people possess only lets them be capable of basic magic. In such exists witches, they are people who have potential highly greater than ordinary people, they can cast what ordinary people call greater magic, potential is not enough to be good at Magic. Witches are respected and treated as higher beings, but it wasn't always like this. About 1000 years ago, when witches didn't have the respect they have now, when they were considered monsters because of their unusually high potentials and because of how their bodies had evolved to be more sturdy and live longer. There existed a King with an advisor extremely sensitive to magic, to the point he could gauge someone's true potential. The King wanted power to attain GODHOOD, he used his advisor to track and hunt Witches. He trapped them and ran experiments after experiments on them to steal not only their power but their potential too, it's said he had succeeded but was too late as he was defeated before he could use it to reach Godhood. The Witches who refused to give in banded together and formed the First Council of witches. They used normal people to reach the King and take the advisor away, then they ambushed the King and fought a great battle which resulted in all of the Kings research to be lost in ruins along with all his experiments or monsters. After winning the Witches established their rule over the entire Kingdom, and turned it into a Country with a working government. The 11 witches who started the council became Royalty the founder. The future descendents of the Witches and founders developed abilities independent of their potential. The Council held elections every 10 years. In this World the witches are mostly Female with male witches being extremely rare, one of the 11 founding members of the council being a male, he was also the weakest of the founder.
Now, in the present let's focus on a girl, she's the middle child of her 3 siblings and a member of one of the strongest founding families, *The Ariv's* but she has *no magic potential* unlike the other members of her family who are blessed with potential. Over the other side of the country in the slums exists a Boy he's born with more potential than his body can handle. He can't use magic because he has too much, she can't because she has none.
