"Hiss!"
As if waking from a nightmare, Lucien jolted upright in a narrow alley, his breath sharp and ragged. He looked around quickly, taking in the surroundings—brick walls, shadows, faint sunlight cutting through the gap above.
"Did I… successfully cross over?" he muttered, his voice low.
His body was intact, his gear untouched. The dozen gold coins and the ruby-and-sapphire dagger he carried were still secured at his waist. Outside the alley came the distant murmur of crowds—lively and busy.
"Damn it," he cursed under his breath. "A random crossing wasted just like that." He hadn't expected Koushirou to discover him so quickly. There had been no time to escape properly.
Still, stabbing Zoro at the last second wasn't a complete failure. He'd left his mark—and possibly bought himself time.
Lucien raised his hand, summoning the faint shimmering light of his system interface.
[ Arrived in a new world.
Reward: +1 Dice Roll.
Dice rewards reset every natural month. ]
[ Ongoing Mission: Hunt 'Sons of Destiny', 'Destined Villains', 'Transmigrators', 'Reincarnators', and 'Reborn Individuals'.
Each successful hunt grants +4 Dice Rolls.
Important Supporting Characters or Villain Support Characters may also grant Dice Rolls depending on circumstances. ]
[ Randomly increase Luck. ]
Lucien's expression darkened as he read. So Zoro was still alive.
If Zoro had died, the system would've displayed something like:
[ Successfully hunted Roronoa Zoro, an Important Supporting Character from the One Piece World.
Reward: +3 Dice Rolls.
Luck +1. ]
He exhaled sharply. "Tch. Figures."
Entering a new world only gave him one Dice Roll—far less than the four from the first world. Worse, the monthly reward timer had reset.
"So it recalculates from this moment," he murmured, narrowing his eyes. "Fine."
He flipped the interface to the next page. A bloody red countdown glowed faintly.
[ Remaining Life: 3 months, 5 days. ]
"Still the same…" Lucien sighed in relief. "At least the timer wasn't affected." He wasn't dead yet.
[ Roll the Dice? ]
"Yeah. Let's get this over with."
He tapped the option, and a spectral Dice began spinning, flashing white and red as it rattled across the invisible board. Finally, it stopped. Three points.
The model marker advanced three spaces before the light faded, and a notification appeared.
[ Reward Obtained: One of the Six Forms – Moonwalk (Geppo) ]
[ Description: Moonwalk (Geppo) is one of the Rokushiki techniques used by CP9. By kicking off the air with immense leg strength, the user can propel themselves skyward, moving freely as if walking in the air. Requires mastery of Soru as a prerequisite. ]
"Do you wish to learn?"
Lucien grinned. "Obviously. Yes."
A sudden wave of energy surged through him. His body convulsed briefly as the technique's knowledge burned into his mind—stances, breathing rhythm, muscle control—all of it.
When it passed, he stood still, flexing his legs slightly.
"Just knowledge and theory, huh?" he muttered. "Looks like I'll need to train it myself."
Moonwalk was only an extension of Soru, so it made sense he'd need to master Soru first. Currently, he could perform eight kicks per second—two short of the required ten.
"If I can finish mastering Soru, Moonwalk will come naturally," he said, confidence glinting in his eyes.
He closed the system window.
"First, let's figure out what world I've landed in," Lucien said. "Then, find somewhere safe to stay. Within three months, I'll master Soru and Geppo… and find a way to cure my illness or extend my life."
He stepped out of the alley. Instantly, the sounds of life flooded in—vendors shouting, horses clattering down cobblestone, and the murmur of people bartering.
But what truly caught his attention was the massive wall that towered above the horizon, easily fifty meters tall. Its sheer scale cast a shadow over the bustling town.
"The hell…?" Lucien muttered, eyes narrowing.
The streets were lined with stone buildings and tiled roofs, the architecture distinctly medieval European. The people wore simple, old-fashioned clothing. Soldiers in brown jackets and vertical harnesses patrolled the roads, their insignia marking them as part of the Garrison Regiment.
Lucien's heartbeat quickened. Medieval setting. Giant walls. Military patrols.
There was only one world that fit that description.
"Attack on Titan…" he breathed.
He knew this anime. One of the most brutal, tragic masterpieces ever created—banned in multiple regions for its violence and despair. The kind of story that defined "dark fantasy."
"Perfect," Lucien whispered. "A world built on death and survival. Just my kind of playground."
He closed his eyes briefly, recalling the lore. Over two thousand years ago, Ymir Fritz, a slave of the Eldian King, had stumbled upon a strange, spine-like creature within the roots of an ancient tree. That contact had given her the power of the Titans.
With that power, she built the Eldian Empire, conquered nations, and bore three daughters—Maria, Rose, and Sina. But after Ymir's death, the King ordered her daughters to devour her body, dividing her strength among them. Generations later, her descendants inherited that power, forming the Nine Titans—the Founding Titan, Attack Titan, Female Titan, Colossal Titan, Armored Titan, Jaw Titan, Beast Titan, Cart Titan, and War Hammer Titan.
The rest—the countless, mindless ones—were the Pure Titans, born from those injected with Titan spinal fluid.
Lucien remembered every detail. Titans had extreme regenerative capabilities, immense strength, and resilience that bordered on immortality. Even if decapitated, their bodies could regenerate in minutes unless struck at the nape—their sole weakness.
He smirked slightly. "Regeneration, vitality, extended life… maybe this world isn't such bad luck after all."
Both Intelligent Titans and Pure Titans possessed unparalleled longevity. The Intelligent ones had a 13-year lifespan, but the Pure Titans—mindless though they were—could exist for centuries.
"If I could become an Intelligent Titan," Lucien mused, "thirteen more years would be worth it."
The problem was only Eldians—descendants of Ymir—could become Titans.
He summoned his interface again. A small vial materialized in front of him, filled with faintly glowing liquid. The label shimmered:
[ Ymir's Bloodline Potion – Half Bloodline Conversion (Hybrid Type) ]
He smirked. "Good thing I didn't waste this."
It was a reward obtained after killing Vinsmoke Sanji in the previous world—a genetic potion that granted half of Ymir's bloodline. That meant he could become a hybrid—half-human, half-Eldian—and therefore, capable of Titan transformation.
"Now I just need to figure out the timeline," he muttered, pocketing the vial. "Have Reiner and Bertholdt destroyed Wall Maria yet? Has Eren awakened his power?"
If not, he still had time to prepare. If yes, chaos was already unfolding.
Either way, his next goal was clear—acquire Titan spinal fluid, then hunt down one of the Intelligent Titans: Eren, Reiner, Bertholdt, Annie, or Ymir.
A grim smile tugged at his lips. "Ymir again… though not the same one."
Touching the dagger at his belt, Lucien felt the cold metal against his palm. The embedded gems glittered faintly in the light.
He also checked the gold coins—they gleamed with that unmistakable One Piece minting. "Hmm. So, the items came through with me," he mused. "Which means…"
His eyes widened. "I can carry things across worlds." The realization sent a thrill through him.
If he could transfer gear, weapons, and treasures between worlds, his potential would skyrocket.
But then he frowned. "No way it's that generous… The system must have a limit." Still, he'd test it later.
For now, he needed to blend in—and earn Berries, or rather, this world's currency.
The people here weren't rich. Ordinary citizens relied on trade and manual labor. If he wanted real value for his dagger and coins, he'd have to head for Wall Sina, the innermost city where nobles, merchants, and the wealthy resided.
"Maria, Rose, and Sina," Lucien muttered, recalling the order. "Three walls. Three stages of survival."
He ran a hand through his hair, glancing back at the massive structure looming above the rooftops. "Guess I'm starting from the bottom."
With that, Lucien stepped into the crowd, vanishing among the noise of the marketplace.
