Chapter 7 - Ch. 6: My Daughter's Request

Alice POV

A few days passed, my mother who found out that I had passed out because of a public knowledge book, that book she confiscated made me unable to study it anymore.

Indeed, on the one hand I feel relieved. But on the other hand, I can't calm down until I enlarging my mana so I won't be as weak as I am in the future.

Not only was the book being held by my mother, I was even obliged to help her sew, tidy up, clean the room, and study the books that I should have learned.

Honestly, it's like insulting my grown-up to learn a book about kids that doesn't suit me.

"Keep doing it like that, sweetheart. I'm going to help Anna dry her clothes."

"Yes."

While my mother was away, I sneaked out of her room to the library while there was no one here because everyone was busy in the morning before noon, allowing me to move freely.

Entering the library room once more, Alice tries to search for a book about the common knowledge read beforehand hoping she finds it again.

Because if she doesn't find it, she can't calm down until she understands everything in the book other than what she can keep it all in her mind for future use.

"....."

Not far from Alice, a small white classic bob-haired girl, Eri, looks into Alicia's eyes, who is busy looking for books on the shelf without realizing that Eri is upstairs sitting by the window looking at her.

"Why isn't it here?"

Confused and astonished, Alice constantly searches for the book she wants to read, hoping Luna doesn't hold her somewhere without returning it to the library.

"There's no... Here too... It's the same here... It's the same thing...."

One by one the books on the shelf she saw, none of the books on common knowledge she read made her look irritated.

"Ugh... It's endless."

At first glance, Alice saw someone near the window and an ornamental plant upstairs making her look that way.

"Bad!"

Hiding as soon as Alice looks back, Eri does not want to be found out because her job is to spy on Alice to report any suspicious actions from her.

"It's just my feelings."

Alice don't think there's anyone there, back looking for books one by one on the shelf. On the top floor of the library hiding under the desk, Eri peeps from her curious hiding place as her eyes look out for Alice.

"I wonder what she's looking for."

The curiosity that enveloped Eri's eyes made her just mutter rather than approaching Alice, which would make Alice stay away from Eri later.

"Argh... At this rate, I'll run out of time."

Frustrated and irritated that it was difficult to find the book among other books on a wide and about two stories high, Alice could only scratch her blonde hair because it was difficult to find the book she was looking for.

"Isn't there a summary of the book?"

Despite her irritation and frustration, she kept searching for the book through every shelf hoping to find it rather than giving up early.

"She didn't give up huh?"

Fascinated by Alice's persistence in searching for the book, Eri imagines that she is in Alice's position, she may have given up from the beginning because it is impossible to find one book among the others.

Especially with Alice's small body, it's impossible to pick up a book on a high shelf other than asking an adult for help.

A few moments passed, the book Alice was looking for never met made the morning atmosphere towards noon turn into noon. She who decides to end it doesn't want to stay here because she's afraid everyone's worried about her, she leaves the library.

"I have to follow her!"

Not wanting to linger, Eri comes out of hiding after seeing Alice come out of the library. She peered behind the open library door, making sure where Alice was going.

Alice POV

I don't know why I feel like someone's watching me right now.

Although I've been looking around for the past few days, no one's been following me. I'm confused whether this is just my imagination or my intuition, but the person is hiding before I know it.

Whatever it is, ignore it.

Besides, I'm not doing anything suspicious right now if anyone really follows me.

Since I didn't find the existence of a book on public knowledge I had to ask my father for help to teach me something else, hoping he'd take his time to teach me.

In the dining hall, the noblemen attended a long table with many chairs with red plush material and gold ornaments on the outside, sitting next to their respective families.

"Hey, Daddy..."

"Hmmm...."

Glancing at his daughter, Alice, the silver-colored taperfade-haired man, a pair of emerald-colored eyes, had a handsome face with an ideal posture starting from; a height of about 173 cm, a dashing medium body, Ren, was curious at what his daughter wanted to say.

"Can we talk after lunch?"

"Yeah, Daddy doesn't matter."

Again focusing on enjoying lunch with a steak covered with some seasoning and sauce, Ren enjoys it slowly using his fork and knife while curious about what his daughter wants to talk to him about.

"Sweetheart, can I come too?"

"No way."

"Uh... I want to know what you want to tell me.

"Anyway, you can't!"

Seeing the interaction between his daughter and his grandson, Arga, the king who enjoyed lunch with some vegetables and minced meat in it could only smile at them, knowing that his daughter had a family that could make him happy.

"Your Honor, are you sure about your decision?"

Upon hearing a question from the man next to him who had briefly advanced while standing, whispering to him made Arga's smile disappear in an instant replaced by seriousness.

"What do you mean, Gerald?"

"Regarding your decision about your grandson, Miss Alice will be the next heir to the throne."

"Yeah, I'm sure it's about that."

Arga remained whispering to Gerald, a dark green mohawk-haired man, an azure-colored pair of eyes, having a handsome face with an ideal posture ranging from; about 174 cm tall, medium in a firm posture, lacking the muscles of hands and feet, which remained standing by his side. nod and ask again curiously.

"May I ask why you're so sure?"

Chuckled at Gerald's confusion, Arga did not matter because she was also the same because she did not know why she wanted to rely on her grandson, Alice becoming the next queen to succeed him as king to exceed what her mother Luna had.

"I don't know, maybe it's just my intuition as a grandfather."

Not saying anything else, Gerald nodded and retreated slowly standing behind the chair where Arga was sitting.

"That little girl huh."

At first glance, the gaze of azure eyes is seen behind the squinty eyes directed at Alice who is irritated at Luna, her mother through their conversation about something Gerald doesn't know.

Secretly, Gerald uses the appraisals to examine which capacity Alice has in her body makes her sigh at length with a slow tone, unexpectedly if the next heir to the throne is unlike Arga who has where in large numbers, her granddaughter has none but a fire the size of a very small candle.

"How can you be so sure of that girl, Your Majesty?"

It is still unbelievable that Arga's decision is absolutely absolutely essential to make Alice the heir to the throne, according to Gerald, it would be better to be inherited by others than a weak girl with no talent or blessing.

"What's wrong with that guy? He had previously looked at the girl I was following, did he also have the same thing as what I did?"

There was a displeasure coming from a different direction making Gerald realize that it was from Eri, Lisa's daughter.

Gerald, who smiles little, doesn't show any suspicious behavior, makes Eri even more convinced that the man has other intentions, rather than spying on Alice to tell her mother if she has any suspicious behavior.

Alice POV

Wait a minute... Patience... Not now.

While I was still sitting with my father next to me, I didn't leave the dining hall which made people confused as to why I didn't leave the dining hall after lunch, making me just wave at them while maintaining a fake smile.

Of course, this looks disgusting.

Reminds me of my past. Where I pretend to be strong, not to look weak or low in front of others, not to be used by them, so that I look strong in the face of any kind of trouble.

But the fact that I ended up like this, I don't want to repeat it a second time.

This time, I'm going to use that fake to cover up my true identity, not to use it as a shield but to make a show right now so that no one will suspect me that a little girl like me has an adult mind.

After everything left the dining hall, silence began to be felt around between me and my father.

"So, what do you want to tell me, my dear?"

Right, I can't delay my time because I don't want to have the same fate as my old life.

Looking at my father with a serious face, I strengthened my determination to dare to say this to him even though I knew he would defy my request.

"Daddy, listen to me, I want you to teach me to be strong."

"Uh... to be strong?"

I nodded so much to his, still showing my determination through the look in my eyes while looking at him.

•••••

"Wait... Uh... What's the meaning of this?"

Unable to understand what Alice was saying to him, Ren was completely puzzled to understand whether he was hallucinating or not at this time.

Rather than he was in confusion, he looked at Alice with a surprised face trying to know it once more.

"Can you tell me again, my dear?"

"I want you to train me physically to be strong."

"It turned out to be my guess!"

It is undeniable that what Ren hears is really real, he is confused as to why his daughter has the thought of becoming stronger behind her weak body as the little girl descending from her wife, Luna who becomes a mother to Alice.

"May I have your reasons, sweetheart?"

"Yes", Alice nodded without the slightest doubt.

"I want to be strong so that I can fulfill my duty to fulfill my grandfather's wish to succeed to the throne."

"Is it that far?!"

So surprised, Ren jumped out of his chair because he didn't expect his daughter to think things that girls her age shouldn't think about.

"Shit. What did you say to my daughter, Father-in-law?!"

There is anger and hatred, Ren holds his forehead to hold his dizziness so that he does not get angry at Arga, not wanting trivial matters to be exaggerated.

Even though Ren thinks that Arga, his father-in-law will tell Alice that later, but it looks like he already told his daughter when Ren wasn't at the palace.

"May I learn, Father? I do not want to be weak or underestimated by others when I become the next heir to the throne."

"Argh! I can't see it."

According to Ren, his daughter's gaze is like stabbing his heart right now. He could not resist it when he saw a innocent look of entreaty in the sparkle of her crimson eyes staring at his, letting Ren know he could do nothing but give up.

"Okay, I'll teach you."

"Yeay~"

Cheering with joy at the persuasion and seduction of the innocent eye with the pleading face Alice shows to Ren, Alice jumps around as if winning to convince her father not to refuse her firmly.

"But, you have to learn the basics first."

"Yes, I understand."

Seeing his daughter understand what he says, a smile adorning Ren's face makes his put his hand over her daughter's blonde hair, wiping her hair gently.

"Well, then, I'll give you a month. If you change anything, I'll give you a present later."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Yeay... Father will give me a present~"

Seeing his daughter once again excited, Ren's hope was that she would give up so that he would not teach his sword techniques so that he would not be scolded by Arga, his father-in-law for teaching her what she should not have taught her.

Unbeknownst to them, outside the dining hall was seen Eri who heard their conversation only showing a small smile on her lips, she could not wait to give the information her mother wanted at this time.
