Chapter 35 - Development Ability 'Genshin' (Bonus Chapter)

When leveling up from Lv.1 to Lv.2, Levi had activated three Development Abilities.

They were 'Luck', 'Hunter', and 'Spirit Healing'.

Among them, 'Luck' had already been engraved into his Falna, so it did not appear again when leveling up to Lv.3.

Only 'Hunter' and 'Spirit Healing' remained.

Previously, to upgrade 'Mana Burst' to 'Mana Burst - Cryo', Levi had spent 2,000,000 Valis to draw two grimoires and a designated Development Ability activation ticket from the Lv.1 permanent gacha pool, but he originally planned to choose 'Spirit Healing' as his second Development Ability upon reaching Lv.3.

Therefore, he hadn't used that unexpectedly obtained activation ticket.

Yet, at this very moment, looking at the name of the new Development Ability that appeared on his status panel, Levi couldn't help but hesitate.

—'Genshin'.

Yes, it was the name of the event gacha pool that would disappear in 11 days, and also a specific term for a 'Vision Holder' on the continent of Teyvat.

But the DanMachi world was not the Genshin world, after all.

Just like the 'The Exile Set' set he used to arm his soul, its specific effects were not completely identical to those in the game from his past life.

So, should he choose 'Genshin' as his Lv.3 Development Ability?

Or should he play it safe and choose 'Spirit Healing' as originally planned?

If Levi were still alone, he might have been caught in indecision for a very long time.

But one mustn't forget, right now a goddess was sitting on his waist.

So, after hesitating for only a moment, he tossed the question to Hestia.

The twin-tailed goddess frowned slightly upon hearing this: "From a conservative standpoint, I'd advise you to choose 'Spirit Healing'. After obtaining a continuous mana recovery effect, your immediate combat power will undoubtedly be maximized."

"But on the other hand, being conservative also means you can see the end of the road from the beginning."

"'Spirit Healing' is strong, but it's not 'Mystery', which allows one to peek into a corner of the divine realm. Even if you maxed it out in the future, it would only grant you nearly infinite mana."

"Conversely, 'Genshin', like 'Mystery', has the character for 'god' in its name. And from what you've said, it essentially means 'god-in-the-making'."

"If I were you, I would take the gamble. If it fails, you'd just be wasting a Development Ability slot. Besides, you're planning to max out your ability scores right away and then go accumulate the excelia to level up to Lv.4 anyway."

"Conversely, if the effect of 'Genshin' exceeds expectations..." Hestia paused here. She leaned down, pressing her entire body against her lover's. "We... might just obtain an 'eternity' of time together."

The twin-tailed goddess admitted that her answer was colored by a considerable amount of personal desire.

Although Levi heard it in her tone, he chose not to refuse.

After all, just as Hestia said, his true trump card had always been the gacha system. The Development Abilities provided by the Falna were certainly good, but they were merely the icing on the cake.

"Then let's go with 'Genshin'."

In the next second, as Hestia updated the Falna, a skill silently appeared at the very bottom of Levi's status panel.

[Constellation Resonance · 6-Star (-): When all the stars of the Constellation within the held Vision are lit, Constellation Resonance can be activated, engraving the Constellation from the Vision onto one's own soul, thereby bypassing the magic slot limit and acquiring the combat techniques, survival skills, and knowledge inheritance of the Constellation's original owner from the Genshin world. After the resonance ends, the Constellation within the Vision disappears, and the Vision, while retaining its current star rating, reverts to an un-aspected Vision whose element can be designated. Current number of engraved Constellations: 0/1 (Tied to the 'Genshin' Development Ability. The maximum number of engravable Constellations increases by +1 when the 'Genshin' Development Ability reaches rank H, F, C, and S).]

"!!!" x2

Levi saw it through his quest panel, while Hestia saw it through the Falna system.

Though one saw it before the other, both now saw the newly born 'Constellation Resonance'.

The skill's effect was very powerful. Not even considering its future potential, just the ability to simultaneously use the elemental skills and elemental bursts of two Constellations while wearing a Vision was surprising enough.

If the number of resonant Constellations could be increased, its power would grow even further!

The only drawback was probably that this skill was, well, extremely resource-intensive.

Engraving a single complete four-star Constellation required a minimum of 5,000,000 and a maximum of 10,000,000 Valis.

Levi, having received an investment from Hephaestus, could naturally afford this amount.

But the intermediate-tier Constellations, and the high-tier Constellations after that...

The blond-haired youth lying on the bed opened the Lv.3 dimensional gacha pool.

It was more or less as Levi had expected. Compared to the Lv.2 pools, the Lv.3 gacha pools, both permanent and event, were essentially just an increase in star rating and rarity; the categories of items hadn't changed much.

That being said, the price per pull had still increased tenfold from before.
