Chapter 10 — The Vision She Can't Explain
Rei let out a quiet sigh as Sakura continued trembling, tears streaming down her cheeks.
He raised his hand and placed it gently on her forehead.
"Looks like I have no other choice…"
His eyes shifted—
the black pupils twisting, bending, reshaping—
Mangekyō Sharingan.
Before Sakura could react, the world around her shattered like glass.
Inside Tsukuyomi
The endless white void bloomed into a new reality—
a stage, bright lights, fans screaming her name.
Sakura… an idol.
Standing backstage was Rei—calm, confident, older, wearing a sleek suit.
A CEO.
Her husband.
Two small children ran toward her, hugging her legs and laughing.
"Mama! Papa said you did amazing!"
Rei stepped behind her, wrapping an arm around her waist, whispering:
"We're going home, love."
The future felt real—
too real.
Warm.
Safe.
Perfect.
And then—
Reality snapped back.
Only five seconds had passed.
But Sakura gasped, her tears gone, her fear dissolved into something else—
warmth, confusion, and a deep blush spreading across her cheeks.
Rei leaned closer, his Mangekyō fading away.
"You feel good now?" he asked quietly.
Sakura stared up at him, her face turning even redder as she realized how close he was.
Her heart pounded, but not from fear anymore.
Rei gently patted her head—
just like in the vision he implanted.
She stiffened, then slowly relaxed under his touch.
Rei narrowed his eyes slightly.
"What's wrong? You were crying just a moment ago… and then you suddenly stopped."
He paused, voice soft.
"Are you okay?"
Sakura swallowed hard, her cheeks burning.
"…I—I'm fine," she whispered. "I don't know why, but… I feel calm now."
Rei smirked inwardly.
Good. The Tsukuyomi worked perfectly.
Sakura's fingers touched her chest lightly.
She couldn't explain it, but she felt like she had just seen… her destiny.
With him.
Sakura wiped the last traces of tears from her cheeks, still unable to calm her racing heart.
Rei stepped closer, his expression unreadable.
"So," he asked softly, "why didn't you say anything earlier?"
Sakura lowered her gaze.
"I… I was scared," she whispered. "And I wanted to keep it a secret…"
Rei tilted his head slightly.
"A secret? That you're an idol?"
Sakura's eyes shot wide open.
"H-How do you know about that?!"
Rei smiled—the kind of calm, confident smile that made people freeze.
"To be honest… it was easy."
Of course, it wasn't.
Only he knew because this was an anime world.
Because he wasn't supposed to be here.
But he wasn't about to tell her that.
"Don't worry," Rei said, gently placing a hand on her head. "Your secret's safe with me. You don't even need to send me pictures. I already have everything I need."
Sakura blinked rapidly, blushing.
"T-Thank you… Rei…"
Rei lowered his voice, amusement flickering in his eyes.
"But Sakura… can you sing and dance for me? Like a real idol?"
Her entire face turned red.
"I-I can… if you want…" she whispered, shyly nodding.
Rei smirked and patted her head again.
"Good girl. Thanks."
Sakura's heart thumped so loudly she wondered if he could hear it.
"Let's exchange numbers," Rei said casually.
She nodded, hands trembling slightly as they traded phones and saved each other's contact.
The moment she clicked Save, a strange warmth filled her chest.
That vision… the kids… the marriage… could it really be the future?
Her cheeks heated even more.
"I-I'll get going now!" Sakura said abruptly, bowing quickly before turning around and practically running away.
Rei watched her disappear down the corridor, a cold smirk forming on his lips.
"So easy to control," he muttered.
"Just wait, Sakura… I'll get you soon enough."
