In the forest, a pink Pokémon flapped the tiny wings on its back, hopping quickly while holding a tree fruit in its arms.
She was Nanami's Clefairy, and the fruit in her hands had been specially gathered from the forest across the river.
It was a Miracle Berry, capable of curing any status condition—a relatively rare fruit.
But when she approached the tent, a restrained moan entered her ears.

"Haven't you reached 20 yet? Isn't it a bit early to brag?" Gary wrinkled his nose.

Goh shot a smug glance at Serena and Chloe.
He had been watching Ace's group closely.
Their score had been first place before because of Ace.

"Yo, isn't this Goh? Long time no see—still barking around here?"
"Who is it?" Goh turned, annoyed—only to see a familiar smirking face.
"Ace?!"
"Brother Ace! You're back!" everyone exclaimed.
Chloe ran forward and hugged his arm. "I knew it! Brother is always amazing!"
Ace smiled and rubbed her head.
Goh felt sick seeing this, "Tch… Who knows how messed up he was when he came ba— Hiss!!"
A hand like an iron clamp crushed his shoulder.
His face twisted in pain.
"I think it'd be better to shove a wooden stake in your mouth. Thoughts?"
"Whatever… After today I'll be first place anyway!" Goh hissed stubbornly.
"Oh?" Ace raised a brow and looked at Serena, "Nana, how many types of footprints do we have?"
"Um… Let me check…" Serena's mind went blank at the nickname.
She opened her book with a blushing face, "We have 12… but we've already collected most of the common Pokémon."
"Is that so…" Ace turned back to Goh.
"First place? You can forget about it."
