Chapter 389 - Chapter 389 — Jamal’s Watermelon

Cao Yang seemed to guess exactly what was going through the man's mind. He shot him a small, almost playful smile.

He had heard the rumors long ago—Jamal used to be a beast in the underground fighting rings. A former gold-belt champion who had beaten opponents to death with his bare hands. That was why the Blood Gang's boss valued him so much.

Cao Yang hadn't had a proper fight in a long time, and his hands were itching. Since Chen Wei and Du Hao were busy collecting the money anyway… he might as well play with this guy for a bit and let him die convinced.

Jamal had been waiting for an opening. When he suddenly saw Cao Yang smiling at him—and even putting away his gun—he froze, unable to understand.

Was this man actually planning to let him go?

Whatever the reason, an opportunity like this was rare. Jamal instantly lunged forward.

Standing over two meters tall and weighing more than three hundred pounds, he charged like a raging beast. The ground trembled faintly under each step.

"Go to hell!"Jamal swung a fist the size of a cooking pot at Cao Yang's head.

Cao Yang's eyes narrowed. This strength and speed… not far from a real beast.

But Cao Yang was Cao Yang—born with monstrous strength, never once losing in raw power. He wanted to lose at least once, just to know what it felt like. The only question was whether Jamal could give him that.

Facing the massive fist, he didn't dodge. Instead, he threw out a punch of his own.

"Gahaha…"Jamal laughed viciously. Anyone who dared trade punches with him ended up dead or crippled. This kid really didn't know his limits.

Boom!

Their fists collided.

Cao Yang slid back three steps.

Jamal staggered back seven before he finally held his ground, staring at Cao Yang in disbelief.

This small guy actually matched him head-on… and Jamal was the one who lost the exchange!

The throbbing pain traveling up his arm made it feel unreal.

Cao Yang, only around 1.85 meters tall—hardly small by normal standards—but in Jamal's eyes, everyone was small.

Cao Yang's lips curled upward.Jamal indeed had strength—very few people could force him back at all.But brute strength alone… that was all he had.

Cao Yang stomped forward, sprinted, then leapt into the air, delivering a flying kick straight at Jamal's face.

Jamal quickly crossed his arms in front of his head.

Bang!

The impact slammed into his wrists, forcing him back several steps until he crashed into the wall, barely stabilizing himself.

His pupils contracted.Today… he had met a monster.

Cao Yang didn't give him a second to breathe. He launched forward like a starving tiger.

Jamal roared and swung his fists, trying to block, trying to counter, trying anything.

The two collided again, fists and elbows flying.

Bang! Bang! Bang!Every punch landed solidly, flesh against flesh, bone against bone.

Cao Yang was exhilarated.

Jamal, however, felt nothing but pain. His abnormal endurance far surpassed ordinary humans, but this man's blows were as heavy as his own—no, heavier. His defense couldn't keep up.

And worse… this man was much faster.

In close combat, Jamal was being battered endlessly, unable to even fight back.

Pfft!Cao Yang's fist smashed into Jamal's mouth. Blood splattered, and teeth flew.

"What a boring fight. Time to wrap this up."Cao Yang sighed. Aside from brute strength and a tough body, this guy had nothing.

He raised his right fist. His middle knuckle protruded sharply—the lethal Heart-Shatter Punch.

He drove it straight into Jamal's chest.

Puchi!

Jamal's chest caved in. His ribs snapped and pierced his own heart. Blood spurted from his mouth.

"Thick skin, decent endurance."Cao Yang muttered when one punch didn't kill him instantly.

He swung again.

Puchi! Puchi! Puchi!

Three more punches.Jamal's massive body went limp and slid down the wall.

Hard not to die—Cao Yang's fist had already entered his chest cavity.

Chen Wei and Du Hao came downstairs just in time to witness the scene. Especially Du Hao—watching the black giant fall to the ground like a broken puppet, his own heart tightened uncontrollably.

He had once experienced that punch himself. Cao Yang hit him in the stomach back then, and it left him bedridden for half a year.If that punch had been to his chest… he would have died exactly like Jamal.

"Boss, only a little over one million." Chen Wei reported.

Cao Yang nodded. Better than nothing.

"Boss… we should go." Du Hao urged.

"No rush."

Cao Yang pulled out a dagger and handed it to Du Hao.

"Cut off Jamal's watermelon."

Du Hao froze—then swallowed. No idea why the boss wanted such a thing, but orders were orders. He forced himself to get it done.

Chen Wei frowned, feeling the scene was getting too bloody.

Cao Yang didn't even look. Instead, he turned toward the blonde girl trembling in the corner.

"Boss… done." Du Hao handed him a bag. Inside was Jamal's "watermelon."

"What about the woman?"

The girl dropped to her knees with a thud and crawled forward, crying for her life.

"P-please… please don't kill me. I was forced! I'm not with them!"

"Please, I beg you… God will bless you. Allah, amen!"

Cao Yang crouched down, lifting her chin.Pretty.

Thinking he was interested, the woman immediately said,"I'll be your slave! I'll do anything—just don't kill me!"

Cao Yang chuckled, patting her cheek."Relax. I never kill women. Go."

Hearing that, she bolted for the door—didn't even bother putting her clothes back on.

Cao Yang shook his head and patted Chen Wei on the shoulder.

Bang!

Silence filled the room.

"Woo-woo-woo—"

The FBI finally arrived. They sealed the scene, opened an investigation, and quickly concluded it was a gang retaliation incident. As for which gang—well, that would take time.

The Model Haven Blocks were Jet Ray's territory.Home to their dens, addicts, and even their main "business headquarters."

A so-called headquarters… basically the biggest drug house in the area, combined with a casino and brothel. Once midnight came, the place went wild.

Naked dancers, drug dealers, addicts, gamblers—it was chaos every night. Fights and bloodshed were common, usually involving Jet Ray members beating up gamblers who refused to leave or junkies who didn't pay.

A Cadillac rolled up outside.

A white man with a scorpion tattoo on his arm approached. His arrival immediately attracted attention.

This neighborhood was almost entirely black territory; white visitors were rare. And the scorpion tattoo—symbol of the Gambino Family.

The Gambinos were an Italian mob family. They had once fought Jet Ray fiercely for this area. Only after the Blood Gang mediated did Jet Ray gain the territory.

But Jet Ray had promised monthly tribute payments… which they never delivered. The Gambinos had caused trouble several times because of it.

Things had quieted down—until now.Seeing one of their men show up again—alone, no less—it didn't look like a fight.

The white man ignored all the stares. He walked straight to the reception counter, dropped a heavy bag on the table, and left without a word, practically running.

Jet Ray members exchanged confused looks.

One guy reached to open the bag—then froze."Wait! What if it's a bomb?!"

Everyone jumped back in fear.

After a long moment of silence with no explosion, a bigger guy finally mustered the courage to unzip it.

A round object rolled out—

Jamal's watermelon.
