Aurora wasn't the only one who noticed the crystals.
The sunlight was striking the exposed cliff face directly, causing countless white surfaces to glitter against the stone like scattered gemstones. Even from several meters away, the sight was difficult to miss.
Asher's gaze followed hers, and for a long moment, he simply stared. Then he frowned slightly and asked, "What is that?"
The question escaped before he could stop himself.
Truthfully, he wasn't expecting an answer. Aurora had dragged him around the mountain for nearly an hour looking at random plants, berries, and herbs. To him, these crystals looked no different than any other strange thing she occasionally became interested in.
Yet to his surprise, she answered immediately.
"I think it's rock salt."
The excitement in her voice was impossible to hide. He turned toward her. "Rock... salt?" The term meant absolutely nothing to him.
