Looking at the notification, Thoren was stunned.

This was the first time he had learned that humans could gain experience from killing fellow humans. Such information had never appeared in public.

When his eyes fell on the five dead bodies, he sighed heavily. He never wanted to kill a fellow human, but the situation left him with no choice.

"I can't let anyone know the secret of my talent," he muttered, sighing deeply.

His emotions were dawning, a gnawing guilt for killing the five.

"Now I understand why the Federation did not publish such an open secret," he muttered to himself.

The Abyss was the real threat to humanity, and if humanity started killing each other just to get stronger, it would be only a matter of time before they were devoured by the Abyss.

Even though everyone had a tacit understanding not to kill a fellow human, there were times when it could not be avoided—just like in his case.

"Although I don't have a choice in killing them, I must follow the strict regulations of the Federation never to convert a fellow human to undead summons," he mused, then walked away from the dead bodies.

Against the Necromancer Occupation, the Human Federation had established a strict law against turning humans into undead.

Anyone found turning a human into undead would be hunted down by the Federation.

He did not know why such a strict law existed against the Necromancers; he did not want to be hunted down by the Federation.

With his emotions recovered, he withdrew all his undead summons into his undead space and walked toward the thick green bushes beside the small lake.

Quickly, he began to harvest all the Blueheart Lotuses. Looking at the ten stocks of Blueheart Lotus, a light smile crept up on his lips.

"This should provide some ample funds," he grinned happily and left the small lake.

He looked at his stats, and his confidence grew stronger.

While many believed the Abyss was dangerous and that it was very difficult to grow stronger, he never shared that belief.

To him, as long as he increased his undead army, there wouldn't be any threat he couldn't overcome.

"Ah, I'm almost level up," his eyes shone brightly.

"With this pace, I can clear the first floor in less than fourteen days."

The thought of his parents never left his mind. Although he was a transmigrator, he understood the sacrifice his real body's parents had made.

Moreover, he would have died once again if they had not taken on such a huge debt to cure his disease.

Putting the unnecessary thoughts out of his mind, he focused on his next goal: try to level up to level 4. He would have aimed for level 5, but he reined in his confidence.

"If I want to become a Level 4 warrior before nightfall, I must go to another area."

The Lumin Forest housed only beasts from Level 1 to Level 3, and even those were few. Thus, his only option was to change locations.

Walking out of the forest, he withdrew all his undead summoned into his undead space. He was prudent and careful not to draw unnecessary attention to himself.

To the west of the Lumin Forest lay the Scarlet Rock Canyon. The canyon was populated by powerful beings, starting from Level 3, with Level 4 and 5 beasts also common.

However, the canyon was the bane of all Fire Mage Occupation practitioners. Thoren, however, did not share this concern.

He increased his pace and rushed toward the Scarlet Rock Canyon.

At Level 2, many would have considered his action reckless, but he did not care. His goal was to grow stronger as quickly as possible.

One hour later, he arrived at the Scarlet Rock Canyon. The canyon glowed with crimson sandstone walls, sculpted arches, and ruptured horizons.

Its narrow trails breathed sharp winds. The temperature was much higher than in the Lumin Forest.

When he entered the canyon, he felt the temperature spike and a bead of sweat appeared on his forehead.

He also felt that the atmosphere was vastly different from the Lumin Forest.

The canyon was quiet, save for the wild howl of the wind.

Quickly, he summoned his undead skeleton. He placed a Level 1 human skeleton behind him to serve as guard while five Level 2 Savage Rat Skeletons marched before him.

This was his tactic: making himself vulnerable to his target.

He barely walked for ten minutes when a beast fixed its eyes on him.

[Crimson-Horn Lizard]

[Level: 3]

[Attribute: Strength 8, Constitution 8, Agility 9]

[Trait: Hardened Scale — reduces attack by 5% and fire base attack by 10%]

The Crimson-Horn Lizard was territorial and loved to bask in sunlight. With a human entering its territory, it growled and rose to its feet. Its glowing yellow eyes locked onto its prey. Thoren also locked his gaze on it. Killing it would shoot him to Level 3 Warrior immediately.

Just the thought of growing stronger made his blood sing with excitement. Without hesitation, he commanded the five Level 2 Savage Rats to attack.

"Howl!"

The Crimson-Horn Lizard was furious and pounced on the weak prey before it. With its obsidian horn, the Lizard crushed one skeleton after another.

Bang!

Suddenly, a spear stabbed into its back. But even with Hardened Scale, it managed to reduce a portion of the damage.

Furious, it growled, baring its fangs, and stared at the weak human skeleton before it.

Fearlessly, the human skeleton stabbed once again. The Crimson-Horn Lizard did not retreat and met the attack with its obsidian horn.

Bang!

The spear was knocked out of the skeleton's hand, and it wobbled backward, losing a portion of its bones.

Howl!

The Crimson-Horn Lizard cried in pain as ten Level 2 Savage Rats attacked from all sides.

It struggled fiercely, swatting away some of them with its tail, but the undead skeletons were relentless, biting it to death.

Looking at the dead Crimson-Horn Lizard, a smile crept onto Thoren's face as he moved closer to the battleground.
