Chapter 31 - Chapter 31. The Joker?

Teacher's Office.

"Chabashira-sensei, I would like to ask why I am in Class D." Suzune Horikita slammed her hands on Sae Chabashira's desk, stubbornly demanding an answer.

After witnessing how terrible Class D was, she didn't understand why she, with excellent grades, was thrown into such a quagmire.

So today, she ran to the office, intending to get a clear answer from her homeroom teacher.

Suzune Horikita still held onto a sliver of hope, thinking she might have been accidentally assigned to the wrong class.

Even if she wasn't assigned to Class A from the beginning like her brother, being reassigned to Class B would be better than being in Class D.

Having just finished talking with Kiyotaka Ayanokoji and walking out of the tea room only to be questioned by Suzune Horikita, Sae Chabashira's mood plummeted to rock bottom.

"Horikita, I can tell you very clearly that there is no mistake with the class assignment." Sae Chabashira said coldly.

This sentence shattered the last fantasy in the girl's heart.

"Why?" Suzune Horikita didn't want to accept this fate.

The office door was opened from the outside, and Chie Hoshinomiya walked in leading Honami Ichinose and Katsuragi Ren.

Honami Ichinose, who was used to being Hoshinomiya's little follower, obediently followed behind Hoshinomiya.

Katsuragi Ren, not understanding what Little Chie wanted to do, also couldn't refuse the teacher to her face.

To express his protest, he put his hands behind his head all the way, looking cynical.

"Hoshinomiya-sensei, what is the matter with calling us here so suddenly?"

Glancing at Sae Chabashira next to him and the student from her class, Katsuragi Ren turned his head back.

Not because he wasn't curious, but mainly because Little Honami's hand was already on the soft flesh of his waist.

Katsuragi Ren didn't understand; were girls naturally adept at this move?

Little Honami had never treated him like this before; how did she become so skilled?

"Nothing much, just calling Little Honami to help Teacher grade papers. As for Little Ren... you're just here to look good standing on the side."

Putting a finger to the corner of her lips, Hoshinomiya put on an innocent expression and assigned tasks to the two.

This was a lie.

Hoshinomiya often assigned her these trivial tasks, and Honami Ichinose was used to it.

Hearing the teacher's words, she immediately found a stool and sat next to the teacher to start grading papers.

Don't want to say it, right? If you don't want to say it, you'd better not say it later either!

Katsuragi Ren thought fiercely in his heart, found a stool, and sat next to Little Honami, watching the girl seriously grade papers.

Sae Chabashira took a pack of cigarettes from the drawer, tore open the package, shook one out, and put it in her mouth.

"Little Sae~ We are in the office right now, and my dear students are still here."

Before Sae Chabashira could light it, Chie Hoshinomiya issued a light warning.

Knowing she was in the wrong, Sae Chabashira put the cigarette back in the box and refocused her gaze on the student in front of her: "Horikita, do you think you are outstanding?"

"Outstanding." Without even a second of hesitation, Suzune Horikita answered confidently.

"Then why were you, being so outstanding, assigned to Class D, known as the defectives?" Sae Chabashira countered, her eyes containing something ambiguous.

She wanted to hear a special answer, an answer that would give her hope for Suzune Horikita.

"The assignment was wrong!"

Hearing Suzune Horikita's answer, the trace of longing in Sae Chabashira's eyes completely disappeared.

Fine, she indeed thought too much.

"But you, being so outstanding, failed to find the classmate in your class who far surpasses you. How can you be called outstanding?"

"Ayanokoji, come out." Sae Chabashira called out to the tea room, signaling Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, who was eavesdropping inside, to stop hiding.

Betrayed directly by his homeroom teacher, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji walked out of the tea room expressionlessly: "Didn't Chabashira-sensei tell me to hide?"

The moment Kiyotaka Ayanokoji appeared, Chie Hoshinomiya poked Katsuragi Ren's arm, signaling the young man to look over.

Honami Ichinose, being honest and dutiful, didn't have many gossipy thoughts and focused entirely on the papers.

Damn Hoshinomiya-sensei, handing all the class papers to me to grade. Honami is suffering inside.

Noticing that her deskmate was the person Chabashira-sensei said was more outstanding than her, Suzune Horikita looked surprised.

"Chabashira-sensei, are you joking?" She didn't think this poker-faced guy was better than her.

Knowing that words were useless, Sae Chabashira pulled out the test paper named Kiyotaka Ayanokoji from a pile of student entrance exam papers and handed it to Suzune Horikita.

...

After the farce, the three from Class D left the office one by one.

Katsuragi Ren was pulled into the tea room by Chie Hoshinomiya, while poor Honami Ichinose continued to grade papers.

"Little Ren, any thoughts?" Holding her head in her hands, Chie Hoshinomiya asked for Katsuragi Ren's opinion.

"Boring farce. If this is your intention for calling me here, Little Chie, then I have to admit..."

"Little Chie, you successfully wasted twenty minutes of my time."

Among the three from Class D, only the young man named Kiyotaka Ayanokoji interested Katsuragi Ren slightly.

Just a little bit.

Katsuragi Ren was right; this was the reason Hoshinomiya called him here today.

As a "best friend," Chie Hoshinomiya had long discovered that Sae Chabashira paid too much attention to this student.

Although she couldn't check that student's resume directly like Sae Chabashira.

But points in the school rules can buy everything, not just targeting students.

Coincidentally, she had earned a lot of points recently.

Coincidentally, she saw Kiyotaka Ayanokoji being called to the office by Sae Chabashira today.

Coincidentally, she called Katsuragi Ren over with the excuse of having something to do.

"White Room, do you know it, Little Ren?" This was the information Chie Hoshinomiya bought.

"Little Chie, are you underestimating the weight of the four words 'Katsuragi Group'?" Katsuragi Ren was puzzled.

Of course he knew what the White Room was.

Even without the Katsuragi Group's nod, could this thing appear in Japan?

Regarding the term "artificial genius," Katsuragi Ren found it quite interesting when he first saw the data.

A toy factory mass-producing toys, this was Katsuragi Ren's understanding of the White Room.

"That Kiyotaka Ayanokoji is the most perfect artificial genius from the White Room."

"Although I don't know why he is still hiding his clumsiness."

"But undoubtedly, he is likely the..."

"Joker in Little Sae's hand."

This was the real purpose of Chie Hoshinomiya pulling Katsuragi Ren over, wanting her Joker to see the opponent's Joker in advance.

So that when conflicts arise between Class A and Class D in the future, Katsuragi Ren wouldn't be clueless.

He laughed.

Katsuragi Ren laughed, a bit arrogantly.
