After Eliron's 'black' lie of having awakened a divine ascension, the elves were filled with far more motivation than words ever could afford.
He gave them a cheap lie about Yennefer being their captive up until yesterday, but they were too ecstatic to even spot the fallacy in his words…
With their high spirits, work in their little village went on like a breeze. The dead bodies from the elves were all gathered and a quick but painful burial service was conducted for them.
Although Eliron and countless others would have loved to spend more time, time was a luxury and the clock was swiftly ticking down to their end.
The bodies of the mercenaries were scattered in the forest as a feast to the wild animals, and by evening time, Eliron could finally rest.
The atmosphere was still humid from rain, and the soil was moist with water, creating a serene atmosphere.
In front of Eliron were the weapons the elves had gathered from the mercenaries. High quality steel blades, daggers, a bow and a hefty mace.
'They are pretty high quality…'
He picked up a dagger to inspect it.
'Of course…'
"Elven steel."
It was one of the hardest materials in this world and was especially efficient at absorbing magic.
"They didn't even try to hide their involvement."
From behind him, Yennefer popped her head above his shoulders, her brows creased. "Elven steel? Wait, are the Elves responsible for this?!"
She was unable to contain the shock in her voice.
Eliron glanced at her. "There is a saying amongst the wood elves. A monster will sooner be your friend than a high elf an ally…"
He tossed the dagger into the pile, creating a soft clang as his eyes searched through for anything he might like.
"Even humans do not show as much contempt for us like high elves do."
Yennefer adjusted her position, sitting next to him. "So what is your plan? They definitely aren't going to stop here…."
He folded his arms around his chest and breathed out a sigh.
Yen was right. In the novel, even after the death of the elven lord, the high elves continued to torment the wood elves until all prominent people were killed.
At the end of the day, the wood elves were starved to death, having to eat nothing but snow for weeks until succumbing to their fate.
Eliron grabbed a slender saber from the pile and lifted it to the evening light.
The orange light danced around the blade, causing the steel to gleam like fire as the light of the sunset bathed it red.
He tested the weight, twirling it in his arms slightly then nodding in approval.
'This should do…'
"First of all, I need to know where I stand, so I'll check 'The Collection' first."
Yennefer nodded in approval and laid down on the mat. "Alright then…" she muttered while closing her eyes.
Eliron told a deep breath.
'System status'

◆ Body tampering ichor x1
◆ + 10 Stats Points
Eliron glanced at the screen and smiled. Back then, he had been too tired to even read through the information.
The most important thing here was the body tampering ichor.
This ichor was able to reconstruct the body on a cellular level, improving physical strength, mana flow, mental alertness and a host of other things.
It was the perfect first reward!
When he fought Goliath, although he had the SSS ranked swordsmanship skill, he was unable to use it to its full potential because his body could not exert as much strength, and his mana capacity was terribly low.
'If I want to make perfect use of my skills, then I need to build my body and mind...'
It was one thing to know how to use proper techniques to lift a 100kg weight. But if you lacked the muscles to do it, at the end of the day, all you would accomplish is breaking your back.
This world followed the laws of equivalent exchange in its own unique way.
To invoke a fire ball, you must have enough mana, there must be oxygen in the air, and the fireball will exert an equal force based on the sacrifice made for its invocation.
Something could not come from nothing.
As his thoughts settled, the next screen appeared in front of him.

Eliron's eyes strolled through the system screen, stopping at his affinities.
Auro and Tiris…
A small smile crept up his cheeks, wind and fire, a destructive combination.
In Titans tribulations, an affinity was an element you were born naturally attuned to.
Although you could work on boosting your affinities for other elements, a mage will grow fastest when they focus on their affinities first, before expanding.
The more were five basic elements in the novel;
Auro - Wind
Tiris - Fire
Udou - Earth
Hydro - Water
Lifae - Life
Every other element was a derivative of these five.
Next he stared at his stats, his eyes hardening as he glanced through them.
"What the hell?" He breathed out.
Yennefer opened a single eye. "What?"
Eliron slapped his forehead and smiled in quiet rage. "My stats are absolute shit…"
Even his mana capacity which should have been decent was in the dumps.
Yennefer closed her eyes as though what he said was of little importance. "Don't worry, you'll build it up with time…"
She paused and her brows creased.
"As long as you don't die that is..."
Eliron gave her a deadpan stare. "Thanks, that was very encouraging."
'System, assign all points to mana capacity.'
Right now, his skills were his most powerful weapons. The ichor would solve his weak constitution but it had a lesser effect on mana.
Then Eliron closed the stat screen.
Everything else was as he expected it to be, the village was poor, the people were below the poverty line…
He didn't need the system to tell him what he could see with his two eyes.
He glanced at Yennefer who was smiling in her sleep, then a dark smile appeared on his face.
"Eeek!"
Yennefer yelped as Eliron grabbed her hand and suddenly pulled her to her feet.
"We don't have much time, let's get going…"
Yennefer huffed angrily. "Be gentler next time! You almost gave me a heart attack!"
Eliron began walking. "Lack of activity is the leading cause of heart attacks, I was saving you from one…"
"You haven't forgotten what I am have you? I'll place a divine curse on—hey, stop walking, wait up!"
•••
As they walked farther from the village square, Ash met up with them, the three of them heading towards the forest.
"Umm, where are we going?" Yennefer asked after they walked for some time.
Eliron smirked. "We're going to see an old acquaintance of mine."
The closest thing to a High Elf amongst the elves.
