The flames of war spread like a demon, leaving scorched earth in their wake. Villages turned to ruins in the roaring inferno, the crumbling walls seemingly crying out about the peace and beauty that once existed. The people were displaced, their faces gaunt, their eyes filled with fear and despair. Children had lost their innocent smiles, the elderly stumbled forward in exhaustion, and women wept, as the entire continent seemed to be plunged into endless darkness and chaos.
Hu Yulun frowned, gazing at the desolate scene, his heart filled with indignation: "When will this damned war end?"
Isabella gently took his hand, her eyes conveying determination: "As long as we don't give up, there's always hope."
They had to carefully bypass the war zones, their every step precarious. However, sometimes the fires of war would still suddenly flare up before them.
Once, they had just skirted around a burning village and were about to breathe a sigh of relief when they heard deafening shouts of killing in the distance. Hu Yulun instantly became vigilant, gripping his sword tightly, his body tensing.
"Not good, it seems more fighting is approaching," Merlin said with a serious expression.
A troop of cavalry charged forward like a whirlwind, kicking up a cloud of dust. Hu Yulun and the others didn't have time to dodge and were instantly caught up in the chaotic battlefield.
Hu Yulun shouted loudly: "Everyone, be careful!"
Isabella's eyes flickered with a hint of panic, but it was quickly replaced by determination. She raised her magic staff, ready to meet the challenge.
Merlin, on the other hand, calmly observed the situation, searching for an opportunity to escape.
Hu Yulun stood in the midst of the chaotic battlefield, a figure like a Mighty Lion. His posture was upright, his back straight, as if he could hold up the entire sky. His legs were slightly apart, planted firmly on the ground, as steadfast as if they had taken root.
The sword in his hand glinted with a cold light in the sunlight, each swing accompanied by the sound of rushing wind. Hu Yulun's eyes were focused and sharp, his gaze locked tightly on the Enemy General, his eyes seemed to pierce their very soul, causing them to fear.
His movements were swift and powerful; his arms wielded the longsword like a silver lightning bolt streaking across the battlefield. Each attack was precise and deadly; where the blade passed, enemies fell. He sidestepped the Enemy General's attacks, his steps agile and nimble, like a swift cheetah.
Hu Yulun roared loudly, his voice filled with fearless courage and unwavering determination. His hair fluttered in the wind, sweat streaming down his cheeks, but he paid it no mind, completely absorbed in the battle.
Sometimes he leaped high, his sword pointing at the sky, hacking down with force; other times, he spun rapidly, the sword forming an impenetrable barrier, deflecting the Enemy General's attacks one by one. On him, there was not a trace of retreat or fear, only the bravery of moving forward and the unyielding fighting spirit.
The shouts of battle and the clashing of weapons seemed to become his war song, encouraging him to charge forward in the battle, showcasing his incredibly heroic figure.
Hu Yulun's valiant figure instilled fear in the surrounding enemies, yet they continued to surge forward.
His breath grew heavy, but it didn't affect his attack rhythm in the slightest. He sidestepped, dodging a spear thrust, and followed up with a kick to the enemy's stomach, sending him sprawling. Then, with a backhand swing of his sword, he dispatched another enemy attempting a sneak attack.
"Come on, you rabble!" Hu Yulun roared, his voice echoing across the battlefield. His eyes burned with fury, as if he wanted to incinerate every enemy before him.
Just then, a burly Enemy General charged forward on a Warhorse, wielding a massive battle axe, directly at Hu Yulun. Without fear, Hu Yulun met the charge. At the last moment, he ducked, avoiding the deadly blow, then swiftly rose and plunged his sword into the Warhorse's leg.
The Warhorse, in pain, reared up, throwing the Enemy General. Hu Yulun seized the opportunity, leaping and pointing his sword at the Enemy General's throat. The Enemy General's eyes widened in terror as he pleaded, "Spare me, hero!" Hu Yulun sneered, "You started this war, causing suffering to the people. You are unforgivable!" With that, his sword fell, ending the Enemy General's life.
The others on the battlefield were stunned by Hu Yulun's bravery, momentarily hesitating to advance. Hu Yulun took the chance to reunite with Isabella and Merlin. They exchanged a glance and continued fighting side by side, bravely slaying enemies for peace and justice.
Under Hu Yulun's intimidating display, the enemy's offensive was temporarily halted. However, the smoke of war had not yet dissipated.
Hu Yulun gasped for air, his clothes soaked with sweat, but his gaze remained firm and sharp. He looked around, searching for his next target.
Isabella and Merlin were also fiercely battling the enemy not far away. The magic wand in Isabella's hand shone with brilliant light, and each wave released powerful magical energy, pushing back the enemy. Merlin, on the other hand, was muttering incantations, casting various mysterious spells, providing strong support for their battle.
"Hu Yulun, watch out on the right!" Isabella shouted.
Hu Yulun turned quickly upon hearing the voice, and saw several enemies approaching stealthily. He roared, raised his sword, and charged forward. Amidst the flashing sword shadows, the enemies fell one after another.
"We can't be held up by this war for too long; we must find a way out as soon as possible!" Merlin shouted while casting spells.
Hu Yulun nodded and said, "Everyone, follow me, charge out!"
They charged left and right on the battlefield, gradually cutting a bloody path. But the enemies were unwilling to let them go, constantly pursuing and intercepting them.
Hu Yulun had several more wounds on his body, but he seemed to feel no pain, still fighting bravely forward. Suddenly, a team of archers appeared ahead, and a dense rain of arrows shot towards them.
Hu Yulun swung his sword fiercely, knocking down the arrows aimed at him, and shouted, "Everyone, find cover!"
They hid behind a giant boulder, Hu Yulun frowning deeply, considering their options.
"This won't work. We need to find a way to break through their lines," Isabella said anxiously.
Hu Yulun's eyes narrowed. "When they shoot again, we'll charge."
When another volley of arrows rained down, Hu Yulun was the first to charge, his sword dancing like the wind, deflecting the incoming arrows. Isabella and Merlin followed close behind, unleashing powerful magic and strength.
Finally, they broke through the enemy's encirclement and continued forward on the unknown road, their belief unwavering.
Having escaped the enemy's encirclement, they didn't dare to stop, hurrying along the path ahead.
Hu Yulun's steps were somewhat heavy, but he still gritted his teeth and pressed on, leading the way. The wind tousled his messy hair, and his eyes revealed a hint of fatigue, but even more, determination.
Isabella looked at Hu Yulun with concern. "Hu Yulun, you should rest for a bit. Your wound needs tending to."
Hu Yulun shook his head. "No, we can't stop. We don't know if the enemy is still following us."
Merlin, panting heavily, followed behind. "Child, Isabella is right. We need a short rest to go further."
Only then did Hu Yulun stop, leaning against a large tree. Isabella quickly took out herbs and bandages from her backpack to treat Hu Yulun's wounds.
"Ouch..." Hu Yulun gasped in pain.
"Hold still, it'll be over soon," Isabella said softly.
After treating the wounds, they continued forward. The sky was getting dark, and the surrounding forest looked eerie and terrifying.
"Be careful, everyone. This forest might be dangerous," Hu Yulun warned.
Suddenly, a sinister laugh echoed through the trees. "Hahaha, do you think you can escape?"
Hu Yulun and the others immediately became alert, looking around warily.
"Who's there? Come out!" Hu Yulun shouted.
A shadow slowly emerged from the woods, revealing a mysterious Wizard. His eyes flickered with an eerie light, and he held a wand in his hand.
"You have trespassed on my territory, and you will pay the price!" the Wizard said menacingly.
Hu Yulun gripped his sword tightly and said, "We mean no offense. If you let us pass, we won't be your enemy."
The Wizard let out a cold laugh. "That's not up to you!" With that, he waved his wand, releasing a cloud of black smoke.
Isabella quickly cast a spell, forming a shield to block the smoke's attack.
A fierce battle of magic and swordsmanship then began...
