Chapter 60 - Buddha Appears to Stop the Fight; The Future Path Remains Bleak

The clouds slowly dispersed, revealing the figure of Buddha. His towering body seemed to reach the heavens, majestic and imposing. He wore a golden kasaya embroidered with mysterious and complex patterns, each seemingly containing the infinite truth of Buddhist Dharma. He exuded immense dignity and a mysterious aura, his light dazzling like a scorching sun hanging in the sky, yet with an irresistible sense of oppression, as if capable of absorbing one's soul.

Buddha's face was ashen, his eyes as deep as the sea, coldly surveying the chaotic battlefield below. His broad forehead furrowed slightly, seemingly filled with dissatisfaction and helplessness at the scene before him. His lips parted slightly, and he slowly spoke, "This farce, it's time it ended." His voice was like a coming from the depths of the abyss, cold and heartless; each word was like a heavy boulder, crashing into everyone's hearts. The sound echoed in the air, carrying an invisible power that made people's hearts tremble.

There was not a trace of emotion in his tone, as if all the disputes in the world were just insignificant dust in his eyes. However, beneath this seemingly calm tone, there was an indescribable powerful force, spreading like a tide, causing everyone present to be terrified.

On the battlefield, everyone's movements froze instantly. They all looked up at Buddha in the sky. Their eyes were filled with awe, fear, and confusion.

Sun Wukong tightly gripped his Golden Cudgel, the golden light in his eyes flickering. The light on the Golden Cudgel flickered in response to his inner turmoil. He bared his teeth, his face still maintaining that rebellious expression, but his heart was filled with thoughts: This old Buddha, he always comes to ruin my old Sun's good deeds! But his eyes still revealed a stubbornness.

Zhu Bajie stopped wielding his Nine-Tooth Rake, which was still stained with the enemy's blood. He gasped, his belly rising and falling, and muttered, "Alas, what to do now? Buddha has come. How can we keep fighting? I, Old Zhu, haven't had enough!" His face was full of annoyance and helplessness, his small eyes darting around, unsure what he was plotting.

Tang Sanzang clasped his hands together, lowered his head slightly, and silently chanted scriptures. His face was full of compassion, but his brows were slightly furrowed, unsure if he was praying for Buddha's mercy or repenting for the war. His kasaya fluttered in the wind, making him appear even more otherworldly.

Father of Ultra and Ultraman also stopped their attacks. They looked at Buddha, their eyes filled with vigilance. Father of Ultra straightened his body, his arms crossed over his chest, his eyes scrutinizing. Ultraman slightly turned to the side, ready to respond at any moment.

Buddha was unmoved by the reactions of the crowd. He simply stood there silently, his aura becoming increasingly heavy. Each of his breaths seemed to affect the surrounding air, making it difficult for everyone to breathe.

"You are constantly fighting here, disturbing the peace of the world," Buddha's voice rang out again, echoing across the battlefield, making everyone's eardrums buzz. "Stop immediately and listen to my teachings." His words carried an undeniable authority.

Sun Wukong couldn't help but shout, "Buddha, this isn't something this old Sun started! I'm just upholding justice!" As he spoke, he brandished his Golden Cudgel, which sliced through the air in a golden arc.

Buddha narrowed his eyes slightly, a trace of light flashing within, and said, "Wukong, don't quibble. The cause and effect in the world are all predetermined. Today's disaster is all because of the obsessions in your hearts. Is it so simple to distinguish between good and evil? Only by letting go of your anger and fighting can you find liberation." His voice was calm and deep, as if he were speaking the truth of the universe.

Everyone fell into deep thought, and the battlefield fell into an eerie silence for a moment. A gentle breeze blew by, stirring up a cloud of dust.

However, a moment later, Sun Wukong raised his head again, his eyes shining with determination. He looked directly at Buddha and shouted, "Buddha, I refuse to accept it! If there is no struggle in this world, where does fairness and justice come from? If everyone lets go as you say, wouldn't evil become even more rampant?" His voice was filled with anger and unwillingness.

Buddha sighed softly, and in that sigh, there seemed to be endless compassion and helplessness: "Wukong, when will you change your stubborn nature? The justice you pursue may not be the true justice."

Zhu Bajie anxiously said from the side, "Monkey, don't argue with Buddha, we can't afford to offend him!" He tugged on Sun Wukong's sleeve, his face full of worry.

Sun Wukong remained unmoved, stubbornly staring at Buddha, and loudly proclaimed, "Buddha, this old Sun doesn't understand your profound Buddhist teachings, but I know that you can't back down in the face of evil!"

Sha Wujing watched silently from the side, tightening his grip on the Demon-Subduing Staff, and thought to himself, The Great Sage is right, but this Buddha... His face showed a conflicted expression.

Guan Yu held the Green Dragon Crescent Blade, and the Red Hare under him was restlessly pawing the ground. He looked at Buddha with a determined gaze.

The White Dragon Horse transformed into a human form and stood to the side, his expression complex.

Buddha shook his head slightly and said, "Wukong, your persistence will ultimately lead you astray."

Sun Wukong replied, "Buddha, even if it's a path of delusion, this old Sun will still take a walk down it!"

At this moment, a strange light flashed across the sky, as if it was some kind of omen.

"Forget it, forget it!" Sun Wukong waved his hand in annoyance. His face was filled with helplessness and unwillingness. He slammed the Golden Cudgel heavily on the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. Sun Wukong frowned, the golden light in his eyes dimming a bit, and muttered, "As soon as that old Buddha appears, even if this old Sun has a thousand grievances, I can't do anything about it for now."

At this moment, the Father of Ultra and Ultraman watched the chaotic battlefield, and a chill gradually crept into their hearts. The Father of Ultra's towering figure trembled slightly, his eyes revealing deep worry and helplessness. He turned his head to look at Ultraman and said heavily, "Brother, the current situation is already unfavorable to us. Dark Tiga and Camilla have already been defeated. We can only postpone the matter of revenge and rewriting history."

Ultraman clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white from the force. He said unwillingly, "But how can we give up just like this? We have a mission to fulfill!"

The Father of Ultra sighed deeply and said, "How could I be willing to do so? But the situation is as it is. If we force ourselves to fight, it will only increase casualties."

Ultraman's gaze swept across the limbs scattered on the battlefield, and a sharp pain pierced his heart. He gritted his teeth and said, "Then what should we do? Are we just going to go back with our tails between our legs?"

The Father of Ultra was silent for a moment, then slowly said, "Let's go back first and make long-term plans. Revenge is a dish best served cold."

A hint of hesitation flashed in Ultraman's eyes, but in the end, he nodded and said, "Alright, that's all we can do."

Behind them, the surviving Ultraman warriors were also weary, their eyes filled with disappointment and confusion.

The Father of Ultra looked at the demoralized warriors and shouted, "Brothers, today's defeat is not due to our fault. We will retreat for now, rest and recuperate, and await the opportune moment!"

The soldiers were unwilling, but they could only obey orders.

On the other side, Sun Wukong and the others were silently cleaning up the battlefield. Zhu Bajie sat on the ground, gasping for breath, and said, "Ugh, this old pig is exhausted. This battle was really stifling."

Sha Wujing quietly put away the weapons, while Tang Sanzang clasped his hands together and said softly, "Amitabha, may this war end soon."

Guan Yu, riding on Red Hare, still had a determined look in his eyes, thinking, "When will the conflicts in this world end?"

Sun Wukong watched the figures of the Father of Ultra and the others as they left, also pondering something.

The Buddha's dazzling and radiant light gradually receded like a tide. The fading of the light was so silent, as if the Buddha had never descended, disappearing so mysteriously. The trajectory of the light's disappearance was like the shattering of a dream bubble, leaving only the faint fluctuations of energy in the air, proving the existence of the heart-stirring presence.

Guan Yu still rode on Red Hare, his posture as straight as a pine tree, his gaze as firm as iron. In his determined eyes, it seemed as if thousands of troops and horses were hidden, and it also seemed to contain the determination for countless battles in the future. He gently pulled the reins, and Red Hare let out a low neigh.

Guan Yu turned to look at Sun Wukong and the others, clasped his hands together, and said in a loud voice, "Great Sage Sun, heroes, Guan will take his leave now, we shall meet again!"

Sun Wukong scratched his ear and cheek, responding with a grin, "Farewell, General Guan!"

Zhu Bajie waved his hand, shouting loudly, "General Guan, come by for drinks and meat when you have time!"

Guan Yu smiled slightly and nodded. Then, he urged Red Hare forward, and the horse raised its front hooves, galloping away. Guan Yu's figure gradually faded into the distance until it disappeared at the horizon.

After everyone else had left, Hu Yulun and the rest of the exploration team were left alone. They stood on the ravaged battlefield, their expressions blank, their eyes filled with confusion and helplessness.

Hu Yulun frowned, looking at the smoke that had yet to dissipate in the sky. He muttered to himself, "What does this great battle really mean?"

Isabella's beautiful face was covered in dust and blood. Her eyes revealed a hint of fear and unease. "What should we do next?"

Aiden clenched his fists tightly, gnashing his teeth, "This is just the beginning. We must prepare ourselves to face more challenges."

Merlin lowered his magic staff, sighing, "But our power is so insignificant, what can we do?"

Hu Yulun took a deep breath and said firmly, "No matter what, we can't back down. The remnants of the battle in this world serve as a warning to us, and also as the impetus for us to move forward."

The others were silent, just quietly looking at the surrounding ruins.

Suddenly, a gentle breeze blew, stirring up a cloud of dust.

Hu Yulun raised his head, looking into the distance, and said, "Let's go, let's find our own path."

Isabella nodded, a spark of hope rekindling in her eyes: "Yes, we can't be defeated like this."

Thus, Hu Yulun and the others, with heavy steps, slowly left the battlefield. Their figures appeared lonely and insignificant in the afterglow of the setting sun, but their steps were filled with determination.

They knew that this battle was the opening of a story, and it was far from over. The future road was full of unknowns and dangers, but the belief in their hearts was like a bright lamp, illuminating their way forward.

......

Guan Yu rode Red Hare at breakneck speed, the sound of hooves like a torrential downpour shattering the void. Red Hare resembled a blazing flame, its mane dancing wildly in the wind. Soon, he was back at the Heavenly Court. He sharply reined in the horse, and Red Hare let out a long neigh, its front hooves rearing high. The sound seemed to pierce the clouds, echoing throughout the entire celestial palace. When the hooves landed, the ground trembled slightly, and it came to a halt in front of the South Heaven Gate.

Guan Yu dismounted cleanly, his movements sharp and decisive. He landed with the stability of a mountain. He strode into the Heavenly Court with steady, powerful steps, each one filled with unwavering determination. His armor gleamed coldly under the sunlight, the light like scattered stars, radiating endless majesty. The Green Dragon Crescent Blade in his hand still retained the warmth of battle, the patterns on the handle seeming to recount the fierce struggle he had just experienced.

Entering the Hall of the Azure Clouds, the Jade Emperor sat high on his throne, his gaze stern and profound. The gods stood on either side, each with a solemn expression. Guan Yu knelt on one knee, clasped his hands in front of him, and respectfully said, "Your subject, Guan Yu, pays respects to the Jade Emperor." His voice was deep and resonant, echoing throughout the hall.

The Jade Emperor slightly raised his hand, a hint of concern on his face. He said, "General Guan, please rise. How was the battle below?"

Guan Yu stood up, his gaze fixed on the Jade Emperor, as if the embers of battle burned within his eyes. He began, "Reporting to the Jade Emperor, the battle below was exceptionally fierce. The Ultra race came with great force, each of them huge in size, radiating dazzling light, and wielding strange and powerful energy. They engaged in a desperate struggle with Tang Sanzang's group and the other immortals. On the battlefield, light crisscrossed, energy overflowed, and the earth shook. Fortunately, we worked together, fought bravely, and managed to repel some of the enemies."

Saying this, Guan Yu frowned slightly, a serious expression on his face. Recalling the tragic scenes of the battlefield, he continued, "However, the power of the Ultra race is truly not to be underestimated. Their skills are peculiar and powerful, each move and technique containing the ability to destroy the heavens and the earth. Those beams of light were as sharp as swords, and wherever they went, mountains collapsed and rivers flowed backward."

The Jade Emperor's expression grew serious, his eyes filled with worry. He asked, "General Guan, did you discern their purpose in coming here?"

Guan Yu pondered for a moment, stroking his beard, and replied, "Jade Emperor, your subject believes that they seem to be here to change some kind of order. However, their specific intentions are still unclear. These fellows act strangely, and their motives are difficult to fathom."

The Jade Emperor nodded slightly, his expression serious. "General Guan, you've worked hard. Please tell us the details of the battle."

Guan Yu clasped his hands in a gesture of respect. "Yes, Jade Emperor. Upon entering the battlefield, I immediately encountered an Ultraman named Zoffy. This person was incredibly arrogant. I was enraged, and with a swing of my blade, I beheaded him. At that moment, I saw Ultraman and Tang Sanzang locked in a fierce battle. The Buddha's light and the light of the Ultra warriors intertwined, shaking the surrounding space, as if the heavens and earth were about to collapse. I, along with my four brothers, fought against the Father of Ultra, Ultraman, Dark Tiga, and Camilla. Dark Tiga and Camilla were treacherous, their spells bizarre and often catching us off guard. Fortunately, we understood each other perfectly, fighting bravely and coordinating seamlessly. I unleashed all my skills, the Green Dragon Crescent Blade whistling in my hands, each strike carrying the determination to kill. After a hard-fought battle, we finally slew Dark Tiga and Camilla. Just as the battle intensified, the Buddha from the West came to stop the fighting, lest the situation escalate!"

At this point, a hint of pride flashed in Guan Yu's eyes, and he puffed out his chest. "Only, the Father of Ultra was very cunning, and fled the battlefield when he saw things turning against him."

The Jade Emperor narrowed his eyes slightly, a glint of coldness flashing within them. He said, "It seems this Ultra Clan's intentions are not good. There may be further trouble in the future."

Guan Yu clasped his hands in a gesture of respect and said, "Rest assured, Jade Emperor. This subordinate is willing to serve the Heavenly Court at any time, even to the point of giving my life. Even if the path ahead is a mountain of knives or a sea of fire, this subordinate will not retreat and will surely protect this realm's peace."

The Jade Emperor said with satisfaction, "General Guan's loyalty is commendable. For this achievement, I shall bestow rewards upon you."

Guan Yu quickly expressed his gratitude. "Thank you, Jade Emperor. This is this subordinate's duty. It is this subordinate's honor to fight for the Heavenly Court and to relieve Your Majesty's worries."

At this moment, Taibai Jinxing stepped forward and bowed, saying, "Jade Emperor, in this old official's opinion, we should strengthen the Heavenly Court's defenses to prevent the Ultra Clan from invading again. The current situation is unclear, and we must not be careless."

The gods nodded in agreement, and a chorus of approval echoed through the hall.

The Jade Emperor looked at Guan Yu and asked, "General Guan, what are your thoughts on this?"

Guan Yu pondered for a moment, his gaze firm. "Jade Emperor, this subordinate believes that we should not only strengthen our defenses but also send people down to the mortal realm to investigate the Ultra Clan's movements. Knowing ourselves and knowing our enemy will ensure victory in every battle. Furthermore, we should train the Heavenly soldiers and enhance our military strength to prepare for any eventuality."

The Jade Emperor nodded in agreement and said, "We shall do as General Guan suggests."

Afterward, the Jade Emperor discussed countermeasures with the gods. Guan Yu listened quietly, occasionally nodding slightly, and sometimes falling into deep thought, secretly pondering how to improve his strength to deal with potentially more powerful enemies in the future.

After the discussion, Guan Yu excused himself and left the Lingxiao Treasure Hall. Walking back to his residence, Guan Yu was filled with emotion: "The conflicts in this world have never ceased. I must work harder, live up to the Jade Emperor's trust, and protect the righteous path of heaven and earth. Even if the road ahead is thorny, I shall forge ahead without retreating."

In a distant space-time, the Father of Ultra and Ultraman, amidst a dazzling and poignant light, used a mysterious teleportation technique. Their forms gradually blurred and finally disappeared into the void. When the light flashed again, they had returned to the mysterious space where Eiji Tsuburaya, the Ultra Godfather, resided.

At this moment, the Father of Ultra was covered in wounds. His originally tall and upright figure now seemed somewhat stooped, as if overwhelmed by endless fatigue and pain. His eyes were dim, but still revealed a trace of unyielding determination. Ultraman, on the other hand, was half-kneeling on the ground, one hand supporting the ground, gasping for breath. The light on his body flickered, as if it would go out at any moment.

They slowly walked towards Eiji Tsuburaya, each step dragging a heavy pace, as if their feet were in an endless quagmire. The Father of Ultra, using his last bit of strength, knelt on one knee, his voice hoarse and filled with despair: "Godfather, we... we have failed to fulfill your expectations."

Eiji Tsuburaya sat there quietly, with no expression on his face, but his eyes revealed a deep sense of sorrow.

Ultraman raised his head, his eyes filled with tears of blood, and began to report on the battle on the Aelia Continent in the ancient era: "Father, it was a battle like a nightmare. Zoffy, he... he bravely charged towards Guan Yu, the guardian of the South Heavenly Gate of the Eastern Heavenly Court. But Guan Yu was incredibly powerful, riding Red Hare like a whirlwind, his Green Dragon Crescent Blade flashing with cold light. Zoffy didn't even have time to use his full strength before he was cut down by that merciless blade, his body turning into light and disappearing in that instant, leaving only his final roar echoing in the air." Speaking of this, Ultraman's voice was almost broken with grief.

"And my entanglement with Tang Monk was an even more desperate struggle. The Buddha's light surged towards me like a raging tide, every inch of light carrying endless pressure and compassion. The beam skills I used with all my might were like fireflies compared to the bright moon in front of that Buddha's light, easily devoured. My body was repeatedly repelled by that powerful force, and every impact made me feel my soul trembling." His face was filled with helplessness and deep reverence.

Ultraman added, "After that, Guan Yu and the other three brothers, including Sun Wukong, launched a fierce attack on us. Sun Wukong's figure was like a ghost, his Golden Cudgel moving in his hands, causing the heavens and earth to change color; Guan Yu was unparalleled in bravery, his blade skills so sharp that they were chilling. We fought hard, but Dark Tiga and Camilla still fell under the storm-like attacks, their screams still seemed to be echoing in my ears." His voice was filled with pain and self-blame, and his body trembled slightly from excessive sadness.

Father of Ultra and Ultraman looked at each other, then lowered their heads in despair, their voices filled with guilt and regret: "Father, we really tried our best, but we still failed to complete the task you gave us to maintain the order of history."

Eiji Tsuburaya sighed slightly, his voice low and heavy: "Do you know what this failure means to us?"

Father of Ultra raised his head, a trace of determination flashing in his eyes: "Father, we understand. On the Aelia Continent in the ancient era, Hu Yulun and others are slowly rising, and their existence will be a huge threat to the order of history. But the Eastern Heavenly Court, headed by the Jade Emperor, is too powerful, so powerful that we feel despair."

Ultraman then said, "But we will not give up, even if the road ahead is endless darkness and death, we will fight for justice and our mission."

Eiji Tsuburaya stood up, his gaze deep and far away, and slowly said: "Children, the road ahead is full of blood and suffering, but our faith must not be shaken. You must draw strength from this failure and prepare for even more brutal challenges."

Father of Ultra and Ultraman responded in unison, "Yes, Father! Even if we are ground to dust, we will give it our all!"

Eiji Tsuburaya slowly walked to Father of Ultra and Ultraman. He extended his hands and gently helped them up. Father of Ultra and Ultraman looked at Eiji Tsuburaya, their eyes filled with both remorse and determination.

Eiji Tsuburaya's gaze was profound as he spoke earnestly, "My children, failure is not scary. What is scary is losing the courage to fight again. This setback is just a test that fate has given us."

Father of Ultra clenched his fists, his voice low and firm, "Father, we understand. This failure has allowed us to see our own shortcomings and to understand the enemy's strength more clearly. But we will not be afraid; we will regroup."

Ultraman's eyes flashed with resolute light, "That's right, Father. We will go back and diligently train our skills, improve our strength, and we will definitely redeem ourselves next time."

Eiji Tsuburaya nodded slightly, a hint of a smile appearing on his face, "Very good. But before that, we need to thoroughly summarize our experiences and analyze every detail of this battle."

The three of them sat together and began to carefully review that brutal battle.

Father of Ultra frowned, saying heavily, "That Guan Yu's swordsmanship was truly extremely fierce. Each of his moves seemed to contain the power of heaven and earth; we couldn't resist them at all."

Ultraman gritted his teeth and said, "And then there's Sun Wukong. His agility and adaptability make him impossible to defend against; he always attacks us in places we don't expect."

Eiji Tsuburaya pondered for a moment and said, "This shows that they not only have strong individual strength, but also have a very tacit understanding of tactical cooperation. We are indeed lacking in this aspect."

Father of Ultra took a deep breath: "Father, Master Tang Monk's Buddhist Dharma is even more mysterious. His scriptures seem to have an invisible power that can weaken our light skills."

Ultraman added, "The sacrifice of Dark Tiga and Camilla makes me heartbroken. They both fought for their mission, and we can't let them sacrifice themselves in vain."

Eiji Tsuburaya patted their shoulders and comforted them, "Their bravery will be remembered, and we must carry on with their will."

After the discussion, Father of Ultra and Ultraman returned to the training ground and began arduous training.

Father of Ultra released his light skills again and again, sweat soaking his body, but his eyes were always firm. Ultraman kept practicing his fighting skills, and every punch was filled with anger and determination.

At the same time, in the ancient Aelia Continent, Hu Yulun and others were also constantly growing and developing.

Hu Yulun stood on the mountaintop, gazing into the distance, his heart filled with both anticipation and worry for the future: "We must become stronger to face the coming crisis."

Isabella said from the side, "Yes, the Ultra Clan won't give up easily. We need to be prepared."

Aiden brandished the weapon in his hand and said loudly, "No matter what, we won't back down."

Merlin closed his eyes, silently casting a spell, feeling the surge of power.

Meanwhile, in the Heavenly Court in the East, the Jade Emperor summoned all the gods to discuss countermeasures.

The Jade Emperor's expression was serious: "Although the Ultra Clan's invasion this time was repelled, they will not give up. We must strengthen our defenses and improve our own strength."

The gods nodded in agreement. Sun Wukong scratched his ears and cheeks and said, "Old Jade Emperor, this old Sun will definitely redouble my cultivation, and next time I'll make sure those guys never return!"

Zhu Bajie (Pigsy) snorted and said, "That's right, this old pig won't be lazy either."

Sha Wujing said calmly, "Rest assured, Jade Emperor, we will certainly protect the Heavenly Court."

Time flew by, and the Father of Ultra and Ultraman's strength had significantly improved.

The Father of Ultra felt the powerful energy within his body and thought to himself, This time, we will definitely win.

Ultraman looked at the sky and muttered to himself, "Brothers, wait for us to avenge you."

Finally, another great battle was about to begin…
