Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Flowers for the Goddess

Soon, Ais and I split up and headed to the guild, where most of the people were preparing for something.

Approaching Eina, I asked.

"Did something happen?" she nodded.

"Something strange is happening in the dungeon... For some unknown reason, many floors were covered in ice, and monsters were present on those floors. The guild wants to appoint an expedition to determine the cause of this phenomenon," the girl said.

"Ah... Well, actually, it's my fault, I just couldn't hold back," I said, and after my words, the papers she was holding fell to the floor.

"What... What did you say?" she asked, stunned.

"This ice appeared because I didn't hold back enough," I replied simply.

If I hadn't held back at all, I would have been sure I'd destroyed the entire dungeon, and I didn't want that. The dungeon is an integral part of this world, and I like this world, ever since my past life, when I watched anime.

"I... I need to report to the guildmaster," she said, still in shock.

"Wait. I don't care about the guildmaster, so don't expect me to talk to him. I just need money," I said, waving my hand, and many large bags of stones fell out of the portal next to me.

"I want valises for these stones," I said, causing Eina to stare in shock at the large number of bags. She was surprised, either by my spatial storage or by the number of bags I had, hiding from the monsters.

"This... How is this possible?" she asked in shock, but in fact, she wasn't the only one shocked; I could feel practically everyone's eyes on me.

There was even Bell, the anime's main character, looking at me... with a loving gaze...

Ugh!

Let him even dare approach me, or I'll kill him!

"So, can I get my money?" I asked, shaking Eina out of her stupor...

"We... We'll need time to count everything and gather the required amount of valis..." she said.

"I can come get the money tomorrow. For now, give me what you have," I said, to which she nodded and, like a robot, handed me the money.

I took the money bag and turned to leave, and fortunately no one stopped me, or...

"Stop!" I heard a shout, but I didn't care.

I ignored the shout, which came from a man. If it had been a woman, I would have stopped, but no, thank you!

Judging by the whisper I heard, it was apparently the guildmaster, a god whose name I didn't remember, and I didn't care.

I heard the shout a few more times as I walked, but it soon stopped, and following the road, I found myself at a flower shop.

"Welcome," I heard the voice of a woman, who was already quite old.

And indeed, behind the counter, surrounded by flowers, stood an elderly lady, smiling at me. She exuded the aura of a kind grandmother.

"Good afternoon, Grandma," I said with a smile, to which she chuckled. "It's been a while since anyone called me that. Oh, if only I had such a beautiful granddaughter," she said.

"Thank you for the compliment," I said, smiling.

"Anyway, dear, are you looking for something specific? And for what occasion? I have a lot of different flowers," she said.

"I want to give flowers to my girlfriend, even though we're not in a relationship, but I hope that changes soon…" I said, blushing slightly. Fortunately, she wasn't embarrassed by my open admission of my preferences.

"Ah, youth…" she said dreamily.

"I recently bred a new type of orchid," she said, pointing to the orchids, which were a heavenly blue mixed with pink.

I've never seen such beautiful orchids, with their unique coloring.

"They're perfect, I think she'll like them," I said automatically.

I don't know what Hestia's favorite flowers are, but even I, who have no preferences, really liked them.

"Okay, I'll wrap them for you," she said, preparing the packaging. I simply watched as she quickly and professionally created the bouquet.

I hope Hestia likes my gift; with this gesture, I can even test the waters to see if she's okay with the relationship.

Of course, I could simply seduce her with my charm, but I don't want to do that. I want to build a relationship based on normal development. The same goes for my future girlfriends.

I still need to think about what Lumin and Jean should say to me...

What they feel for me can hardly be called love, because that's not how love works. Yes, I don't dispute that love at first sight exists. But in my case, it could happen to any girl I meet. I don't want every girl to simply fall in love with me.

In any case, as soon as I return to Teyvat, I'll give our relationship time to develop. I'll probably go on a couple of dates with them and see if what they feel for me can truly be recognized as love.

And then there's Arturia...

How difficult it is to start a harem...

In any case, having bought the flowers, I headed home, if you can call it home, but in this case, home is an abstract concept, and it refers not to the building, but to Hestia...

The only thing I needed was some philosophical thoughts...
