Chapter 5 - A Path Without Guidance

Students slowly spread across the first floor of the Grand Library.

The gold, blue, and red sections began filling up quickly.

The Harmony section… remained quiet.

Dev stood still for a moment, watching others walk confidently toward their paths.

Then he exhaled softly.

"Vansh…" he said.

"Yeah?"

Dev looked at his hands, then back at him.

"I don't think… I'll be able to use any of the breathing techniques."

Vansh frowned. "What do you mean?"

"I mean… I don't connect with Brahma, Vishnu, or Mahesh," Dev said quietly."I can't even feel their breathing styles."

For the first time, there was no confusion in his voice.

Only honesty.

"So…" he continued, glancing toward the fourth section,"I'll go to the Harmony section and read some books."

Vansh raised an eyebrow. "There? Everyone's avoiding that place."

Dev gave a small shrug.

"Even if I can't master it… at least I'll learn something.""It might help me in physical and basic combat classes."

There was a brief silence.

Aditya stepped forward slightly, his expression thoughtful.

"…He's right," he said.

Both Dev and Vansh looked at him.

"In our sections, he won't be able to use anything effectively," Aditya continued calmly."But Harmony… at least it gives him a direction."

He looked at Dev.

"When exams come… he'll need something."

Vansh scratched his head, thinking.

"…Hmm."

He glanced toward the quiet Harmony section, then back at Dev.

Then he smirked.

"Alright. Your risk."

Dev smiled faintly. "Yeah."

Vansh pointed at him.

"Two hours. We meet back here."

"Done."

Aditya nodded once. "We'll cover our sections and regroup."

Without another word, the three split.

Vansh walked toward the red-lit Mahesh section.

Aditya turned toward the golden Brahma shelves.

And Dev—

Dev stepped into the silent Harmony section.

No glow welcomed him.

No reaction.

Just rows of untouched knowledge.

For the first time since arriving at the academy…

Dev didn't feel lost.

He felt like he had taken a step forward.

The Harmony section was quieter than the rest of the library.

No glow.No crowd.No pressure.

Dev walked slowly between the shelves, scanning the titles.

Most of the books felt… distant. Not difficult—just not useful yet.

After wandering for a while, he stopped.

I won't be able to use any technique like this…

He frowned slightly.

First, I need to increase my spiritual energy.Only then can I actually use anything.

With that thought, he started searching more carefully.

Row after row. Shelf after shelf.

Nothing.

Until—

At the far end of the section, he noticed something different.

A small, almost hidden corner.

Only two books rested there.

Dev walked toward it.

"That's… odd."

He reached out and placed his hand on one of the books—

And suddenly—

The title appeared.

Tri-Deva Breath

Dev's eyes widened.

"It wasn't there before…"

For a moment, he just stared at it.

Then slowly, he opened the book.

Inside, there were no long explanations.

Only a breathing method—simple, structured, precise.

A way to circulate energy through the body.

Dev sat down immediately.

"Let's try…"

He followed the instructions exactly as written.

Inhale… slow… controlled…Hold… steady…Exhale… deeper… longer…

At first—nothing.

Then—

A faint sensation.

Warmth.

Very small. Almost unnoticeable.

But real.

Dev focused harder, repeating the cycle again and again.

Time passed.

The world around him faded.

Only breath remained.

Only rhythm.

Gradually, that warmth began to grow.

It moved through his body—unsteady at first, then smoother.

Dev guided it carefully, just like the book described.

Toward the base of his spine.

The first chakra.

He pushed the energy gently—

Not forcing it.

Just guiding.

And then—

A soft shift.

Like something unlocking from within.

His eyes snapped open.

"…It worked."

His breathing slowed naturally.

The energy inside him felt… stable.

Alive.

He looked at his hands, slightly shocked.

"One hour…?"

He glanced around.

Students outside had barely progressed this far.

Most people take days… even weeks… to awaken their first chakra…

Some were already close to opening their second—but they had trained for years.

Dev sat there in silence for a moment.

Then he shook his head lightly.

"No point thinking about that."

A small smile formed.

"At least one chakra is open."

He stood up.

I still have time.

"Thirty minutes…"

He looked around again.

"This time… something simple."

He moved through the Harmony section more quickly now, scanning for basic techniques.

After some searching, he found a set of beginner texts.

Three techniques.

Stone Body — defensive reinforcement Wind Step — speed and movement Iron Finger — focused attack

Dev picked them up and read carefully.

Each technique was simple in theory—

But required control.

Balance.

He read each one once… slowly.

Understanding the idea.

Not mastering it.

Not yet.

"That's enough for now."

He placed the books back and walked toward the exit.

As he stepped out of the Harmony section, one thought stayed in his mind—

Harmony doesn't focus on one thing.

Other breath styles specialize…

" Mahesh Breath specializes in destruction and power.Vishnu Breath specializes in control and speed.Brahma Breath specializes in defense and ancient knowledge.

Harmony…it tries to combines all three fighting styles."

Dev exhaled slowly.

"Let's see how far this takes me."

And with that, he walked back toward the main hall—

Ready to meet Vansh and Aditya.
