"No.. I say no Liam. I understand that you had to call me. It's your duty but I say no. She really hurt us a lot. She stained our family. She insulted us and she doesn't belong in our family anymore. So no. Let her go to the institution for those three months," Mark said in a completely cold tone.
"Mark. It's about your daughter.. I wouldn't just leave James like that either, because he's my son. He has a very bad concussion and burns on his hands.. And if you don't take her, she'll go to an orphanage," I said but it didn't even move him.
"No. I say no. Don't be angry but I don't even want to see her anymore," he said and hung up. I sighed and looked at Chris, who was still in my office.
"So? I guess they said no, right?" he asked me and raised an eyebrow. I shook my head.
"He said no. She'll have to go to a foster home for 3 months.. I have to call Becky.. It's my duty," I said and called her. A moment later she picked up.
"I have a girl here. Daisy Fly and she's 20 years old. She's 3 months away from becoming an adult. She was found in a park. Her family refused to take her in. She has burns on her hands and a severe concussion, otherwise she's fine," I said and closed my eyes.
"Okay.. I'll be there Liam.. But she'll definitely have to go to a foster home. You know how it works. If she's not an adult, she has to go," she said and hung up. I stood up from my chair. I felt bad about it. Nothing could ever break me.
"I'll go see her. I'll talk to her," I said and walked away. I came to her room. She was lying on the bed. Her hands and head were bandaged. She looked at me and looked away.
"You again?" she said quietly. I sat down on the chair next to her and looked at her. She looked into my eyes, with immense hatred.
"Daisy.. You're underage.. I called your parents but they refused to take you in. I don't know what you did to them.. I had to report it to the authorities. It was my duty. They have to take you to a children's home," I said. She looked at me and threw a pillow at me.
"Get out. Do you understand? Get out! You know shit about me and my life! Who asked you to do that? "I certainly don't," she screamed at me. No one had ever scolded me like she had. She had no respect.
"Could you calm down? It's not my fault what happened. I wanted to help you,"
"I don't want your help! I don't need your help. Is that clear? Wherever I show up, you'll show up too. I don't know what you're on about but leave me alone! And I'm not going to that orphanage," she screamed loudly
"I'll give you something to calm down,"
"If you give me something to calm down, if you come near me with that injection, I'll kill you. Do you hear me? I'm serious. Leave me alone. Don't worry about my life Liam! Focus on your son but leave me alone. I didn't ask you for help!,,"
,,Okay, that's enough! Don't insult me Daisy. I wanted to help you. You're annoying. I understand now why my son couldn't stand you. You're unbearable," I screamed loudly. She came to me and wanted to slap me. I smiled and grabbed her hand. She screamed in pain. Her whole hands were bandaged. I let her go.
,,Why are you doing this? You're in pain. You're burned," I said and Becky came in. Daisy looked at me with a sad look and sat on the bed.
,,Is that her? How is she? When can she leave?,," Becky asked, writing something down on her papers. I saw pain, fear, anxiety in her eyes.
"She has a bad concussion and burns on her hands. She needs to stay here for a few days," I said. Daisy lay down on the bed and closed her eyes.
In a way, I was worried about what would happen to her. I looked at Daisy and back at Becky.
"And if someone were to be found, who would take her? Is there no other solution but a children's home?" I asked Becky.
"I talked to her parents. They gave her up. There is no other solution but a children's home and you know that. You know the whole process. We have known each other for many years and we have solved several problems. And even if someone wanted to take her, there are strict conditions there. Thank you for calling me,"
,,Can we talk to Becky? Alone?,,"
,,Sure," she said and smiled. I looked at Daisy who was lying on the bed crying. I gave her one last look and we walked away. We arrived at the office. Becky looked at me and raised an eyebrow.
,,Daisy was my son's ex-girlfriend and I was really touched by what happened to her and.. Becky.. We've known each other for so many years. We've been through so many things and so I was thinking of taking her with me for the three months," I said.
,,Are you sure Liam? Won't it be a burden for you?,,"
,,I can handle it. Daisy is my son James' age," I said and sat down in the chair. She smiled and sat down opposite me.
"Okay.. Let's get to know each other, then I'll trust you. Here's some information about her that you should know before you do anything.. And if you say yes, we'll sign the papers tomorrow and she's in your custody. Daisy Fly is 20 years old. She's the adopted daughter of Mark Fly and Lily Fly,"
"Wait.. She's not their biological daughter?,"
"No.. You didn't know that, Liam? They adopted her many years ago. Daisy is not their biological daughter butmshe doesn't know.. no one knows.. I'm telling you this because you want her in your care. It won't be easy, I'm telling you straight up, especially with the job you have. I never thought you'd tell me this one day,"
"I have reasons why I want to do this Becky.. It's only for three months," I said and smiled.
