Chapter Forty-Nine – Zayn's Girlfriend
Silence stretched between them after Zahid's last words.
Angel stood frozen, her mouth slightly open, the words she had been gathering courage to speak dissolving on her tongue. The confession she had been bracing herself to release, to tell Zahid about the twins, about everything, slipped back into the tight vault she had built around her heart, she couldn't let a moment of affection ruin everything she had planned, yes she'll tell Zahid, but there are more pressing matter to address, more serious issues that's know to her and only her, she didn't know who to trust anymore but herself.
Zahid watched her carefully. Not the way a man watches a woman he wants to have just for the sake of having, but the way a man watches the woman he wants to own, the woman he owns, but too scared to come too close, afraid he might break her, afraid that doing the wrong thing may shatter her.
