Chapter 20 - A big family

The Thompsons were gathered in the kitchen, and cookies were disappearing before it was even served. The doorbell suddenly rang. Erica: "Are you expecting anyone, Mom?" "I was about to ask you that," Mrs. Thompson replied. "Or did any of you two invite your friends over?" The twins shook their heads sideways in unison.

The doorbell rang again. "I will go get it," Erica said as she made her way to the door… A red-haired girl stared at him without saying a word. Like she was taking in his features or scrutinizing him.

Issac completely ignored her curious eyes; he was used to attention like this. "His high..." Damon said,"I should give you this," Issac said, stretching out his hand holding a carefully wrapped item.

"I think you have the wrong house," Erica finally spoke. Issac: "You are Miss Erica Thompson, right?" He said it's his way of saying thanks for saving his life.

Mrs. Thompson soon showed up behind her. "Oh, that is very nice of him," Erica said, receiving the mysterious item, lost in her own thoughts.

"I will be on my way now," Issac said, turning to leave, but he was dragged inside by Mrs. Thompson. All he heard while being pulled was, "You can't just leave like that; come have some cookies."

"I beg to decline, Mrs. Thompson," Issac's words were barely complete before he was pulled to a seat by Mrs. Thompson.

Issac could feel different eyes on him as he was served the cookies. Lucy was holding a grudge with a glare that could kill because he got the remaining cookies. Luca found him fascinating and cool; Erica could swear she knew him from somewhere, and Mrs. Thompson wouldn't take her eyes off him until he ate the cookies.

Issac felt like a prey surrounded by ecstatic predators, which is ironic because he was a vampire surrounded by defenseless humans.

"Do you want more cookies? Let me get you some more," Mrs. Thompson asked with doting eyes.

Issac was used to this kind of attention; it was pretty convenient when he was to feed, as humans would literally offer themselves to him. But he was creeped out a little by Mrs. Thompson's mothering gaze.

"Wait!… Mrs. Thompson, I don't want more cookies, I'm already full," Issac rambled. But it was too late, because she had already left.

Sigh….. Erica's eyes slowly widened in sudden enlightenment. "You are the guy from the club," she blurted out.

Issac looked back at her. "Do I know you, miss?" He wasn't one to remember faces.

"You are Master Issac," said Erica.

"Master Issac?" Issac said with an eyebrow raised.

"Oh, sorry; that's how Zara addressed you the other day. Sorry if it sounded like I was trying… to be familiar with you," said Erica.

"A friend of Countess Moon,That is interesting. I don't mind being called Master Issac."
