"Seventeen. He's just a seventeen-year-old kid!"
"But the strength of his Conqueror's Haki is already on par with the top pirates of this era."
"This makes no sense at all."
Sengoku and Zephyr both felt shaken to the core. They simply couldn't believe what they'd just witnessed. The whole thing felt impossible.Especially after hearing from Garp not long ago that the boy had only trained for seven days.
"This isn't a monster anymore. It's…"
"A miracle," Sengoku muttered, his voice trembling.
He had never seen anyone like this. A kid who supposedly knew nothing, yet could not only awaken Conqueror's Haki, but even infuse it, something only the strongest of the strong could do.
"And he managed to knock out Sakazuki without so much as scratching anyone else."
"His control over Conqueror's Haki is already refined," Zephyr agreed.
Both men were absolute peaks of power in this era, so their judgment was solid. The three young "monsters" of the Navy's new generation were strong, yes, but they were still newcomers. Aokiji had only been in the Navy for two years.
And yet none of them could withstand what that boy unleashed. Even some officers a rank above them would have struggled.
After calming his own shock, Sengoku looked toward Garp, who was currently whacking his black-haired disciple on the head while lecturing him loudly. Sengoku couldn't help laughing with a hint of emotion.
Aokiji and Borsalino knelt beside the unconscious Sakazuki, patting his cheeks anxiously and yelling for a medic.
"Sakazuki, twenty-eight.""Borsalino, thirty-one."
"They joined the Navy in the same year. Both are your students."
"Aokiji's younger, twenty-two."
Sengoku took a deep breath, then glanced again at the boy clutching his head and yelling in pain.
"And Garp's disciple, Kyle… seventeen.""Yet his starting point is already higher than the other three combined."
"If he gets proper guidance…"
A slow grin spread across Sengoku's face.
"I can almost see it already. The future of the Navy. Brilliant, towering… the next generation grown and thriving. A new age of an even stronger Navy."
Zephyr just stood there, stunned, clearly lost in thought.
"Zephyr, the job of teaching the younger generation still falls on you. Garp's too carefree, he's absolutely not suited for training anyone. I'm worried he'll lead Kyle down the wrong path."
Sengoku let out a sigh as the medics carried Sakazuki away on a stretcher.
"I understand," Zephyr said with a nod.
The two turned and walked off.
Soon after, the entire G–5 base practically exploded with noise.
"Sakazuki lost?""A newcomer took him out in one move! Apparently he's Vice Admiral Garp's disciple!""Another monster, seriously?"
The fight had been short, so news spread instantly. Within minutes, Kyle's name buzzed through the whole base.
"What a terrifying monster you are, Mr. Kyle," Borsalino said with a click of his tongue, eyes glittering with admiration.
That overwhelming presence earlier… he couldn't even tell what it was. He only knew his very soul had trembled, leaving him unable to resist. And Sakazuki — who had joined the Navy the same year as him — got knocked out the moment he stepped forward.
If that wasn't a monster, what was?
"Borsalino-san, you're the monster here," Kyle replied with a smile.
Aokiji sat nearby rubbing his forehead, looking completely speechless. He glanced sideways at the black-haired teen. The two massive bumps on Kyle's head stacked together like someone had glued a black gourd on him.
"Oh, right. Aokiji, have you heard the rumor?" Borsalino asked, beaming.
"What rumor?" Aokiji frowned.
"A commendation from HQ for outstanding young marines."
Aokiji froze.
"It's probably meant for the three of us," Borsalino continued, still smiling. "Well, four now, counting Mr. Kyle."
Aokiji paused at that but didn't comment.
"There's a chance the reward is a Devil Fruit," Borsalino added as he licked his lips.
Aokiji's expression finally shifted. "That'd be one hell of a reward."
Kyle had been quietly listening, and the news hit him like a bolt.
If the commendation really involved Devil Fruits…Then that meant the future Three Admirals would soon receive their iconic fruits.
Back in his previous life, fans had always debated when the Admirals actually got their powers. Some argued they'd eaten the fruits before joining the Navy.Others thought they got them later by sheer luck.
And there was a third theory — that after joining the Navy and proving themselves as "monsters," the World Government assigned them the three Logia fruits.
All three theories were possible, but Kyle always believed the third one made the most sense.CP9's access to fruits alone showed the World Government had significant control over their distribution. Many high-ranking marines also had Devil Fruit abilities.
So it was reasonable to assume the Navy had the authority to allocate fruits.
If all these fruits were obtained randomly by individuals, the coincidences would be absurd. A structured distribution fit far better.
"Will they really give out three Logia fruits?" Kyle wondered.
The original story never explained it. Fans had only ever guessed. And this world — the "real" version he'd crossed into — might not line up perfectly with canon. His presence might even be shifting the timeline.
"Also, things in the New World — the Ed War seas — are blowing up again," Borsalino said, finally turning serious.
"A clash between pirate titans might be unavoidable. The whole world's watching. HQ is on full alert under Commander Kong."
Aokiji's expression hardened. Kyle continued listening quietly.
He knew the Ed War well. It was the most dangerous moment for Roger's crew, when they narrowly escaped being wiped out by Shiki's forces. That battle alone showed how terrifying the era's three legendary pirates truly were — their power was nearly equal, with Shiki at his absolute peak.
The next few days at G–5 were calm on the surface, but Kyle could feel the tension rising. More and more forces were being sent from HQ.
He trained his Rokushiki techniques in silence, waiting for orders from above.
"The three legendary pirates," he murmured."I'm looking forward to it."
