A/N: Alright may people. I need your help. I'm planning on writing my own original novel. I have the story planned out and everything. I'm just missing the powers of the main cast. (Three of them including the MC)
Can you all throw in some cool ideas or me. I wanted something unique. Especially for the MC, and it must have progression value. Not something overused and simple like Fire, Ice, Thunder etc. Unless you can find cool ways to incorporate it.
Thank you in Advance.
##
The shoreline trembled.
Not from the sea—
But from the pressure building between two people.
Wind curled around the rocks.
Salt in the air.
Steel in the silence.
Gion stood poised, blade forward, stance perfect.
Every inch of her posture screamed discipline.
Control.
Precision.
Across from her—
Balanced loosely on a jagged rock—
Was Giovanni.
Relaxed.
Almost lazy.
Like this wasn't a battlefield—
But a conversation.
"…You really going through with this?"
Giovanni asked, tilting his head.
Gion didn't answer.
Her foot shifted.
CRACK.
The rock beneath her split slightly—
Pressure.
Intent.
"…Last chance," she said calmly.
"…Come quietly."
Giovanni blinked.
"…Yeah…"
He scratched his cheek.
"…That's not happening."
A beat.
"…Figures."
And then—
BOOM.
She vanished.
The air ruptured where she had stood—
A shockwave exploding outward.
Giovanni's eyes sharpened instantly.
CLANG—!
Steel met steel.
Sparks erupted in a violent spray—
Lighting up the coastline like fireworks.
Gion's blade had already reached his neck—
Perfect angle.
Perfect speed.
Blocked.
Barely.
Giovanni's sword pressed against hers—
His body leaning back just enough to avoid the killing edge.
"…Fast."
He muttered.
Gion didn't respond.
She twisted—
WHIP—!
A second strike—
From below.
Giovanni kicked off the rock—
BOOM—!
The stone beneath him shattered—
Exploding into debris.
He flipped backward—
Landing lightly on another rock as fragments rained into the sea.
Gion followed.
Relentless.
FLASH—
She was already there.
Her blade cut horizontally—
A clean, lethal arc.
Giovanni ducked.
The slash carved through the air—
Splitting a wave behind him in half.
Water burst apart—
Spraying skyward like shattered glass.
"…You're not holding back at all, huh."
"…I don't need to."
Her voice was cold.
Another step—
Another strike—
Faster.
Sharper.
Giovanni pivoted—
His body twisting just enough—
SHING—!
The blade skimmed past his shoulder—
Cutting a strand of hair clean off.
His eyes flickered.
'She's serious.'
A smile tugged at his lips.
"…Good."
He pushed forward.
For the first time—
CLANG—!
Their blades collided head-on.
A shockwave rippled outward—
The ocean itself recoiling from the impact.
Black sparks flickered between them.
Gion's blade was coated—
Jet black.
Solid.
Unyielding.
Giovanni's sword—
Also coated.
He slid his blade along hers—
Redirecting the force.
Then—
WHOOSH—!
A kick.
Gion blocked with her forearm—
BOOM—!
The impact sent her skidding backward—
Boots tearing through rock.
She stopped.
Eyes narrowing.
"…You've gotten stronger."
Giovanni shrugged.
"…Had a good teacher."
A pause.
"…Still not enough."
Her foot pressed down.
And then—
BOOM—!
She launched upward.
The ground cracked beneath her—
And suddenly—
She was—
Running.
On air.
STEP—STEP—STEP—
Each step created a burst—
Compressed air exploding beneath her feet.
She ascended effortlessly—
Higher—
And higher—
Until she stood—
Above him.
Looking down.
"…Geppo."
Her voice echoed.
"…Let's see how you deal with this."
She vanished again—
From above—
A vertical slash—
Descending like judgment itself.
Giovanni looked up.
"…Oh."
A beat.
"…That's cool."
And then—
He bent his knees.
BOOM.
He kicked.
The air beneath his foot—
Exploded.
And suddenly—
He didn't fall.
He stepped again.
STEP.
Then again.
STEP—STEP—STEP—
He rose.
Just like her.
Standing mid-air.
Casual.
Like it was the most natural thing in the world.
Silence.
Gion froze mid-step.
"…What?"
Her eyes widened.
"…How are you—"
Giovanni grinned.
"…Oh this?"
He took another step in the air—
Testing it.
"…Yeah, I just kicked really hard."
"…That's not an explanation!"
He laughed.
"…I mean…"
He scratched his cheek.
"…I kinda just kept running until it worked."
Inwardly—
'Okay yeah that sounds stupid…'
'But that's literally how that cook explained it.'
'Just run. Don't think. Eventually you don't fall.'
'…Gaban was way too excited when I figured it out.'
Back to reality—
Gion's expression hardened again.
"…Don't get cocky."
Her stance shifted mid-air—
Perfect balance.
"…This doesn't put you on my level."
The air around her sharpened.
Her blade darkened further—
Armament thickening.
"…It just means…"
She vanished.
"…I can hit you anywhere now."
BOOM—!
She reappeared behind him—
Slash already in motion.
Giovanni twisted mid-air—
CLANG—!
The impact rang out like thunder.
Both figures suspended in the sky—
Trading blows—
CLANG—CLANG—CLANG—
Each strike sent ripples through the air—
Shockwaves bursting outward—
Distorting the clouds above them.
Giovanni moved fluidly—
Dodging.
Redirecting.
His Observation Haki flaring—
Every movement predicted—
Every strike narrowly avoided.
But—
He wasn't attacking seriously.
Gion noticed.
Of course she did.
Her eyes narrowed.
"…You're not taking this seriously."
Giovanni blocked another strike—
Sliding back mid-air.
"…I am."
"…No."
She stepped forward—
Air cracking beneath her feet.
"…You're playing."
A pause.
"…Don't."
Her voice dropped.
"…Disrespect me like that."
The air tightened.
Giovanni exhaled slowly.
"…Alright…"
His grip on his sword shifted—
Just slightly.
Not fully serious.
But—
Closer.
"…Then show me something worth respecting."
The sky between them—
Cracked.
And the fight—
Escalated.
The sky cracked with movement.
CLANG—!
Steel rang out again—
But this time—
Something changed.
Giovanni exhaled slowly.
"…Alright."
His stance shifted.
Subtle.
Almost invisible.
But—
To Gion—
It felt like the entire battlefield tilted.
Her instincts screamed.
Danger.
She moved first.
BOOM—!
A burst of air—
She shot forward—
Blade cutting in a precise diagonal arc.
Fast.
Lethal.
Perfect.
But—
Too late.
Giovanni vanished.
Her blade cut through empty air.
A heartbeat.
Silence.
Then—
"…Sorry."
Her eyes widened.
Behind her.
Too close.
Too fast.
Before she could react—
An arm wrapped around her.
Firm.
Controlled.
Not violent—
But absolute.
Her sword—
Stopped.
A blade—
Lightly—
Pressed against her neck.
Stillness.
The wind died.
"…What…"
Her voice came out low.
Dangerously calm.
"…did you just do?"
Giovanni sighed behind her.
"…Yeah…"
"…This is gonna look bad."
Below—
The Marines froze.
Dozens of eyes snapped upward.
Vice Admiral—
Captured.
Just like that.
"…Vice Admiral Gion?!"
"…He got her—?!"
"…Impossible—!"
In the sky—
Gion's jaw tightened.
"…Let go."
"…I can't."
"…Let. Go."
"…I really can't."
A pause.
"…I need a boat."
Silence.
"…You WHAT?"
Giovanni winced.
"…Okay, listen when I say it like that it sounds stupid—"
"…Because it is stupid!"
"…No, no, wait. Hear me out—"
He raised his free hand slightly.
"…I'm stranded."
"…You're the Navy."
"…You have boats."
"…I need one."
Another pause.
"…So you decided to take a Vice Admiral hostage."
"…When you say it like that—"
"…It sounds bad."
"…IT IS BAD!"
Below—
The Marines were already scrambling.
Weapons drawn.
Panic rising.
"…Release the Vice Admiral!"
"…Pirate scum—!"
"…You're surrounded!"
Giovanni blinked.
"…I mean…"
He looked around.
"…Technically I'm above you."
"…THAT'S NOT THE POINT!"
He sighed.
"…Okay… okay…"
"…Let's just… go down."
STEP—STEP—STEP—
He descended through the air—
Still holding Gion firmly.
She didn't struggle.
Didn't panic.
But her eyes—
Sharp.
Calculating.
Waiting.
They landed.
Right in front—
Of the Marine camp.
Dozens of rifles instantly pointed at him.
Swords drawn.
Tension thick enough to choke on.
"…Put her down."
"…Yeah, no."
"…That's not happening."
Giovanni smiled awkwardly.
"…Look guys…"
"…I'm not a bad guy."
"…You're holding a Vice Admiral hostage."
"…Okay, yes, but there's context—"
"…WHAT CONTEXT MAKES THIS BETTER?!"
Giovanni rubbed his head.
"…I'm desperate?"
Silence.
"…That made it worse."
"…Yeah…"
"…I felt that as I said it."
A Marine officer stepped forward.
"…You think we'll negotiate with a criminal?"
Giovanni blinked.
"…You kinda have to?"
He lightly adjusted his blade—
Not cutting—
But reminding.
"…I don't want to hurt her."
"…Seriously."
"…She's—"
He paused.
"…She's actually pretty cool."
Gion's face—
Turned red.
"…Shut up."
"…I'm being serious—"
"…Shut. Up."
The Marines looked even more furious.
"…You dare speak to Vice Admiral Gion like that—?!"
"…No no, I mean that respectfully—"
"…STOP TALKING!"
Giovanni groaned.
"…Why is this getting worse…"
A long pause.
Then—
The officer exhaled.
"…What do you want?"
Giovanni straightened.
"…Boat."
"…Small one."
"…Food would be nice too."
"…You're making demands now."
"…I mean, yeah…"
He gestured slightly.
"…Hostage situation."
"…You're unbelievable."
Gion sighed.
"…Just give him the boat."
"…Vice Admiral—?!"
"…He's not killing me."
She glanced back slightly—
Eyes narrowing at Giovanni.
"…Right?"
"…Right!"
Giovanni nodded immediately.
"…100% right."
"…Then give him the boat."
The officer hesitated—
Then gritted his teeth.
"…Fine."
"…Prepare a vessel!"
Chaos moved.
Orders barked.
A small coated ship was quickly brought forward—
Loaded.
Ready.
Minutes later—
Giovanni stood at the edge of the dock.
Still holding Gion.
"…Alright…"
"…This is where I let you go."
"…You think?"
"…Hey, I kept my word."
"…No injuries."
"…Mostly."
Gion scoffed.
"…You're insufferable."
"…I get that a lot."
A pause.
Then—
He stepped back.
Letting her go.
The tension snapped.
Marines rushed forward—
Surrounding her instantly.
Weapons raised again.
But—
She raised a hand.
"…Stand down."
They froze.
Gion stepped forward slowly—
Eyes locked on Giovanni.
"…You're unbelievable."
Giovanni grinned.
"…You're welcome?"
"…For what?"
"…Not killing you."
"…You weren't capable of it."
"…Ouch."
He stepped onto the boat.
Turning back.
The wind picked up—
Cloak fluttering.
Sunlight catching his face.
And then—
He winked.
"…See you again."
He blew her a kiss.
Silence.
Gion froze.
Her face—
Exploded red.
"…YOU—!"
"…I will capture you next time!"
She shouted—
Pointing her blade at him.
"…You vile pirate!"
Giovanni laughed.
"…Looking forward to it!"
The boat pushed off.
Slowly drifting away.
Gion stood there—
Watching.
Fuming.
Blushing.
Conflicted.
"…That idiot…"
Behind her—
The Marines whispered.
"…Did the Vice Admiral just—"
"…Don't finish that sentence."
Far out at sea—
Giovanni stretched—
Laying back on the boat.
Exhaling deeply.
"…That went… surprisingly well."
