I burst into a fit of laughter, the sound echoing through the quiet apartment.
Beck pouted, looking at me with narrowed eyes. "What's so funny?"
"Nothing, nothing," I managed to say, though I was still grinning.
He started tapping my chest with his fingers, demanding I speak up. "You're twenty-two, Beck," I said. "Out of everything you could ask for… a teddy bear?"
"My birthday is in two weeks," he defended, a light blush dusting his cheeks. "I want something big in my room. Something that makes it feel less empty when I'm by myself."
I raised an eyebrow and pulled him closer. "And who, exactly, is this teddy bear meant to represent?"
Beck just smiled at me, his eyes dancing with a secret. I started to tickle his sides, making him squirm and giggle against the cushions until he finally gasped for air.
