The crowd cheered as the knights in golden armour dragged a knight in broken silver armour.
"Kill the traitor ████ !!" The crowd screemed.
"YOU KILLED MY CHILD ,YOU FUCKING MONSTER! WHY! WHY! WHY!" A greving mother screemed letting all her rage and grief be felt. She tried lung at him but the golden knights stoped her.
"We..We trusted you....sheltered you! Yet...Yet this is how you repay! Zel, morvan, cen trusted you and followed even with your muddy origins!" A old bearded man looked at him with a betrayed look, the broken knight's silenced enraged him further as he gripped his fist tighter till blood started dripping out.
The broken knight was escorted towards the stage in middle of City square , his head now bellow the sharp blades of guillotine.
A huge crowd has gathered, all anticipating his execution. Yet , the highest authority wasn't present.
The lord hasn't arrived but they can't delay the execution any longer, so a old priest in gold and white robes stepped forward.
"Traitor ████ , you have committed a heinous crime against the Augustus empire. So by the doctrine and empire's judgement you shall be excuted by beheading." The old priest announced,though it was already known to all.
"For centuries to come you will be an example for others, that the doctrine is not the be taken lightly. Be honered." The old priest continued while looking at the knleeing knight on guillotine with emotionless gaze.
The knight didn't move or protest, till the very end he didn't speak a word, his expression hidden beneath the helmet. No one dared to remove it.
"Any last words?" The old priest asked.
"....."
"Bring down the judgement!"

The head of the broken knight rolled on the floor , it's gaze horizontally looking at the crowd.
"Finally.." "THE TRAITOR IS DEAD!" "sob sob"
The gaze of the head witnessed it all.
The cheers ,the relief ,the stary sky changing colour....
"Ahhhh!" "Oh dear goddess..." "The Traitor has cursed us!"
....the cheers turning into screems , dispare taking hold as a collosal crimson sword fell like judgement to sinners, splitting the stary sky and the very fabric of reality as it descended.

"I....rael....am..... remember..... Rael...." Broken Whispers reached the heads ears.
It was overshadowed by the sound of wheels turning in distant void.
The Crimson sword hit the city , instantly incinerating all to ashes in 1st moment.
In 2nd, the Houses collapsed. In 3rd, nothing remained. Nothing but the head of the knight in broken silver armour.

Rael woke up abruptly and immediately drawed his blade on the intruders neck.
"Chill, i was only waking you up. I banged on the door for few minutes but you didn't respond, so I just walked in." Krivos said with both his hands up in surrender.
Looking around the room, he added -
"Of all places ,why sleep in the corner? The bed is right there." He said while pointing at the clean White bed.
"None of your business." Rael awnsered in a tone that suggested not to continue this topic.
Krivos sighed and then changed the topic
"Well, I came because the prey can catch the bait anytime. I can't have you alseep when it appears, it will be a waste of money....Oo your lantern works! Mine exploded when I turned it on." He grew excited at the end when he saw the working lantern.
Looking at Rael in excitement,he politely asked -
"Hey hey , can I have this. mine exploded, so I need another one....yes?! Thanks! You are a life saver."
He took Rael's silence as affirmation and took the lantern in hand. Rael didn't mind but he had a hunch that krivos's lantern might have exploded due to him trying to extract the solarites out of it.
Taking a seat on his bed , Rael simple listened to krivos's rambling.
"Did you set the bait?" Rael asked after a while.
Krivos,who was checking the room out like it was a hot girl paused and nodded.
"Hm, I set it up." He affirmed.
The bait in question was a mixture of herbs and cheap Tier 7 resources. Though it's 'cheap' ,it still took a fortune out of krivos.
Glooms did not have a sense of smell, but Defilers did.
All creatures of darkness in Initiate rank had a high contrast light based vision , meaning they see light has white and darkness as blank.
Due to high contrast of their vision, it gets harder for them to pinpoint human's light. So a Defiler will definitely be more attracted by smell. Even if it has human intelligence, curocity is universal.
Krivos had learned how to make it while he was traveling between the cities, it is a popular alchemical construct used to mislead Defilers. He thought that if he ever started a escort business, it would come in handy.
Also ,the Lightbearsers won't expect this , as the city doesn't have many of this themselves. This is a mining city that doesn't clash with Defilers much.
Prior to meeting Rael at the temperory site , he found a miner to act has the scapegoat. Coating his lantern with the alchemical construct.
Now , Rael simply needs to hang around the area where the miner is and wait for the prey to catch the bait.
The lightbearsers with cause problems,no doubt.That's why they need to be the first to spot and deliver the final blow, so they can have justification.
As for the evidences, that would be dealt with in due time.
"The plan is solid in but I don't like your changes." Krivos grumbled at the changes Rael made.
"It's efficient." Rael awnsered in a matter of fact tone.

The watchtowers rang the bell that signalled emergency. It would only ring if the lanterns malfunctioned or if something bypassed it.
"Rae-!" Krivos shouted , trying to urge Rael.
But Rael was already gone by the time he turned his gaze towards the bed.

A young inexperienced miner repeatedly swung his pickaxe on the chuck of raw Solarite crystal.
"Ha pheeew , Should I try different angle?" He questioned.

True to his premonition, a shadowy figure was present at the edge of light. It seemed more solid then most but the miner didn't think much of it.
"Hehe come closer you mother fucker. Try tasting this ass, I dare you."
The miner smirked and taunted the figure. In turn ,the figure stepped into the light.
It was humanoid in shape but was covered in pitch black darkness from head to toe.
But above all , it just twitched when it entered the light, not burned!
Huh? The miner was confused and brought the light closer.

An eye opened in the center of the figure's face. Then a month that appeared to smile on the it's chest.

It laughed.
