The ancient dragon rose to his full height and stepped away from her as she scrambled to her feet with the heavy baggage slung over her right shoulder. They turned to each other with her face all scrunched up weirdly at him.
She was just grateful she decided to bring the book series of Becoming A Real Dragon with her. Maybe that was the first book she should make him read so he could learn how to behave much more appropriately.
The immortal black dragon just stood with his hands folded behind him with a bored look drawn across his handsome features as she continued to stare at him in that disbelieving way.
''Wh…what were you…trying to do to me?''
The ancient dragon pondered if it wouldn't be a waste of his time trying to explain himself.
His silence only made her cringe more at him in disbelief. The whole fourth heaven would roll in chaos if they knew their beloved lord and savior not only hated them enough to gladly anticipate their destruction but was also morally shameless.
''Now that you have decided to burden me with your presence again, have you thought about a way to put me back to sleep?'' He asked, eyes darkening a bit, sending heavy shivers down her spine.
Xueyao tried to shrug off this cold aura of his and focus on the real reason why she was here. She cleared her throat and came close to him but not too close. Thankful, there was one huge, flat surface stone they could use as an alternative to a reading table.
His golden gaze followed her movements towards the stone as she began to offload the contents of the bag one by one. He watched as she pulled out multiple books and began to arrange them neatly on the makeshift table.
The horror of this lesson began when she turned to wave him over with a haunting smile.

His majestic gaze lingered on the first book she pushed forward to him. It was bound in the cheapest leather you could acquire in all of the heavens but the patterns and the title of the book gave the illusion that the book was worth the heavy price the sellers had scammed her for.
His gaze went to her gullible and innocent features as she leaned happily on the table, excited for him to give this book a try.
Becoming A Real Dragon: Morals and Etiquettes.
He scanned through the title once more before he asked with a sigh. ''What is the meaning of this? Don't I look like a real dragon to you?''
Xueyao faked a disbelieving gasp at him and lied, ''Of course, you are a real dragon to me. Only a fool would doubt that.'' She replied before adding subtly. ''I want to give this book to a friend of mine who doesn't behave like a real dragon to me. Since you are the truest dragon I know and could find in the entire Fourth Heaven, I want you to go through this book diligently,'' She stressed while tapping on the leather covers. ''And tell me if it is a good book to recommend to that dragon friend of mine.''
The ancient dragon couldn't believe she could be this ridiculous. When she saw he wasn't buying her lie she quickly added, ''Once that dragon starts behaving properly to me, I think he might know one or two solutions to your insomnia and how to get rid of it….'' She moved her eyebrows at him to entice him more to give in to becoming a real dragon.
He stared at her and her silly tactic to get him to read this book. So as to avoid other tactics she might have up her sleeves, he decided to read the silly book and get it over with.
The ancient black dragon sighed, silently wondering what he did to deserve this. He opened the book and flipped through the first page when his eyeballs almost protruded out of their sockets.
The secret arts of becoming a real dragon: Morals and Etiquettes and in-depth lessons on how to treat a female dragon more affectionately.
The ancient immortal black dragon thought he was seeing things when he checked the back cover again to confirm the title of the book there and the one he saw on the front page.
He gazed up at the little blue dragon, leaning before him and grinning from ear to ear in satisfaction at him reading the book about morals and etiquettes to becoming a real dragon.
Not only the possibility of her being scammed of the price but also the content and intention of the book.
He let out a small smile of amusement at her as he remembered her words yesterday about them being pure and kind dragons worth saving.
A cruel thought presented itself before him, it brought a dark and mischievous smirk up his perfect facial features as he opened to the next page of the book and teased, ''Should I read out the book to you?''
Xueyao shook her head that there was no need. ''As long as you are able to understand the meaning and the lessons of the book, I am fine with it.''
''Oh.'' He mused darkly as he turned from page to page before pausing on a particular page with a drawing of a man holding on to a female dragon and bringing her face closer for a kiss under a tree with falling leaves. The words written beside made this all the more exciting to him. His eyes then moved to her as his slender fingers drummed on the pages and Xueyao wondered why he stopped reading.
''What happened?''
''I don't know. This particular page is so hard and confusing. I can't understand it. Do you mind taking a look at it to read and explain it to me?''
Xueyao stared at him briefly before agreeing to put him through. She drew the book from him and over to her side of the table.
What could be so hard and confusing about a book on morals and etiquettes that a one hundred thousand year plus dragon couldn't understand….
Her eyes widened in shock at the first intimate imagery that greeted her. She ran her fingers over the surface to confirm if it was real or she was seeing things. The dark and amusing smirk on her dragon's face made her more embarrassed than ever. She flipped through every page and brought out the other volumes of the book she thought was good and every page only grew worse and degrading.
How did such degrading books find their footing in the sacred libraries of Temperance Hall?
She quickly gathered the books and smiled at the smirking ancient dragon before her and smiled stiffly at him, ''I'll be right back.''
He laughed the moment she flew away with the books.
''How so entertaining.'' He found himself talking about her.
