Looking at her other husbands didn't stop her from lusting after them and she shook her head to clear it. Closing her eyes, she tried to process what she had heard.
"Men get marked by some magical force when they have relations with a woman?" She asked.
"That is correct" Sawa said.
"When you said that I would be allowed to wait till I was ready, by doing that, we are not technically married in the eyes of the City." The three nodded at her.
She pinched the bridge of her nose. You think with how aggressive that old hag was acting, they would have been a little more insistent. Part of her melted when she realized that these men were willing to put up with being harassed if it meant she could be confident in her decision to be with them.
"So, you are telling me that the only way to protect you from that woman is to have…" Larann blushed. While she did go on dates hoping to end up in bed, she always had rules about who she would let touch her.
These there were all men she would be down to make love to, but talking about it so boldly was embarrassing. She was more use to men who just led the way when she gave the go ahead.
"For me to accept you all." She looked at them and tightened her knees. The thought of what she needed to do for them was exciting, though her society bound mind was struggling with it. Polyandry was not acceptable where she was from, but here, it seemed men were plentiful and women were scarce.
And Ganne seemed like the type of woman didn't like anyone woman being compared to her. When she got here, they had spoken highly of her, but it was almost as if they had no choice to.
"What has happened since she has been here?" Larann asked.
As Mura and Shuiss explained the arrival of Ganne and then the arrival and disappearance of the other women that appeared, her frown deepened.
"She has been eliminating competition for her position." The three nodded.
"Are men allowed to be with more than one woman?'
"Only if they sever the mark. It must be intentional. Just cutting it won't work. You must mean to sever the marriage permanently. No one can force a woman to keep a mark if she doesn't want it and no one can force a woman to remove it if her heart doesn't want it. Men can't remove their mark."
"That doesn't seem fair." She said.
"That's just how all beastmen are." Mura said.
"What happens to them? If the woman rejects them?"
"They waste away. Most of them leave for the wild and never come back."
"But what happens to them?" She insisted, tugging at Sawa's hand.
"They lose the will to live. Once we decide to be with a woman, we will never look at another." Shuiss said.
"But what about you? Do you mind sharing?" If she accepted all of them and they regretted it, it would be too late to undo their choice.
"That is why we chose to share a household." Sawa said. "Men get together and choose their hut mates and women generally choose the whole household. The more men and the more talent, the more likely they are to find and gain a wife." Larann thought about it and it did make sense. It was like bringing in a CEO from the outside to run the company.
But if she chose to truly accept them, that meant that if there was ever a time where she had to choose between this place and her old one, she would not be the only person to consider.
But did she even want to go back? Her body in that world might even be dead for all she knew. It might even be torn apart by animals and rotting because she doubted that the murderer would have called the police to say she was missing.
Unless this was all a fever dream and she was stuck in a hospital bed and dreamt of all of this.
If that was the case, then there was no harm in going for it. She had either been given another chance at life, or this was all fake and she would wake up soon.
She looked at the three men in front of her.
All of them were celebrity level hot. All of them wanted her. All of them pretty much told her they would be devoted to her for life. If she woke up before getting to sample the best part of this dream, she would be beyond upset.
"We need to come up with a plan to deal with Ganne, figure out what her plan is." They looked at her, confused.
"She is sly, she has something up her sleeve and has this whole time. She made this place and called it a city which means that she had ambition, but she is a terrible steward."
"How do you propose we do this?" Sawa asked. Looking deeply into his eyes she smiled. Or more like leered.
"First, we need to protect you," she looked into Mura and Shuiss eyes one by one, intent on trying to communicate her commitment.
"I don't know where we will end up, but I can promise that I will be committed to you and our goals as a family." Larann sat back and could see that the sun was starting to set.
Part of her was happy that if they were going to do what she was hoping, having the protection of night so that they couldn't see that she wasn't nearly as beautiful as them would be comforting. She also knew she shouldn't think of herself like that, but these three men would make the hottest man alive question his beauty.
"I want you each to mark me," she whispered. Glancing up at them through her lashes, a blush spread across her cheeks.
