Once they step out of the front gates, there will be no more turning back. At that very moment, every fiber in Pa goes body screamed at him to not go, he tensed up reflexively but he knew better than to defy. he glanced around, it seems like ha neul also felt the same chills. if even ha neul could feel it, it definitely isn't something normal.
walking in a dense forest, there was nothing but trees but, surpringly there no monsters,"Ha Eun, it seems like we've walk into the wrong place, are you absolutely sure it's here?" pa goe ask formally, glancing at ha eun in front of him
"let's make a turn I guess" Ha Eun replied looking at Pa goe over his shoulder, as they all turn to another side which was oddly empty as well
"Ha Eun are you sure you didn't dream about this mission?" Pa goe asked with a bored expression "last time you dreamt of getting a mission about saving the goose remember?" he teased ha eun, smirking
"prepare for battle" Ha Eun suddenly announced, reaching for his bow that was hanging loose behind his back, his gaze focuses deeply onto seemingly nothing. A wave of overwelming mana rushed through Pa goe and ha neul, making them feel extremely unease, "focuss!" a roar erupted from ha eun, looks like he also felt it
ha neul ran forward though she had no idea where the fuck is the monster, it was a reckless move but could they really do? Her gaze frantically glanced around the area, trying to track the monster, Pa goe couldn't detect the monster either, it felt like the mana was...everywhere
within a blink of an eye, too fast for a mortal to follow, ha neuls arms were suddenly sliced off clean, ha neul screamed as blood sprayed her face and pooled all around her. She collapse to her knees, Pa goe instinctively ran to ha neul to aid her but was dragged back by ha eun, he struggled against ha euns grip. he looked at ha eun with pleeding eyes but ha eun did not care
he couldn't risk loosing another teammate
"it's there!" cheon sa screamed pointing at nothing except there was something moving as he got into his fighting stance, pulling out his long sword. ha eun also pulled out his bow and aiming at the direction of where the monster apparently is
but then, Pa goe felt it
"behind us!" he screamed while ducking down merely dodging the upcoming slash, the others followed Pa goe ducking down and barely missing the attack, but what they saw wasn't a monster, their vision was distorted surroundings gradually became red like the one that made Pa goe sick days ago
it had followed Pa goe
ha eun shot his arrows without second thought, while Pa goe sprinted down to aid ha neul, his face dripping with cold sweat as he felt that same sickening twist in his stomach, but it was already too late, she didn't have time to dodge the slash and it went straight through her neck, helpless and unable to do anything, Pa goe joined the raid. but for some reason, it wasn't attacking them as if.... it was waiting for the moment
ha eun kept firing shots seemingly confident and determined but his hands were shaking making his shots weaker. cheon sa, on the other hand, couldn't move, he was stunned by his own fear. Pa goe helplessly watch his teammates performance getting worse and charged, he though to himself that he could be the sacrificial lamb, or a motivation for the others
but his head was soon severed, the last thing he saw was his teammates. their wide eyes and scared expression before everything went black

he woke up in cold sweat, gasping and panting for air, "am I dead?!" he thought to himself, but his surroundings was normal, his room, his bed and his furniture all still at the same place
there was a knock at the door, he frowned, "what really happened?" suddenly a screen appeared in front of him
