Pa goe looked at cheon sa, his mouth agaped. dropping his fork onto the plate as it clattered loudly "what?.." he tried to sound normal but it came out squeaky and high, "what" cheon sa answered back, laughing nervously. "all I said was that the moon looks beautiful!" cheon sa stammered out, with an obvious hint of nervousness in His tone. "I prefer the stars" Pa goe said, picking his food, not looking up at cheon sa. "oh" cheon sa replied, with a smile that didn't fade in time, "okay.." his voice was small and disappointed.
"don't be so uptight! we still can be friends!" Pa goe, trying to light up the mood. "cheers?" he said, raising his wine glass, he didn't have expectations for cheon sa to do it tho, he flinched from a loud scrape from a chair, with cheon sa standing up, with a dark and disappointed look on his face. "I'll pay for my food" he announced, pulling out a hundred bucks and putting it on table.
"I still love you as a friend okay?" Pa goe said before cheon sa went too far. but only got a hum in response. he did truly love him as deeply as how a mother loved a son. but he knew it wasn't enough for cheon sa
Eating alone In a restaurant full of couples wasn't really on his bucket list, but what else could he do?
"oh good fucking grief" he groaned, slamming his fork onto the table, pinching the bridge of his nose. before shoving the last of his food in his mouth and left, paying in the process. he had plans to do anyway....
---------------------------
the promising day of their departure arrived like any other day, but it felt different, more confident, more predictable. standing in the front gates again, Pa goe can't help sense the same dread in his heart, but he feared no more. he knew what to do and will execute his plan perfectly
"stay confident guys!" Ha Eun said, smiling and patting cheon sa by the shoulder, reassuring his safety. The same applause, same cries of hope echoed in Pa goes ear. "don't go wondering off like a pup again Pa goe~" Ha Eun said, in a teasing manner, like he always does. pa goe paid no attention to it, just looked away, his eyes scanning the crowed with soft eyes as they passed by, the cheers slowly getting quieter the further they went. the trees getting denser. as expected, not a single monster in sight.
"weird, this is unusually" Ha Eun mumbled, pulling out a map, scanning his eyes through it. "where do you guys think is the right way" Ha Eun asked, looking back at the rest of them, waiting for answers
"we should go left" pa goe answered, since that was the opposite side from where they went last time. look ing at ha eun for approval
"sure then" was all ha eun replied before walking past Pa goe, "hey wait!" Pa goe reached out but stopped. he grumbled before frantically trailed behind him
But that path was no different, the silence was deafening, but brief.
"guys, does the path we just passed look odd to you?" cheon ask, looking back, his face full of confusion written all over it
it looked... the same
except it wasnt
the trees, and path, the rocks, they looked distorted but too fainted for any ordinary human to spot it, but cheon sa was precise enough to spot it out.
he didn't think much tho, it could just be an illusion but that signifies that there's a monster nearby. he drew out his long sword, but a scream erupted from him instead
