Chapter 26 - The Last Chance

Chapter 26.

"Yo! Erde!"

"Two days apart, I missed you so much!"

Ganu and the others couldn't help but sneer at Lili's disheveled appearance.

"What, have you been slacking off on your training these last two days?"

"As a Supporter, how can you not even carry a bag?"

"You're really useless, huh!"

Lili, who was dizzy from the fall, widened her eyes when she clearly saw the faces around her:

"You, no, Ganu-sama, why are you here?"

"Hmph, you're the one who snuck out in the middle of the night."

Ganu chuckled maliciously: "Your seniors had some good work for you, but I didn't expect you to be home."

"I only found out you ran here from that old Gnome."

"Luckily, the carriage was faster than a Pallum's short legs~"

Lili's expression froze: "Grandpa Nomu? What did you do to Grandpa Nomu?"

Ganu spat and said carelessly: "You really care about that old Gnome, huh? He"s just an old man, a little intimidation and he talked."

"More importantly..."

Ganu gestured to the side, and a carriage loaded with boxes slowly appeared in the corner.

"Erde, your seniors have taken such good care of you. It's time for you to repay us, isn't it?"

Lili only needed one look to understand their meaning.

It wasn't enough to rob her of her money.

They wanted to force her into labor, carrying boxes for them.

Under any other circumstance, Lili would have been unable to refuse.

But now, she was in a desperate rush.

Her only salvation was waiting ahead.

According to the mysterious person, this lifelong opportunity was only for once!

Lili's anxiety was palpable.

She struggled to twitch her lips into a fawning smile.

"Ganu-sama, Lili, Lili truly is in a hurry this time..."

"I beg you, please, consider how much money I usually give you..."

Slap!

A large hand struck through the air, knocking the girl trying to approach him back to the ground!

"Giving us money?" Ganu sneered, "I didn't know that?"

Without waiting for the girl to struggle up, he reached out, roughly grabbed her hair, and pulled the screaming Lili in front of him.

"You think I don"t know you try to be smart every time? How many times have you actually given me the full amount I asked for?"

"And you dare bring it up now!?"

"My business always comes before you trash!"

His roar echoed across the empty plaza, and the atmosphere dropped to freezing point.

"...Please... I beg you..."

Round tears, like pearls, streamed down her face.

Lili's eyes were bloodshot.

Her mouth was bleeding, and she was panting, letting out a mournful cry word by word.

"Let... me... go..."

"Just... this once..."

The miserable sound was like a crying cub, stirring pity.

For a moment, even a villain like Ganu fell silent.

"Pfft."

Suddenly, there was an inharmonious snort.

"Hahaha!"

"Ahahahahahahaha!!"

"Hey, look, the useless Pallum is a good actress!"

"If you're just a crying piece of trash, don't bother trying to enter the Dungeon!"

"Waaah, I'm so scared~"

As mentioned earlier.

When depravity becomes a habit.

A person will turn to "evil."

This was a group of villains who had already lost their way and could not turn back.

A brutal red light radiated from the depths of Ganu's eyes.

"If you dare to refuse, I'll break that old Gnome's legs, burn down his shop, and then tell him it was all because you refused to help your dear Familia family."

"Guess if he'll hate you for the rest of his life?"

Ah.

My God.

Why did Lili have to suffer this?

Time seemed to stand still, and Lili"s vision blurred.

She asked herself again and again in her heart.

Why, in this era with the gods in the world, could she still not see hope?

She couldn't remember how she got up or how she shouldered the heavier-than-ever cargo box.

She couldn't remember how she drove her creaking, near-collapse body, step by step, into the endless darkness of the Dungeon.

And she couldn't remember how she met her desperate end amid all the smug, arrogant laughter.

Just... die now.

Lili's heart was filled with this thought.

She had failed the adult who was waiting and dragged down Grandpa Nomu, the only person who was kind to her.

Lili had no will to live anymore.

The girl, dazed and like a walking corpse, was numb.

She took one step after another, sinking into the darkness.

Loud voices continued to echo in her ears.

"Aiya, that's how it should be, if the Supporter doesn't carry the luggage, how can we adventurer Lords free up our hands to fight the monsters?"

"Right? If it weren't for us, this trash would have been swallowed whole by a monster!"

"Be grateful, Erde!"

"Oh, right!"

One of them sneered and leaned closer:

"I heard Captain Zanis say that you can even use magic! And a rare transformation magic at that?"

"In that case, you could earn a lot of money, right?"

"Those perverted wealthy people in Orario would definitely offer you a good price~"

"Guh-hee-hee-hee, after you're done serving them, don"t forget to come and have a good exchange with your big brother~"

The grating mockery could no longer elicit a reaction from Lili.

I want to die, I want to die, I want to die, I want to die, I want to die, I want to die!

In this extremely pessimistic state, every single insult only sank Lili"s soul further into the abyss.

But just as her senses were gradually fading.

A few words suddenly brought the girl back to full awareness!

"Whew, it's the Seventh Floor, right?"

"Yeah, we're almost there."

"There are more monsters at night, and I hope we don't run into Killer Ants."

"Shut up, idiot!"

The Seventh Floor?

The Seventh Floor!

Lili's dim eyes instantly regained their clarity.

Her destination was also the Seventh Floor!

Although time was running out, if she could escape from this group in time, there was still a sliver of possibility!

The rekindled hope subtly straightened the Pallum girl's spine.

She endured the chafing on her shoulders and the heavy strain on her knees.

Gritting her teeth, step by step, she followed the group until they reached the deep and gloomy Seventh Floor.

And while the others were discussing the next direction to proceed.

Lili took out the accessory the mysterious person had given her from her pocket.

It was a brilliant blue gem.

The closer she got, the more it would generate an attractive force.

Its light would guide her in the direction of its source.

I must find a chance to escape!

As the group continued deeper, a relatively wide cavern appeared before them.

This place was especially familiar to Lili.

As a Supporter, she had long memorized all the maps of the upper floors.

Because if danger struck, the adventurers would not save her.

She could only rely on herself!

"It's here!"

A rustling sound suddenly erupted ahead, and everyone's eyes instantly changed.

They finally ran into them!

Monsters!

Large patches of red light emerged from the tunnel, and squealing Killer Ants poured out en masse!
