Chapter 25: Abnormality

The moment Turles returned to the ship, he immediately summoned everyone and detailed his condition.

After hearing Turles's description, Karl and the others' expressions turned serious. They began preparing examination equipment.

However, Paragus and Raditz's reactions caught Turles's attention. After Karl's team departed, Turles stopped both of them. Earlier, one had acted completely unconcerned while the other appeared thoughtful.

"Paragus, Raditz, do you two know something?" Turles voiced his suspicion directly.

Raditz first glanced cautiously at Paragus. Seeing he had no intention of speaking, Raditz explained: "Turles, I remember when my dad was young, he seemed to have the same issue. But nothing bad ever happened to him afterward. Besides, isn't this just how Saiyans are about combat?"

At this point, Raditz looked at Turles nervously again, muttering: "You're so similar to my dad, you even have the same face, and you still say you're not Kakarot?"

Hearing that, Turles couldn't help glaring at him. Raditz's body shrank back as he immediately hid behind Paragus.

And here Turles thought he'd say something useful. Instead, this fool was still fixated on being his older brother. Such audacity. Clearly needed more training.

Though the fact that Bardock had experienced similar issues made Turles thoughtful. He couldn't help recalling what made Bardock special from his memories.

In those memories, he remembered a standalone Bardock special. Supposedly at the moment Planet Vegeta was destroyed, Bardock had traveled through time to ancient Planet Vegeta, encountering the planet's original inhabitants—the Tuffles—who'd rescued him. Finally, during an invasion by Frieza's ancestor, witnessing his friend's death, Bardock had transformed into a golden-haired warrior—a Super Saiyan—and repelled Frieza's ancestor. Thus the Super Saiyan legend had been born among Frieza's clan.

"Could I really be related to Bardock somehow?" Turles couldn't help wondering.

"Stop overthinking. This is just a normal Saiyan phenomenon. Has nothing to do with Bardock!" Paragus suddenly said.

"???" Both Turles and Raditz looked at Paragus.

"Before most Saiyans reach age fifteen, their bodies maintain juvenile form. During this period, though Saiyans don't change in height or appearance, their cellular structure continues developing. Body cells become abnormally active, manifesting as increased aggression and extreme emotional excitement during combat."

"Some elite-class Saiyans with potential learn to control this excitement. But most Saiyans can't, especially low-class warriors. This is the period with the highest mortality rate among low-class Saiyans. You have to understand—young Saiyans who can't control this excitement completely disregard whether enemies are stronger when fighting."

"However, after age fifteen, Saiyans rapidly grow over three years. Cells gradually become dormant. Combined with sexual maturity, this excited state slowly disappears. But the combative personality accumulated during the juvenile period accompanies Saiyans throughout their lives. This is the origin of Saiyans as a warrior race."

"But a small minority of Saiyans develop later. Though their juvenile period is influenced by general Saiyan nature, their temperament remains somewhat calmer. Only after age eighteen do their cells begin activating."

"However, since Saiyan personalities have already matured rapidly after puberty, they can better control the emotional excitement brought by cellular activity. So if they experience extensive appropriate combat during this period, their battle power increases dramatically."

"I remember Bardock was exactly this case. Otherwise, why do you think among so many low-class warriors, only Bardock continuously broke through his physical potential?"

"Never expected you'd experience the same situation as Bardock. Looks like you'll be the next Bardock. No—you'll probably be even stronger!"

By the end, Paragus's face couldn't help showing a trace of envy.

"How come I never knew about this?" Hearing these secrets for the first time, Raditz looked completely confused.

Glancing dismissively at Raditz, Paragus continued: "As for you resembling Bardock, that's not particularly strange either. After all, you're both low-class warrior origin. Among Saiyans, low-class warrior genetics share many similarities. One or two people looking alike isn't remotely unusual."

After listening, Turles nodded. But immediately asked: "If that's the case, then elite warriors' battle power shouldn't be inferior to Bardock's. You said some elite warriors can control this excitement. If they properly utilized this period, their battle power shouldn't be too weak!"

Hearing that question, Paragus's face showed an expression somewhere between mockery and envy: "Elite warriors? Heh! How could those people compare to Bardock? After all, they're Saiyan nobility!"

After speaking, ignoring Turles's desire to ask more, he left directly.

Turles fell into thoughtful consideration upon hearing that.

"Turles, what did that old bastard mean? Is he looking down on us?" Raditz recovered, feeling somewhat dissatisfied, and complained to Turles.

Glancing at the oblivious Raditz, Turles said: "He's not looking down on us. Just looking down on you specifically."

"What? Why's he looking down on me? Just because he's a bit stronger? But he's old too—who knows how much longer he'll live? " Raditz protested indignantly.

Hearing Raditz complaints black lines appeared on Turles's forehead. His mouth twitched. He couldn't help clenching his fist. Finally, he explained: "Don't you know? When Paragus was on Planet Vegeta, he participated in biological research. And what do you think those eighteen years on Vampa were like for him?"

Patting Raditz's shoulder, Turles headed directly toward the examination room, leaving Raditz standing in place looking both confused and shocked.

---

Examination Room.

Turles lay shirtless on the examination table, body covered with various electrode patches connected to electronic instruments.

Beep beep beep!

Bleep bleep bleep!

Electronic sounds continuously rang out. Karl and several Kaburu carefully monitored various data readings on the instruments.

"Everything looks normal!"

"Yes, though cellular activity is excessive. Heart rate is somewhat elevated too!"

"What about brain waves?"

"Normal!"

After extensive discussion without finding any problems, Karl's team exchanged confused glances.

"Sir, you can get up now!" Karl approached Turles, helping remove the electrode patches while assisting him to sit up.

"So? Find anything?" Turles dressed while asking.

"Sir, my apologies. Aside from relatively active cells, all other indicators are normal!" Karl said apologetically.

"Is that so?" Turles spoke thoughtfully.

Seemed consistent with what Paragus described. But Turles still felt something was off.

This abnormally excited, uncontrolled Saiyan state resembled the Great Ape transformation too closely. Except this excited emotion only existed during the juvenile period, gradually disappearing upon reaching maturity. Whereas Great Ape transformation was a lifelong ability Saiyans could use.

Plus, the manifestations differed. This excited state seemingly only influenced Saiyan growth, with minimal power amplification. Great Ape transformation provided a tenfold battle power increase.

However, after transforming, ordinary Saiyans couldn't suppress violent destructive urges, becoming mindless beasts. But some elite warriors could tame these urges and maintain rationality—like Vegeta. This overlapped somewhat with Paragus's explanation. Turles didn't believe this was mere coincidence.

Thinking this, Turles unconsciously swayed his tail.

Speaking of which, since transmigrating into a Saiyan body, Turles always subconsciously ignored this tail. After all, in his previous life, he hadn't possessed such a thick, hard appendage.

Moreover, Turles still hadn't encountered a full moon even once, so he'd never undergone Great Ape transformation. Whether he'd lose rationality after transforming remained unclear.

According to Paragus, he could now suppress combat excitement. Following his hypothesis, he might potentially maintain rationality during Great Ape transformation. Plus, extensive mental simulation training had enhanced Turles's mental strength.

If true, with his current 80,000+ battle power, a tenfold Great Ape multiplier would reach 800,000 battle power.

Over 800,000 battle power! Even with Turles's usual composure, he couldn't help feeling an impulse to test it immediately.

Turles barely managed to suppress that urge.

Testing could happen on the planet Belus promised. Obsidian had too many people. If noticed, who knew what hidden powerhouses might emerge.

Besides, this was just one battle. He wasn't certain whether it was an isolated incident or truly as Paragus described.

"So I need combat. Continuous combat!"

Turles looked toward the arena's direction, murmuring softly.
