Item Rank System
Official Item Ranks
Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary → Mythic
Special Rank: UNIQUE
Unique items have special traits that set them apart:
- Grows with the user (scales with level/power)
- Evolves based on wielder's actions
- Soul-bound/cannot be stolen
- Adapts to wielder's fighting style
- Unlocks new abilities over time
- Cannot be replicated
Examples:
- Sword that evolves from Common → Legendary as MC levels
- Armor that adapts element resistance based on enemies faced
- Ring that gains abilities from absorbed souls
A Unique item can exist at ANY base rank
Enhancement (Not Official Rank)
Enhanced = Modified/Improved item
Enhancement Methods:
- Runes (dwarf/mage craft)
- Enchantments (magical inscriptions)
- Material Reinforcement (adding monster parts)
- Blessing (priest/divine magic)
Notation:
- Common Sword → Common Enhanced Sword [Runed]
- Rare Armor → Rare Enhanced Armor [Fire Rune + Durability Enchantment]
Now what sets if apart from Unique or it just being unique, well for one, Unique can't be intentionally created, happens as a cosmic miracle(will be delved in deeper later in the story) and Enhanced, the Enhancements need to be recharged with energy stones and while Unique can't get damaged, Enhanced ones can be damaged and need to be fixed(will also be explained how)
[Rare] Steel Longsword
Durability: High(100%)
Here, basically, I'm showing you a normal weapon, as you can see it adds more to your power, but also the Durability.
Enhanced Item:
[Rare Enhanced] Steel Longsword [Fire Rune]
Fire Damage
Durability: High
Enhancement: Fire Rune
As you can see this Rune will offer Fire damage, so if an enemy has weakness to that this would work, even if they don't have weakness towards fire, it'll still hurt, some Runes may add Physical Power when using the item.
Unique Item:
[Unique - Epic] Devourer's Blade
+120 Physical Power
Grows with wielder
Current Level: 15/100
Special: Absorbs enemy essence on kill
I think this speaks for it self, again not all grow with the user, and not all add damage.
Again, these are items, not just weapons, so unique items exit, unique robe, unique pot, unique... never my mind is going to uncharted places, but you get my drift, a lonely noblewoman might get a unique toy that does unique things.... sorry.
World Building Context
Common/Uncommon: What 90% of people use
Rare: Successful adventurers, knights
Epic: Elite warriors, noble family heirlooms
Legendary: Kingdom treasures, famous heroes
Mythic: Emperor's crown, ancient dragon hoards
Enhanced items: Available at all ranks, significantly more valuable
Unique items: Extremely rare.
Now, do take in mind these stats I pulled out of my... mind, so don't be surprised. A commoner might get his hands on Epic weapons because of some what what bloodline bullshit background I might come up with.
I will add more as the story goes on
