"Jeez..won't you give it up already? It was hard enough to get your friend. God..Kids these days.."
"Just buzz off, you loser!"
Matsumi briefly glanced down at Heiwa, running down the ramp to a lower level of the parking. He slid over the hood of a small car that got in his way, also missing a driver.
"Ugh!"
He flipped out a small phone, one that was far different than a normal world phone. He dialed a number as the phone floated in front of his face before he received it back holding it to his ear.
"Hey do I have to get the kid? I already hit Heiwa and got the other chick to the lab…Uhuh…Uhuh…Okay yeah…"
Saikyō stayed on the phone and spoke out of irritation before calming down. Matsumi was able to build as much distance as he wished.
Matsumi was long gone now, exiting the parking and running down the street, turning various corners in the city.
Heiwa was out cold in his arms, her eyes left wide open. She was cross eyed, and showed no signs of life. A blue liquid continued to drip from her eyes and face as she laid in his arms, body limp as Matsumi moved around.
"That was a close one, right Heiwa?"
He looked down at her, not noticing a response. He'd jog to an alley and place her down. As soon as he stopped moving he felt a strong pull from his chest. Matsumi crouched down to look at her better.
"Hey, Heiwa! Can you hear me?"
He wiped the blue liquid from her face, not really understanding that she had gotten hit.
Heiwa had her eyes rolled to the back of her head as she lied still, not responding to him. Whenever he wiped the blue liquid more poured from her face, the slimy substance contrasting her pale skin.
He didn't know what had happened, but maybe someone else could tell him.
"Hey Barg, I need your help!"
Barghest appeared from the crystal on his neck and looked at Heiwa for a few seconds.
"…What's going on?"
"I don't know! She was okay a second ago, I don't know what happened to her!"
Barghest floated down and examined Heiwa's face and the substance.
"Looks like the job of the head of the spirit world. When that man threw that object at you it was a syringe, and even though you moved touching any substance made by that man will still leave its effects on you. The syringe sticking fully is just a guaranteed death sentence…"
"The spirit world…that's where he's from? Wait, but how do we help her?"
"Both that man and Vermelha seemingly come from different districts of the spirit world. However, Vermelha isn't a spirit..and she moved to the real world in her childhood..but that's why you were getting that feeling about that man. He is housing a fake body to interact here..normally most beings unless ancient or unique wouldn't be able to see or touch spirits…"
Barghest looked back at Heiwa.
"There pretty much is no way of helping her. The only way she'd be fixed is if she received an antidote made by Ryoshū himself..and If that man was right they also got Vermelha."
"He took Vermelha?! I knew there was something off about him! Let's hurry and get that antidote! Then we're going after 'em!"
"Well it's not that simple. I don't even sense Ryoshū on this plane of existence. She may be done for..but we can still rescue Vermelha."
"We can do both! If he's not in this world, we'll just look through them all!" *
Matsumi was clearly very determined, just staring at Barghest for any sort of idea.
"Well…you could travel to the spirit world..but that would be way more dangerous than anything in Heldor's Tower. Ryoshū is one of the strongest living beings in the known universe. Meddling in his affairs would mean you're stepping to the spirit world. I don't know if that would be best.."
Unlike their consistent comedic arguments and a lack of yelling this time, Barghest sounded far more serious about this than Heldor's Tower.
"I don't know if I have the strength to take on any of the higher ranking captains either."
Matsumi was thinking as hard as he could, when an idea popped up in his head.
"I just have to win the Tower thing! Then we'll ask for Heiwa to get treated and for help in getting into the spirit world!"
"It's possible that winning the tower would present you with such an opportunity..but I would hurry if you're going to do it..it looks like whatever she was injected with ended up causing some kind of brain damage."
"Okay!"
He picked her up again.
"Let's get her to a doctor quickly until then!"
Barghest, already knowing the town silently lead the way to the hospital, attempting to help Heiwa as much as she could for the boy.
