Chapter 21 - Meeting Jack

kai meets jack after his school they sat in car together after a few minutes jack started talking

jack said

'' so kai what do you want to do after joining us you can do what ever you like ''

kai said

'' i am actually a big fan of you and because of that i also wanted to became an actor ''

jack said

''very nice that's a nice choice so from tomorrow come to my house i will teach you acting and some martial arts''

The iron gates of Jack's estate swiveled open at precisely six in the morning. Kai stood there, his school backpack replaced by a duffel bag, his heart hammering against his ribs like a trapped bird. Yesterday, they were just a fan and an idol; today, the dynamic had shifted.

Jack was waiting in the center of a wide, grass-covered courtyard. he wore simple black joggers and a fitted gray t-shirt.

jack said

"Punctuality is the first script you must memorize, Kai,"

Jack said,

[checking his watch.] "If you're on time, you're late. If you're early, you're professional. Let's begin."

Part I: The Rhythm of the Body

The first three hours were grueling. Jack didn't start with flashy kicks or movie-style punches. He started with the basics of movement.

jack said

"Martial arts isn't about hurting people," [Jack explained]

as he corrected Kai's stance, pushing his hips lower into a deep horse stance.

jack said

"It is about spatial awareness. If you don't know where your feet are, you will never know where your character is standing."

Kai's legs trembled. The burn in his thighs was white-hot.

kai said

"Jack... I thought... I thought we'd start with the fight choreography?"

Jack laughed, a warm, resonant sound.

jack said

"You want to fly before you can crawl and i am not just teaching you acting but i am also teaching you how to fight in real life because in our last fight you lost because you don't know any kind of technique / martial arts and that day i saw potential in you . as in fighting, the power comes from the ground. If your foundation is weak, your performance will be hollow."

As the sun rose higher, Jack moved Kai into striking drills. Jack held the pads, his eyes intense and focused. Every time Kai swung wildly, Jack would deftly step aside, letting Kai stumble.

jack said

"You're using anger," [Jack noted, his voice calm]. "Anger is a tool, but it's a blunt one. Precision beats power, and timing beats speed."

He stopped and looked Kai in the eyes.

jack said

"This is your first life lesson, kid. In a fight, the person who loses their temper first is the person who loses the match. In life, the person who reacts emotionally to every provocation loses their freedom. Control your breath, and you control the room."

Kai took a deep breath, mimicking Jack's steady rhythm. He swung again—this time, it wasn't a wild flail, but a calculated snap. Thwack. The sound against the pad was crisp. Jack nodded, a small, proud smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

After a brief break and a protein-heavy breakfast, the training shifted to the conservatory. The mats were replaced by scripts; the sweat was replaced by the heavy silence of introspection.

jack said

"Acting isn't lying,",

tossing a script onto the mahogany table.

jack said

"People think it's about faking emotions. It's actually the opposite. It's about finding the absolute truth within a fictional circumstance."

They worked on a simple scene: a son confronting a father who had been absent. Kai tried to play it "big"—shouting, waving his arms, trying to look "dramatic."

Jack held up a hand.

jack said

"Stop. You're performing for an audience that isn't there. Stop trying to be 'good' and start being 'present.' Look at me, Kai. Not as Jack, the actor. Look at me as the man who let you down."

Kai hesitated. He looked at Jack and saw the kindness there. It was hard to be angry. he was not able believe that these man was a bad guy But then Jack leaned forward, his expression shifting into something cold and distant—the very image of a neglectful parent.

The shift was so sudden it sent a shiver down Kai's spine. He felt a surge of genuine frustration. The lines started coming out differently. They weren't recited; they were spat out.

"Better," Jack whispered after the scene ended. "You felt that, didn't you? That spark in your chest?"

"Yeah," Kai breathed, wiping his face. "It felt... scary."

"Honesty usually is," Jack replied. He sat back, his tone becoming more paternal. "Listen to me, Kai. The world will try to tell you to put on masks. They'll want you to be the 'cool' guy, the 'tough' guy, the 'successful' guy. But if you lose track of who you really are under those masks, you'll end up a hollow shell. To be a great actor, you must first be a whole human being.

after some time jack started to teach kai all kind of martial arts like karate , kung fu , taekwondo etc

By late afternoon, the formal training bled into a quiet camaraderie. They sat on the back porch, sharing a bottle of water, their clothes stained with grass and sweat.

Kai looked at Jack, feeling a profound sense of gratitude. Jack wasn't just teaching him how to punch or how to cry on cue; he was teaching him how to navigate the world.

"Why are you doing this for me, Jack?" Kai asked softly. "You're a busy man. You could have just given me a job as an assistant."

Jack looked out at the horizon. "I saw a lot of myself in you yesterday. A lot of hunger, but a lot of confusion. When I started, I didn't have a mentor. I took a lot of hits—both in the ring and in the industry—that I didn't need to take if someone had just shown me the way."

He reached out and clipped Kai on the shoulder. "Besides, you've got heart. You didn't complain once during those leg drills. I can teach technique, but I can't teach heart. You've already got the hard part down."

Kai felt a lump in his throat. He had entered the house as a fan, but he realized he was leaving as a student—and perhaps, in time, a friend. He stood up and gave a small, respectful bow,

Jack grinned, standing up to join him. "Don't get all formal on me yet. We still have to work on your footwork. Get your shoes on. We're going for a run."

As they ran down the winding driveway, the sun setting behind them, Kai mentally cataloged what he had learned on Day One:

Kai realized that joining Jack wasn't just a career move. It was an evolution. He wasn't just becoming an actor; under Jack's wing, he was becoming a man. The road ahead looked long and painful, but for the first time in his life, Kai knew exactly where he was going and the training lasted 7 days and because of the training kai was able to meet lily every day
