The communicator secured in my pocket once again, I turned my attention to the newly opened gate not so far off.
Unsurprisingly, there wasn't anyone sent to deal with it.
After all, this is the wilderness.
And the government forces are focused on saving as many lives as possible, bringing them back over the ocean.
In Turn, they are sacrificing the entire continent.
Despicable. To just give up to the Spell, let it consume yet another giant part of the world.
I would not stand for it.
If no one is willing to save this freezing place.
I myself, will secure it, as well as the space it resides in.
That is my will. My right.
Two more nightmares manifested next to Mirage, ready for the upcoming slaughter.
All of our eyes locked onto the guardian's form.
A weakling that was barely worth any effort.
Apparently, the Winter Beast thought so too.
Since while it had stopped, it didn't look towards the direction of the gate.
All the better, I didn't need more calls wondering why the fuck is the Titan fighting with me.
Letting out a sigh, I teleported the four of us. I myself appeared in the air, above the battlefield. Fenrir to the north of the gate.
Nether in the south.
And Mirage in the air just like me, although far higher.
Turning my attention to the creature, I groaned and shuddered violently.
It's disgusting, that's for sure.
Even the brilliance of its cores did not outshine the vision provided by the ever present dagger.
It looked to be just a large pile of mangled flesh, boney arms barely covered by skin sticking out every which way.
The hands themselves we're from humans and creatures alike.
This one seems to not have been humbled in it's life yet.
Seeing as it probably attacked all living things on sight, apart from it's own small army.
I raised an eyebrow, as one of the hands coiled like a spring, before it shot off towards Mirage who had already started flying high above, circling the prey beneath.
The answer from the bird was easy to predict, dozens of feathers capable of injuring Masters slamming into the flying limb.
They tore through it with ease, the feathers continuing their path and piercing a dozen or so Awakened creatures on the ground.
Mere moments after, a scorching wave of flames exploded from the south of the battlefield, tearing through numerous creatures without pause.
Just as the flames passed, over four dozen long bone lances shot in a horizontal line from the north, impaling nearly a dozen each.
I stood patiently in the air, letting my friends collect the fragments for themselves.
Before I myself would swoop in and finish off the Tyrant.
After all, I didn't really need the fragments.
Nor did I really need to kill the Tyrant, but the possibility of getting it's echo was too good to pass up.
So the battle continued as it always did, dozens upon dozens of creatures dying in seconds.
God, was it supposed to be so… easy? Boring?
Surely Sunless was also dealing with similar problems.
Being called a Devil and all that.
Which he technically was.
Maybe even a Tyrant now? Doubtful, but possible.
My line of thought was shattered as Fenrir howled over the frozen landscape, the usual signal to finish off yet another joke that is this battle.
Vanishing in an instant, I appeared just centimeters above the Tyrant, careful to not touch it's disgusting form.
The dagger appeared in my palm, augmented and radiating the power of a near Supreme memory.
I plunged it into the mangled flesh, barely even feeling a resistance.
Then I commanded the dagger to fly through the Tyrant's entire body.
Ah! That's what I have forgotten, Telekinesis, yeah I got that too, always did actually.
Laughing out loud, I stared at the Tyrant's face that had appeared from the mangled flesh beneath.
It was horrific, one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen without a doubt.
The mouth opened, perhaps to speak, perhaps to attack.
I didn't much care.
The dagger tore through the face, then another few dozen times through the body as I continuously built its momentum, teleporting it just as it exited the body to another part of it.
In a dozen seconds, it collapsed on itself, letting out what vaguely resembled a whine before dying.
The kill confirmation arrived, with nothing else.
Saddening, but expected.
I doubt the spell would ever give me anything else, unless it's a nightmare.
Which I'm starting to doubt it had any control over.
Not like it matters, I didn't really need anything else, wouldn't for quite a while.
Half a decade perhaps, perhaps even a full one?
Perhaps.
There was no point of rushing to the third nightmare.
Unless the war got really, really bad.
But surely, they wouldn't destabilize everything for some squabble over strengthening their domains? Right?
Hmm, but then I couldn't grow strong enough for the Winter Beast…
Ah, I'll figure it out some other time.

"So he was the one who led it away?"
A person asked, tone incredulous.
Both Sunny and Tyris nodded, the Saint drinking a cup of tea now.
'How can she drink tea after just drinking coffee?'
Sunny thought inwardly, amused.
"So when will he be returning?"
The same person asked.
Sunny noted that there was a gleam in his eyes, but he couldn't place what it was.
And luckily, he didn't need to answer the question, as Tyris herself did so.
"He won't be. He prefers to stay in the wilderness."
She spoke, barely retracting the cup of steaming tea from her lips.
There were murmurs, as there always was. But apparently, the same man wasn't happy at the vagueness.
"And what good does that do? He could help our convoys if he is so capable."
He said, tone rough and unapologetic.
Sunny bristled ever so slightly, but didn't retort.
Instead of Tyris, another voice answered.
Her voice as silky and pleasant to the ears as ever.
The famous Master known as soul reaper Jet spoke.
"Let him do as he wishes."
She paused, mimicking Tyris and taking a sip of coffee.
"He's been doing good work out there."
She added.
The man bristled, and Sunless thought he would jump up from his seated position.
"Jet your input is unnecessary."
He almost growled out.
Then he turned back to the only Saint in the room.
Coughing and buying himself a bit of time to cool off, he continued speaking.
"Saint Tyris, it would be beneficial if we could send him out on missions of importance, rather than continue letting him do whatever he pleases, at parts of the continent nobody cares for."
He spoke, voice now calm and respectful.
Tyris raised a single perfect eyebrow at the man, just a tiny bit amused.
Alas, she was a head of a clan, and couldn't outright call upon the man's lies.
"He's already doing good work, as Jet previously stated.
He's not clearing random space as you may believe.
He's opening the previously blocked paths. "
She paused, walking around the table to be able to reach a certain part of the holographic map.
Pointing a delicate and slim finger at a certain part between two hills that we're nearly mountains, she continued talking.
"As you see here, there we're a multitude of gate outbreaks soon after the campaign started.
It was immediately blocked off, a makeshift death zone.
The terrain providing the creatures safety from long ranged attacks.
And I myself being occupied with the bigger threats, it remained such until a few days prior.
The boy…"
She trailed off and looked towards Sunless.
The shadow in question monetarily played with the idea of giving the fake name, but with Morgan and a few others knowing who he was, it seemed pointless.
Especially since the boy started to wear and use his previous memories, only forming a mask from the now dark armor.
"Apex."
He answered after a moment.
Tyris nodded, before turning back to the map.
"Apex cleared it out in a single day, although we aren't sure how he managed it."
She stopped once again, moving towards an entirely different part of Antarctica.
"Here, the previously fallen docks that were completely controlled by a Terror occupying the waters, as well as another Tyrant occupying the lands, were deemed not worth the effort for such an out of the way place.
While not crucial for landing troops, or sending back civilians, it saves a lot of time as well as fuel than the current alternative of crossing half the continent on land. "
She paused and breathed in, as if she herself didn't quite believe what she was about to say.
"He cleared it a bit over a week ago."
Silence. There was only silence in the room after her words.
People staring at her with wide eyes, even Sunless.
"How."
An individual asked, no one quite sure who had said it.
Tyris silently placed down the now empty cup, sitting down and closing her eyes.
"That, I do not know."
She answered after a long moment of silence.

Slurping down a cup of instant noodles with delight, I suddenly sneezed.
Heavily. Multiple times. A lot of times. Straight into my food.
Glaring at the now inedible food, I teleported it away.
"Can't even fucking eat anymore?!"
I shouted, which resulted in a small pile of snow thrown at me, from the Winter Beast.
Apparently, it really hates loud unnatural noises.
And it seems humans didn't count as natural for the Titan.
Which… makes sense? Kind of? I don't know.
However, I do know that the snow was unnaturally cold. And I'm freezing.
Quickly standing up and teleporting several times in a circle, the snow was thrown off.
"Sorry! But you don't gotta act like a child!"
I shouted at it this time, although much quieter.
A rumble was heard, and I managed to turn around just in time to receive the snowball bigger than me straight on.
"Shi-"
I didn't even manage to finish the single word, as it slammed into me softly, myself being barely able to feel the impact.
But I certainly felt the cold.
Dropping to the ground and coiling myself into a ball, I couldn't help but start snickering.
Ah, this Titan truly is something special Isn't it?
Now, if I could just somehow cut the string it had attached to my shadowy friend, and all would be good.
