Chapter 59 - Chapter 58: New Class Assignment

Chapter 58: New Class Assignment

Morning...

A white-haired man opened his eyes as the morning light streamed in. Before getting up, he blinked a few times, then sat up—it was Ren.

He stretched his body as he got out of his luxurious bed before yawning. Then, his still-sleepy eye glanced at the clock on his table...

"..." He rubbed his eyes once.

Then twice.

And three times.

"Damn it! I'm late!" he shouted.

He immediately leaped out of his luxurious bed, hurrying towards the bathroom. Ren stumbled once when he reached the door.

He washed his face carelessly, the water soaking his handsome features.

A few minutes later...

Here he was now, standing in front of the mirror, staring at his reflection. His white hair was left messy on his forehead. His crystal blue eyes were sharp and shone like stars.

His long eyelashes followed the movement of his eyes every time he blinked.

He wore the academy uniform—white with gold threads—and a black mantle draped over his shoulder. Tight black gloves were fitted on his hands.

The badge of the Vice Student Council President and the Head of the Disciplinary Committee was pinned on his left chest.

He had a very handsome face, a sharp jawline, and if he moved his hair slightly, there would be a mole at the lower corner of his left eye.

His face could captivate women and goddesses without effort. And the most terrifying thing about Ren was that he was well aware of how handsome he was.

So, he used his handsomeness not only to charm but also to manipulate situations.

However, despite his flirtatious nature, he never engaged in anything vulgar or dating.

"And for the last touch…"

Ren took out an earring shaped like a water droplet from his storage space—only one. Then he clipped it onto his left ear.

The earring served to seal his mana so that it wouldn't leak.

"Done…" Ren looked at his reflection again, and smirked while tilting his head.

"I am the most handsome man in the world," he said narcissistically.

After tidying his clothes up a little more, he left. Today was the day for new class placements for all years.

Ren glanced at the black wristwatch on his wrist. He tapped it a few times.

[Ren Ozawa: Second Year]

Class: S

Occupation: Vice Student Council President and Head of the Disciplinary Committee.

Ren smiled faintly, then turned off his watch.

"Class S, of course."

Meanwhile, in the Second Year Class S classroom. Students had gathered and chosen their seats. There were several people who stood out here, such as:

Leonhard Astria.

Amy Eldoria.

Nara Arcanist

Kael Dragon.

And finally, Evelyn Monbast

The five of them sat together. Amy, Nara, and Evelyn sat together. Then Leon with Kael; the seat next to them was empty. That seat was for someone, and that person hadn't arrived yet.

They were all laughing and smiling while talking; Kael's loud voice echoed in the classroom.

"Where is that white-haired guy?" Kael asked. The question made the entire class fall silent except for the five of them.

The "white-haired guy" he referred to was Ren, the strongest second-year student. Leon chuckled, leaning back.

"Ren is probably running late." Tilting his head, Leon continued, "And I guess that's reasonable since he just got back from a mission and was immediately ordered to work."

Amy, who was sitting in front of them, spoke with a pouting tone. "He didn't look tired last night. He even managed to tease me!"

Leon laughed softly, then leaned his body forward. "He's always like that to you, right?"

"He often said that you used to mock him a lot." Leon pointed at Amy. "So, maybe Ren is getting his revenge?"

Amy grumbled softly but didn't answer, because what Leon said was true. Then another voice sounded next to her, soft and slightly joking.

"Oh, Leon, stop teasing her."

The voice came from Evelyn. Her silver hair cascaded down to her waist, and her fox ears peeked out from both sides of her head.

Her silver gemstone eyes shone as she looked at Leon.

Leon turned, looking into Evelyn's eyes. "Teasing?" He leaned back again, turning toward Kael.

"I don't think so, right, Kael?"

Kael answered Leon's question with a shrug. "I don't know."

To clarify Kael's appearance, he was the son of the Eastern Duke. They were known for having large, steel-hard bodies.

Also, they didn't fight using weapons; they fought purely with their bodies and aura.

The nickname given to that family was [The Impregnable Fortress].

And here was Kael, attending school, studying, and befriending them with a height of nearly two meters.

"Hmph… You always act neutral."

Then Leon glanced at Nara, who was next to Evelyn. She had been silent until now and only smiled occasionally.

"Nara? Why are you just quiet?"

Hearing Leon ask, Nara turned her head. "Nothing… Just thinking about something."

Nara replied. Her dark blue hair swayed as she turned. And her ocean blue eyes shone. Her face was beautiful, one of the most beautiful in the second year, along with Evelyn and Amy in this class.

And they had already attracted a lot of attention because they sat together due to their appearance.

There was Leon with his charismatic aura and face, Kael with his firmness, Amy with her cute face and body, then Evelyn with her beautiful face and seductive aura.

Lastly, Nara with her cold and reserved look. This earned her the nickname [Ice Princess].

Then, as if waiting for that moment, the classroom door opened—Ren entered with a steady stride and his chin held high.

Every step he took seemed to make the air kneel. And the students, especially the girls, froze.

His face, which looked as if it was sculpted by many gods and prayed for by goddesses, made their knees weak.

Even Amy, Evelyn, and Nara, who often saw him, were not exempt from his charm. They froze, they swallowed hard, and even Evelyn openly drooled.

Leon rubbed the bridge of his nose, "Always seeking attention…"

"This time... I think I agree with you…"

Ren looked around the class, then his eyes stopped on them, and he smiled. But in the eyes of the girls, it was like a sudden attack.

"Kyaa!!"

"Ren! Ren!!"

"Prince, I love you!!"

Blood dripped from their noses as they screamed. But Ren pretended to ignore them and walked toward Leon and the others.

Once he arrived, Leon immediately said with a wrinkled face.

"You damn playboy and woman killer."

Kael nodded. "I wanted to say the same thing, but you beat me to it," he stared sharply at Ren, "but it's fine."

"Hey! Come on, guys, this isn't my fault!" he said while sitting down to Leon's left, as if the seat was always meant for him. And in fact? He was right.

Leon rolled his eyes, looking forward. "Tch, whatever, you old man."

Ren's eyebrow twitched violently hearing that, a vein bulging on his forehead. "Say that one more time, and you'll die, shithead."

Leon immediately turned, staring sharply. Leon and Ren. The two of them looked at each other with murderous intent.

But just then, the classroom door opened again. This time it wasn't a student but a Professor who entered. Everyone immediately turned, including Ren and Leon.

The Professor arrived in the center of the class, bowing slightly to introduce herself.

"Hello, Cadets, my name is Lyla Maryam, and I will be your Class Representative and Professor from now on."

Hearing her name, the students' eyes immediately widened. They knew that name; who didn't? The woman was a flare of fire on the Neutral Continent.

She came suddenly out of nowhere and built a reputation on this continent with her terrifying fire magic.

She also earned the nickname [Hellfire] for being the youngest bare-handed mage and Tier Seven mage of this generation.

This woman was the only mage who could coat her hands in magic based on her own discovery.

For everyone, and for the students in this class, she was a motivation for mages to become stronger. However, for one person—Ren—this was his nightmare.

Because Lyla, that woman, was the same person who terrified Ren half to death when he lived in Doren village.

Not because he was bullied—but because the woman was obsessed with him for two full years, until she suddenly disappeared out of nowhere.

Lyla's gaze swept across the classroom, then stopped at Ren. Slowly, she smiled widely. That made Ren shiver.

"I'm dead…"

"What?" Leon heard Ren's muttering. He turned and tilted his head curiously.

"…"
