Tyler lay on his bed, gaze stuck to the ceiling.
He wasn't too sure what to make of it. Of what had happened, and of what was yet to happen.
Could getting knocked out by an old bum really change his dating life for the better?
Usually, something like this would only get a person some pity here and there. Not even the good kind of pity, depending on how the story is told. If the old man was made out to be some drugged-out-of-his-mind bum, the encounter could have some flashiness to it. Otherwise, the attacked would end up looking weak and pathetic, more pathetic than the old bum himself.

Tyler still had some trouble fully accepting the System's power.
It had calmed his nerves, sharpened his sense of hearing, and slowed time to a halt. His rational mind, which did not believe in anything magical, otherworldly, or even spiritual, combatted the belief and poked holes in the proof.
There was only one thing that could truly prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt.
