Chapter 8 - switch

Rayo arrived in the kingdom of Majestav, specifically the estate of Rivera, but he had no food, no shelter, no friends, no loved ones. He was alone with only hunger, and for weeks, he would occasionally collapse and die from starvation. Minutes later, he would rise, teetering on the brink of death, falling and rising again, as if his body refused to die.

After some time, one day Rayo fell as usual, but this time he fell in front of the eldest son of the Rivera family, Reno Rivera. Reno looked at him with contempt, as if to say, "How dare you cross my path?"

Then, with a mocking smile, he kicked him.

The force of the kick sent Rayo's small body crashing against a wall. Although Rayo was fully conscious, he didn't want to get up again. That night, snow fell, covering most of Rayo's body, and he breathed heavily from the intense cold.

Someone brushed the snow off him and wrapped him in a heavy blanket, which eased the chill on Rayo's frail body.

...Rayo woke up... On a bed in a luxuriously sized room, he got up and noticed that all traces of hunger had vanished from his body. Moments later, a woman dressed as a maid entered and, not seeing him in bed, turned her head and found him gazing out of the huge window at the enchanting garden outside.

"Thank God for your safety, young master," the maid said in a calm tone.

"Where am I?" Rayo asked in surprise.

"You are in the Arnov family mansion," the maid replied.

"And... who are you?" Rayo asked.

"I'm sorry," the maid said with a smile, "I didn't introduce myself before. I'm Verin, your personal assistant. And by the way, Mr. Arnov told me I should take you to his office as soon as you woke up."

"Alright, let's go," Rayo said.

"But first, you must change your clothes," Verin said. "The master has prepared clothes especially for you." He put on the clothes, which gave him a noble, aristocratic appearance, and then headed to the master's office. When he opened the door, he found the master waiting for him.

Mr. Arnov asked Rayo to sit down, and then Rayo told Mr. Arnov his whole story, from his home village and the sect to the present day.

Mr. Arnov said to Rayo in a gentle tone, "There's no need to be sad now. Leave it be. The past is gone and won't return with sadness or regret. Focus now on your present and your future. Consider this house your home, and consider me your father. I will be here if you need me."

Rayo nodded. "I will never forget this kindness, Mr. Arnov." "Mr. Arnov, very well. You may go now and enjoy your time."

After that, Rayo settled into the Arnov family mansion.
