As usual, Jefferson handled his problems calmly. Although his father was beginning to suspect him, he refused to admit it openly. His father's questions were actually quite easy for him to answer. However, he needed to strategize to prevent Carabella from getting dragged into his troubles. Because all of these problems stemmed from his selfish desire to always have Carabella by his side.
His calm expression was the only thing he could rely on right now. "Dad, of course I really like Carabella. But I like her like a real sister."
Hearing his son's gentle, always contradictory response calmed him somewhat. "It's a blessing that you love Ella like your own sister."
"I've always wanted a cute and adorable little sister. I think Ella would be the perfect little sister."
"What you say makes sense. I even consider her my own daughter." His eyes smirked at his son. "But, I still feel something is off. Do you really like Ella as your little sister?"
