Carabella wondered what Jefferson was really planning. She hoped he wouldn't go so far as to become a victim of bullying himself. Would he publish an article alleging Larissa was his mistress? She desperately hoped he would annul the marriage some other way. Larissa's family, known for their perfectionism, also frightened her.
Several minutes had passed, and Jefferson still hadn't said a word. Her eyes barely blinked as she stared at the handsome face, which shone even brighter in her eyes. "Jeff, you didn't use any strange method to break off your wedding, did you?"
"Don't tell me you think I'm going to spread fake news that we're sleeping together in a hotel!"
