Rahul was knocking on the door continuously. "We are so late! Get up you guys..." I got starled. My eyes refused to open so I tentatively reached out with my hands in search of Aryan. He was right beside me. I hugged him instantly. My hands on his evenly breathing torso indicated that he was fast asleep. I could feel the cold breeze around us. Hear the sound of people roaming outside our room and the aluminium sheet hitting against the roof due to the wind again and again. I took a deep breath and hugged him even tighter which caused him to shuffle and he hugged me right back. In Shimla's cold embrace, I found the most warm and comforting one until Asha crashed in. "What the fuck guys! We need to leave its 8.30. Do you guys not wanna eat?" "Noooo and please close the door on your way out" Heer replied in a groagy voice. "You guys are so weird for this." Annoyance was visible in her tone. Sometimes I admire Heer so much. Asha slammed the door on us and left. "Do you not wanna eat? We have a long day ahead of us" I whispered sweetly in Aryan's ear. He nodded and hummed in response. "Comeon love, wakeup." After tapping his shoulder twice, I sat up and tied my hair in a bun. I stretched my arms and yawned. After rubbing my eyes agressively, I had a good look at his pretty face . He looked so peaceful. I stroked his face with the back of my hand. Moments like these feel so surreal. I got up and went to the mirror to check for any marks on my neck. None. I woke him up one more time before I went to the washroom and freshened up. Aryan most probably went to his own room to freshen up. I fixed my hair and put a little gloss on my lips. I woke Meera up and got her ready as well. I took out all our clothes to get them ironed. We were all gonna wear flowy dresses in the mountains.
At almost 10 am Rahul started screaming to gather us in the hall. We had jeeps rented to travel in the moutains. I really wanted to sit with Aryan. So I roamed around near him. One jeep could only fit 9 people at a time or else it could tip over. Sahil sat with the driver. Vijay, Heer, Meera , Me, Asha and Naina sat in the passengers seat and Ranbir and Aryan sat in the back. The driver hopped off the car and pointed towards us. One of you need to change cars because too many people. We all looked at each other. Then out of nowhere, Asha said "I'll go , yall enjoy.." Well, that was unexpected but ok. "Don't stop her." Said Heer. I looked back seeing a little empty space and hopped over in the back seat. "Let me sit beside you." He smiled. "Ofcourse."
After a few kilometres the view outside started to get more and more mesmerizing. We kept pointing out at random things like birds, frozen icy moutain tops, glaciers and so much more. I never left his hand during our whole ride. Then we stopped at a spot after an hour long drive. It was lake of some kind. We clicked a few photos. Aryan also clicked a few photos with his friends. Rahul kept bombing our group photos. It was most probably because he wanted to get a photo with Meera. It was super annoying. After a while of exploring the area, we went back into the car in the same positions. The weather started getting colder as we went into the heights of the mountains. It was almost 2 pm by then, we were gonna stop at a mountain top. A tourist spot it was. We were now on a road where frozen mountains srrounded us. We could touch it as well. Then Heer saw a man selling colorful snow cones. She screamed "I wanna buy that!" So Heer, Meera and I got a snow cone. We made videos with it, but it was so huge that I had to throw half of it. I kept Aryan's hand on my thigh and he squeezed it. Meera turned her head around and asked "What are you guys talking about? I wanna know too.. " She sounded like she was cooing at a baby. Honestly speaking, it annoyed me. "Nothing of your interest, love." I answered in the same baby voice. She huffed and turned back. We had almost reach the spot when Aryan said "Look! Isn't that beautiful?" It was a mountain peak covered in snow. Without a second thought I answered "We should go there." I saw a group of people hiking too. Meera joined, "I'll come along" I looked at her "You sure you can hike?" She just gave me a side eye.
When we reached the spot it was a sight to sore eyes. Frozen moutains all around us and melted glaciers flowing from a few spots. It was surreal. Rahul started shouting about how we only have 2 hours so yall better hurry up. This is why I don't like covering multiple spots in one day. It is so hard to savour each one completely. We clicked a few group photos. And started hiking towards the spot where the galcier was coming from. It looked very steep. Everyone was either already on thier way or was after us. Aryan helped me and Meera hike the mountain carefully. Asha, Naina and Heer were hiking together. Zee and Vijay seemed to be hiking together. Wierd. There were screams and laughter everywhere. We clicked a few photos and videos. Asha dipped her feet into the stream with her shoes on. Why is she like that man. When were like a 20 minute hike away from the main spot. Rahul started screaming "Come back yall. Its time to go back. We have other spots to cover." We ignored him the best we could but he seemed to be pointing only me, Meera and Aryan probably for jealousy reasons. So eventually we gave up and turned back to the jeeps. Everyone sat in the same places as before.
After what almost seemed like half an hour. We reached an open area. It had a still valley surrounded by mountains and the greenest field I had ever seen. There were mules and horses roaming around with thier owners who were selling us rides. It got me so excited i almost started jumping. "I wanna take a horse ride pleasee!" I started screaming. " I don't think I can do that. I'm not wearing anything undernearth my skirt." Meera said nervously. " Its fine, I'll make sure its covered up.." I replied and hopped on the first horse I saw. It turned out to be a mule though. They were too tall for a mule. Meera and I made videos and clicked pictures together. In order to go on the other side of the ground you had to cross the valley using the boat. So we decided to do that. Aryan sat with the boys and I sat with the girls. After meeting on the other side me and Aryan both pointed towards the same spot. "Lets go there" Meera huffed, "I dont think i will be able to hike anymore." Aryan insisted so she came along.
We crossed another little stream and after what seemed like 15 mins of hike we realized that this was gonna take atleast 2 hours and we were supposed to go back in like 20 minutes. So we decided to end it there. It was so disappointing. Meera and I sat on a 2 person swing. I screamed at Aryan to make a video of us. We then boated our way back on the other side and then in the car. Our next stop was a food point and another open green field. Everything there was so mesmerizing. It started getting cold now. We ate daal and roti at this place. They had a lot of people around. Zee's group and our group we sat together. Asha, Heer sat with Sahil and Ranbir. Something was going on with Heer and Vijay. Naina saw a cute guy who passed by and said " Guys i need his number, he is so cute." Zee didn't think twice and called upon him "Excuse me, Hi." He turned around in surprise, "Yess?" He wasn't shocked at all and replied in a very calm tone, "Sure, but I know this is either a dare or a prank. I know she won't contact me." I replied "You have to rethink on this one." He gave his number and laughed it off. We kept laughing about it after he was gone. Once we were done with the food, we smoked a little and went into the field. Asha and Naina enjoyed a little horse riding and Vijay and Zee sat on the same horse. Ok now this was a little over the edge. I really despise this woman when she gets too close with my friends. At this point I was shivering. It was almost 4 pm and the sun was setting. There was no sunshine left to take some warmth. Only a little on the top of the mountain which was infront of us. I asked Aryan if we can go sit there. He was so ready. Meera started huffing again "I told you guys I can't hike no more." "Its just a few more steps and then we can sit for an hour or so. Comeon! Hurry!" Aryan motivated her. We hurried a little and sat on one spot. No one could see us there. It would have been awkward if Meera wasn't there. "U are such a pookie Aryan" Meera held his hand. Not going to lie it did spark my jealousy but what could I have said. Its not like we were dating. He was open to holding hands with anyone. He smiled at her. We hopped in the back seat and off we went on our way back to the hotel.
During the whole ride Meers kept yapping about how we met. How I was a dumbass in childhood and roamed after a girl like a puppy. Yeah I was a little gay in childhood. Aryan came from downstairs and asked me "Ready?" "Yeah, just waiting for Meera. Vijay doesn't wanna go?" I started walking towards his room. "Where is Heer?" I felt like he was stopping me from going in that direction. I knock at the door. No response. Beside the door was a huge glass window blinded from inside the room. The blinders had spaces so I peaked inside the room. I saw Vijay with a girl. She was wearing Maroon. I gasped and looked at Aryan. He didn't seem shocked. "Come lets go, we are gonna be late." "I think I saw Zee with Vijay." I whispered to Meera. She gasped as well. "What the hell?" I calmed myself down. Why am I mad?. We went to the same resturant but on the roof top. They were burning wood to start a bonefire. I saw Heer and asked her to come to the side "We need to talk." Aryan sat with the boys and Meera joined us. "What is it guys I wanna know too" Asha screamed. "Its something personal Asha" She looked hurt at my response but ignored us. I took her to the side and told her what I saw. "They must have had sex." I laughed. "What?" "No Ayesha! I am telling you. You don't know him!" I assured her, "Zee isn't like that, they might have made out but she won't have sex with him don't worry." Meera joined the conversation calming her down. "Come lets go enjoy the fire." We went and sat down beside the fire savouring the heat and warmth. Naina told me that the guy whose number we took earlier is coming here. "I need you to come with me." "Oh sure I'll come with you." We went downstairs and roamed around with that guy in the bazar. The bazar was almost closed. Only a few lights were flickering here and there mostly the street lights. "Do you wanna go upstairs in out hotel?" Naina asked the guy. "That seems like a good idea. Sure." I saw Aryan and Meera on our way back so I told Naina I'll catch up with them later. She nodded. I joined them. "I need to buy that purse from earlier." "Oh yes! Thats a great idea." We went along the streets to find that shop. We went inside and asked him to give us that purse. We bargained a little more and he agreed upon 2500 rupees. After buying that we went into another shop. Meera liked a bracelet and an earing. After foolinh around in thay shop and wasting an hour on bargaining we bought that ourselves matching bracelets and earings.
I was extremely tired but also not ready to face the fact that Meera was going to spend time with Aryan. We went into the room. I put my bag and started combinh my hair. Meera gave me a look and asked. "You want to give us company or what?" I looked at them and said " Oh no i was just leaving." I put the brush down in a hurry and left the room forgetting my phone inside. Naina and the guy from earlier were sitting together talking to eachother while they enjoyed the view. "Mind if i join you guys?" " Ofcourse not! Please join us!" The guy offered me a chair. Very sweet. I talked to them for a while after which I started getting curious about whatever was going on inside our room. To pass my time, I thought of peeing. So i went inside Zee's room and straight to the toilet. While i was peeing, I heard the room door open and shut. Then I heard Ankita whisper," Its Ayesha. Shes in the toilet. Ayesha, Ayesha." Very suspicious. I opened the door and my sister had her mascara smudged, hair roughed up and was talking to Ankita about something. "What is it?" They got startled. "Nothing, she just had a fight with her husband. Shes crying." I noded and went and knocked the door of our room. No response. I knocked again. Meera opened with a tight smile."Yes?" "I have nothing to do so i thought might as well give you some company." I gave her a teeth smile. "What the fuck do you mean you have nothing to do. Scroll some reels!" I dropped the smile. "But my phone is inside!" "Then find it and get lost!" Shit. That hurt. I went inside and saw Aryan stood up beside the bed as if he was waiting for me to leave. I picked up my phone from the side table and walked towards the door. "Hey listen! Can you ask Vijay to call me if he is done?" Aryan said. I noded and left. I went again into Zee's room and sat in her bed and started scrolling instagram. Done with what? I thought about what Aryan said. Ankita kept repeating the same shit over and over to Zee. As if it was rehearsed. "Was her super mad? Did he say shit to you? Was he super mad?" At this point it annoyed me to my core. What in the world were they trying to hide from me? I left the room in annoyance and went to Vijays room. Sahil, Ranbeer, Heer and Asha were sitting on the bed. Vibing to songs and actually enjoying. "Do u guys mind? My head hurts. I just need a little nap. I will not disturb you guys." "Ofcourse not take that bed its all yours" Heer replied. "Wake me up in an hour okay?" I requested Heer and she nodded. That would be enough for that asshole. I took the very end of the bed with the wall and after a few twists and turns, I was out.
