Zane spoke the command to his main assistant without so much as a glance toward the man, who stood a few feet in front of the desk clutching a notepad.
His focus was anchored entirely on the jewelry sketch he had been obsessing over since last night—an idea that had jolted him awake from a strange, vivid dream.
The design still looked somewhat… unknown, even to him, but he consoled himself with the fact that it was merely a rough draft and he had been out of the game for a long time.
"But sir, you have important meetings starting at 1:00 p.m., and there's another at—"
Zane finally looked up, his sharp gaze meeting the bewildered eyes of his assistant. "Push them all until tomorrow. Make up some plausible excuses and send my sincere apologies. I have someplace I need to be at the moment."
He glanced at the wall clock, his brow furrowing. He was already running late.
