Chapter 54 - . curiosity

54. Curiosity

Circe strutted out of the gate, hair flipping, sunglasses on, fake confidence at 200%.

People nearby were whispering.

Circe smirked.

Ah, finally. They must be admiring my beauty. As usual… I can't go anywhere without causing a scene.

She tilted her chin upward with peak arrogance.

"Damn these people," she said loudly, flipping her hair.

"They never leave a BEAUTY like ME alone.

Maximilian, they trouble me everywhere I go."

Kyron blinked.

Maximilian stayed silent, as always.

But then—

The whispers got louder.

And NOT ONE was about Circe.

"Did you see her two hours ago??" "That BEAUTY GODDESS… breathtaking…" "She looked divine—her aura was unreal—" "I swear she had lips like ROSE PETALS !" "She was wearing that deep midnight blue dress—"

Midnight blue.

Circe was wearing bright pastel peach.

Her ego tripped.

But she refused to accept reality.

So Circe puffed her chest proudly, assuming they MUST be talking about her.

"Well, it's not exactly this color," she said loudly, touching her peach dress.

"But yes, this shade is from a VERY famous brand.

Since you were PRAISING my beauty from the beginning, I forgive your, uh… little illiteracy."

The group froze.

Then one girl snapped back:

"…Who is even talking about YOU?!"

Circe's smile cracked like cheap glass.

Kyron instantly turned around, pretending to cough as he fought a laugh.

Maximilian finally looked up, silent but clearly paying attention.

Another woman stepped forward, blushing hard.

"No!! We mean the REAL goddess!

The stunning girl from two hours ago!! My God, she was BEAUTIFUL!!

Like… I can't forget her face!"

Another man added:

"She wasn't human. She was—perfect. Her eyes… her aura—"

Circe's eyelid twitched.

A third person joined:

"I could worship her. I mean, I still feel like I'm in love with her—"

Circe snapped.

"IS THAT SO?!" she said while gritting her teeth , voice trembling with rage.

More people gathered, all excited.

"She walked like royalty…" "She looked like an angel—" "No, a demon—" "The wind literally moved around her!" "And she move like a Gracefull Goddess —"

Every sentence stabbed Circe's ego.

Her face heated in humiliation.

Kyron pressed his fist to his mouth, shoulders shaking.

Maximilian stood very still, listening to the descriptions with a sharp, unreadable look.

Rose petals lips.

Gracefull walk like Goddess.

Overwhelming beauty.

His curiosity sharpened like a blade's edge.

Circe snapped at the crowd:

"SHUT UP!!

Why are you obsessing over some RANDOM woman!?

Can't you see me standing here?!"

The crowd looked at her like she was a mosquito interrupting a festival.

One man muttered:

"Lady… you're blocking the path."

Kyron almost lost it.

Maximilian's eyebrow twitched—but not out of annoyance.

Out of interest.

He didn't care for Circe's tantrum.

He cared about the unknown goddess who left half the airport bewitched.

Kyron leaned slightly closer to Maximilian, voice low but teasing:

"…What a shame, sir.

We didn't get to see the goddess they're all praising."

Circe's head snapped toward him like a dragon.

Kyron straightened instantly, clearing his throat:

"Ahem—my lady, shall we… leave now?"

Circe clung to Maximilian's arm dramatically.

"Let's go, Max! They're just jealous of me.

Ignore all these rude people!"

Max stepped away just enough so she didn't cling fully.

He sighed and walked forward.

But…

Kyron's words

and the crowd's worship

and the mysterious description—

They lingered in Maximilian's mind.

And for the first time that day…

A faint, barely visible smile ghosted across his face.
