Maximilian sat silently in his office chair, fingers steepled against his lips, mind replaying every second of that night.
The yellow glowing eyes.
The hoodie.
The mask.
Her hands on Aiden and Chloe—healing them like it was nothing.
And the way she vanished… like fog caught in a sudden wind.
Mysterious woman.
Only her.
The same woman he's been trying to understand for weeks.
But the questions tormented him:
Who really is she?
How does she know what's happening inside my mansion?
How did she walk in like she already knew the danger?
And why… why heal Aiden and Chloe but not mother?
His jaw tightened.
Something was wrong.
Something wasn't adding up.
Maximilian Calls Kyron
Maximilian stood abruptly.
"Kyron."
Kyron, who was sorting documents, jumped.
"Y–yes sir?"
"Where is my mother?"
Kyron blinked, confused. "Same as before, sir… The doctors said she will take time. She isn't getting worse anymore, so she should recover slowly."
Slowly…?
Maximilian's brows knotted.
If that woman could heal Aiden and Chloe within seconds…
If she could close wounds, reverse attacks, and restore consciousness…
Then why did she leave his mother in that state?
Because the woman lying on the bed wasn't just weak.
She was unnaturally weak.
In Eleanor's Room
Kyron led him through the quiet hallway.
Maximilian entered the dim room, breath hitching.
His mother lay there peacefully…
But her face was pale, almost greyish.
Her hair—once dark—now a dull silver.
Her body frail, like someone sucked the life out of her.
No signs of a demon.
No thrashing, no screaming, no possession.
Just… emptiness.
Max's throat tightened.
He remembered very clearly what he saw earlier.
Her eyes.
The voice.
Her sudden unnatural strength.
It wasn't hallucination.
It wasn't madness.
It was real.
But now?
Nothing.
She looked like a woman from the 90s horror stories—drained, exhausted, lost.
Maximilian's Internal Realization
So she really was possessed…
And maybe that mysterious woman broke that connection.
Maybe mother is weak because the thing inside her was ripped out.
But then a painful truth stabbed him:
If that woman truly healed her fully… she would've recovered instantly.
Just like Aiden.
Just like Chloe.
That means…
Either that woman couldn't heal her…
Or she didn't want to.
Both possibilities shook him.
And Meanwhile…
Neither Aiden nor Chloe remembered the incident.
All they remembered was their Aunt Eleanor got shifted mansion due to hospital incident...but after shifting here every thing is peacefull..
Later -
coming back from college,
feeling tired,
falling asleep.
Nothing else.
No demon.
No mysterious woman.
No near-death.
They couldn't remember because mysterious woman erased their memories clean.
She did not erase Max's...(Actually she did )
He remembered everything sharply, painfully, vividly.
Even Kyron didn't remembered anything after ...madam Eleanor's shifting to mansion...rest is peacefull fir him as well—all he remembered due to his fever he fainted before seeing anything, so even he was unaware.
Only Maximilian carried the truth.
Only he knew she came.
Only he knew what she did.
And only he knew… his mother's state wasn't natural.
Maximilian's Breathing Stiffened
He dragged a hand through his hair, frustration simmering beneath his skin.
He needed answers.
He needed the woman who could walk through walls of danger…
Who could manipulate memories…
Who could rip demons out of bodies…
Who looked at him with those glowing eyes like she already knew him.
But how?
She came and went like mist.
There were no footprints.
No traces.
No surveillance footage—
because she erased that too.
She left him with nothing.
Nothing except questions that clawed at him.
---
Kyron Watched Him Quietly
"Sir… are you alright?"
Maximilian didn't answer.
His eyes stayed locked on Eleanor.
On her weak body.
On the silvering hair.
On the empty shell she became.
His voice finally came out low, cold, determined:
"Kyron…"
"Yes, sir?"
"We're going to find her."
Kyron blinked. "Who, sir?"
Maximilian's jaw tightened.
"The woman who healed Aiden and Chloe."
Kyron froze.
He didn't remember any such thing.
But the way Maximilian said it…
Kyron didn't dare question.
"Y-yes sir. How do we start?"
Maximilian exhaled slowly, his stare haunted, burning, obsessive.
"That's what I'm trying to figure out."
---
But deep inside…
A part of him already knew:
That woman wasn't someone who could be found by normal means.
She would appear again when she wanted.
When she chose.
And the next time she came…
Maximilian swore he wouldn't let her vanish again.
