Chapter 103 - .Not a threat

103. Not a threat

IN SOLARVEX INTERSPACE CORPORATION…

SolarVex wasn't just a company.

It was a kingdom built out of glass, steel, and money.

The headquarters towered over the city like a spear piercing the sky—

a masterpiece of obsidian metal, shimmering photovoltaic panels, and a floating holo-emblem of a blazing star.

Inside, everything breathed power and elegance—

crystal-lit corridors, polished marble floors, smart-glass walls shifting from transparent to opaque like liquid silver.

Every employee moved with clockwork precision, terrified to mess up even a comma under the man who ruled this empire.

---

SOLARVEX – MAXIMILIAN & KYRON AT WORK --

The CEO's office sat on the 89th floor, a panoramic view of the city stretching endlessly behind Maximilian's back.

Inside that office?

Silence.

Intensity.

Authority so thick it felt like gravity itself bowed to him.

Maximilian sat behind a massive obsidian desk, his sleeves rolled to his elbows, veins subtly showing as he flipped through documents with a razor-sharp gaze. His tie hung slightly loose—an extremely rare sign he had been working nonstop.

Across from him stood Kyron, holding a holographic clipboard, posture straight, serious… almost military.

To outsiders, he was merely an assistant.

But in truth—

Kyron was Maximilian's childhood friend.

The one who had seen him laugh.

The one who had seen him bleed.

The one person who could speak freely outside office hours.

But right now?

They weren't friends.

They were SolarVex officials—cold, disciplined, untouchable.

Not a smile.

Not a slip.

Just flawless efficiency.

---

Maximilian flipped a page.

Signed.

Flipped another.

Paused.

A certain expansion branch file appeared—

one that normally belonged to Aiden's department. That's right as Aiden is 24 already ,Maximilian let Aiden to work in his company to gain knowledge and experience about how business world works.

And yes afterall Aiden is not some hopeless fool who just depends on his elder brother. That guy has talent of rational thinking and managing things to its extreme perfection since his high school years.

But...Now that rational thinker has turn into lovesick puppy...

His eyebrow twitched.

His jaw clenched.

"…Aiden would've handled this flawlessly," he muttered, irritation leaking through his usually controlled voice.

Kyron's eyes flicked up.

"You want me to call him in?"

Maximilian clicked his pen a little too hard.

"No. That moron has turned into a lovesick puppy. If he steps in here, he'll probably stare at his phone and blush over that girl again."

Kyron barely suppressed a smile—barely.

He remembered the dinner.

Aiden turning red.

Grinning stupidly.

Trying to hide his phone like a teenager in love.

Kyron cleared his throat.

"If you want, sir… we can investigate her. Or introduce him to someone suitable—"

"No."

The word was sharp—cutting the air like a blade.

Kyron blinked. "No?"

Maximilian exhaled slowly, voice low but iron-hard.

"Just confirm she's not a threat.

Not a scammer.

Not someone from the underground.

And definitely not someone like that yellow-eyed woman."

His fingers curled into a tight fist.

Even remembering those cursed yellow eyes made his blood burn.

"She touched my family," he whispered, voice trembling with restrained fury.

"She healed them. And she infiltrated our systems like they were toys."

He leaned forward, eyes glowing with cold rage.

"I will not allow another supernatural parasite anywhere near them. Make sure of it."

Kyron nodded instantly, dropping the playful tone completely.

"Understood."

Maximilian leaned back, eyes icy.

"And no—I have no interest in love. Or romance. Or whatever nonsense Aiden has fallen into."

Kyron gave a stiff nod.

Professional mode: fully locked in.

---

THE YELLOW-EYED DEMON – THE OBSESSION

Maximilian's voice dropped.

"Any updates on the yellow-eyed demon?"

Kyron's shoulders fell.

"…Nothing. Not a trace. Whoever she is, she's erased herself perfectly."

Maximilian's fingertips pressed into the obsidian desk.

A muscle in his jaw twitched.

"She appeared out of nowhere.

Healed Aiden and Chloe.

Destroyed my surveillance.

Vanished like smoke."

His voice was not human-soft.

It was blade-sharp.

"I don't care if she's a demon, a witch, a deity, or something else entirely."

His eyes darkened.

"Bring. Me. Anything."

Kyron bowed his head.

"Yes, sir."

Outside, the SolarVex emblem blazed like a star—

unaware its emperor's calm was cracking.
