Chapter 127 - Lost puppy

127.Lost puppy

THE DEVILISH ANGEL DESCENDS..

The car door opened.

And Marcelline stepped out.

Not walked — descended

like a creature carved from forbidden heavens.

The morning sun hit her at the perfect angle, turning her hair into liquid fire and her eyes into molten gold.

Kyron and Maximilian froze.

Literally.

They stopped functioning.

Kyron's mouth fell open.

Maximilian forgot what oxygen was.

Both men… struck silent like idiots before a goddess.

Max's heart thudded painfully.

Kyron whispered, half dying,

"Is she— is she even HUMAN??"

Max didn't answer.

Because in this moment, no…

she looked like an angel who got bored of heaven and decided to torment mortals for fun.

---

She sauntered forward with that walk —

too elegant, too confident, too dangerously mesmerizing.

She stopped in front of Kyron.

Tilted her head.

Smirk curling like she was tasting amusement.

"Who…?" she asked, voice soft but slicing sharp.

Kyron blinked slowly.

He was so overwhelmed he forgot the context of life itself.

"Yes…?"

He answered like a student being called in class.

Marcelline's brows raised.

"No. I asked," she leaned in slightly,

"who was driving the car that hit me?"

Kyron's brain blue-screened.

"I— uh— yes?"

Marcelline fought a grin.

She placed a finger under his chin and lifted lightly.

"I didn't ask if you 'yes', sweetheart,"

she teased, eyes dancing.

"I asked who."

Kyron squeaked.

Actually squeaked.

"Uh— me?"

Maximilian slapped a hand over his own face.

---

Maximilian Tries to Interfere..

"Miss," he stepped forward, trying to regain control,

"we apologize for the accident. We'll compensate—"

Marcelline turned to him.

Maximilian forgot the rest of his sentence.

Her eyes locked with his — bright, dangerous, enchanting.

A slow devilish smile spread on her lips.

"Compensation?"

She echoed.

"Oh? So you wish to…"

she tapped her finger on her chin dramatically,

"buy my forgiveness?"

Kyron choked.

Max's jaw tightened.

"No— we just— it's only fair—"

"Fair?"

She stepped closer.

"So hitting my car is fair?"

"No— that's not—"

"So I should accept your money because your boy here can't drive straight?"

She teased, flicking her gaze at Kyron who looked like he was ready to implode.

Kyron whimpered,

"I CAN drive straight— usually!"

Marcelline gasped dramatically.

"Oh? You admit today you weren't driving straight? How interesting~"

Kyron: dead.

Max: glitching.

Marcelline: thriving.

---

Max took a breath, tried again.

"Whatever the cost of the car repair, we'll—"

Marcelline raised a hand.

Instant silence.

"Cost?" she repeated slowly.

"You think I care about the cost of a car?"

Kyron blinked.

Max froze.

She leaned in, smirk widening.

"You two can't afford my patience," she whispered.

Both men felt a cold shiver run down their spine.

Then she leaned back and tapped her car lightly.

"And this?"

She scoffed gently.

"This is nothing."

---

She Switches to Amusement..

Marcelline then turned to Kyron with a wicked smile.

"You know…" she said, as if sharing a secret,

"I should be furious."

Kyron swallowed.

Hard.

"But…"

Her smile widened into a grin.

"You made my morning more entertaining than I expected."

Kyron blinked.

"Is… that good?"

Marcelline shrugged playfully.

"For me?

Yes."

Kyron faintly whispered, "Max… she scares me…"

Max quietly, "She scares me too."

Marcelline heard it.

She smirked like a devil who got EXACTLY the reaction she wanted.

She took one step toward them—

enough for her aura to brush them like icy silk.

Max and Kyron stiffened instantly.

Her eyes darkened just a little —

not dangerous enough to expose herself,

but enough to make them feel her power under the surface.

"I'll forgive this…"

She said softly.

Both men exhaled.

"…if you stop hitting innocent women on the road."

Both inhaled again.

Kyron nodded violently.

"I WILL NEVER HIT ANYONE AGAIN— EVER— IN MY LIFE—"

Marcelline patted his cheek.

"Good boy."

Kyron almost died.

---

Her Departure...

Marcelline walked past them with a graceful sway of confidence.

Before she entered her car, she turned her head slightly, eyes on Maximilian.

"And next time…"

her voice like honey dipped in danger,

"try not to stare too long. You might forget to breathe entirely."

She winked.

Got in her car.

And drove away—

leaving two grown men standing on the road, utterly speechless.

Kyron whispered,

"Max… was that… a goddess?"

Maximilian watched the disappearing car, jaw tight, fascinated, restless, shaken.

"…I don't know."

His voice was low.

"But I want to find out."
