Chapter 136 - . sensed

136. Sensed

KYRON OUTSIDE THE DOOR — TRAUMA LOADING…

Kyron stood outside the master bedroom door, back pressed flat to the wall, breathing like he just ran a marathon barefoot on glass.

He dragged a hand down his face.

Kyron (whispering to himself, horrified):

"Sir was practically naked… SHE was practically kissing him… the TOWEL was— why… why is my life like this…?"

He covered his burning face.

His ears were red. His soul? Gone. His innocence? Permanently corrupted.

Kyron:

"I'm just an assistant… I wanted a simple life… salary, coffee, peace… NOT THIS GOD-LEVEL SPICY SOAP OPERA—"

He paced, flustered and dying inside.

Then suddenly—

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

A flashing red alert lit up on his tablet.

Kyron froze mid-panic.

Kyron:

"…surveillance disturbance?"

His brows furrowed.

"Near… Eleanor's room?"

Instant sobriety.

His blush evaporated. His fear turned into cold dread.

He sprinted.

---

SURVEILLANCE ROOM – ALARMING READINGS--

Kyron barged into the hall leading to Eleanor's sealed chamber.

The air here was different — always colder, always heavier, like grief soaked into the walls.

His tablet kept glitching.

Static. Distortion. Signal warping.

Kyron's heart dropped.

Kyron (terrified whisper):

"No… no, no, no… not again… please not again…"

He remembered the massacre. The screams. Eleanor collapsing like a puppet with its strings cut. The entity's shadow stretching across the hallway—

Before Marcelline appeared like a crimson storm and sealed it with a flick of her fingers.

He reached the door.

His breath hitched.MARCELLINE FEELS IT — EVERYTHING CHANGES

Inside the bedroom, the tension between her and Maximilian was reaching a breaking point—

until something inside Marcelline snapped.

Not visibly. Not loudly.

But Maximilian felt it —

her aura dropped from playful wickedness to something ancient, lethal, world-ending.

Her eyes unfocused for one breath.

Then sharpened like blades.

Marcelline (low, dangerous whisper):

"…it's breaking."

Maximilian's expression changed instantly.

The cold CEO was gone.

Maximilian:

" What?"

Marcelline didn't answer.

Her power unfurled like the draw of a deep ocean trench — silent, terrifying, impossible to comprehend.

Maximilian felt pressure build in the air, crushing and electric.

His heartbeat slowed. His skin prickled.

He'd seen her flirt. He'd seen her tease. He'd seen her play with danger like a cat with a mouse.

But this—as blinked his eyes

She disappeared..

Maximilian was stunned.

--

THE HALLWAY — CHAOS, FEAR, AND A FLICKER OF DEATH--

Kyron stood frozen near Eleanor's door, heart hammering, breath shaking.

The seal on the door — the only thing holding back the nightmare inside — flickered violently, like a dying star gasping its last breath.

CRACK.

Another fracture spread across the glowing rune.

Kyron stumbled back, panic flooding his face.

Kyron (shaking):

"No… no, no— Sir needs to know— the entity—"

But before he could finish—

A dark, vicious surge of aura exploded from behind the door.

Kyron screamed, covering his head, convinced he was about to die.

And then—

A soft thud of footsteps behind him.

A presence like velvet-shadow and moonlight.

But nothing dramatic. Nothing loud.

No wings. No divine thunder. No explosion of power.

Just…

That Devilish goddess.

Calm.

Quiet.

Eyes colder than he had ever seen.

Her aura didn't flare.

She didn't glow.

She didn't summon godlike power.

She simply stood there.

Yet something ancient and terrifying stirred in the air around her, invisible to ordinary eyes.

Kyron looked up, startled.

Kyron (whispering):

"Y–you… how did you… what are you doing here—?"

Marcelline didn't even look at him.

She observed the flickering seal with the precision of a surgeon and the silence of an assassin.

Her mind raced.

If she used real power, they would know.

If she didn't, Eleanor would explode like a vessel cracking under cosmic pressure.

Marcelline (thought):

If I fight it openly... they'll see.

If I leave it… she dies.

I don't have the luxury to reveal myself now.

She lifted her hand — just slightly —

and for a split second, the hallway felt like time stopped breathing.

Not magic.

Not divine force.

Just a subtle shift.

Her fingers traced the air in front of the broken seal, almost invisible to human perception.

A faint whisper of ancient script flared under her fingertips — so faint that Kyron saw nothing but a shimmer, like a trick of the light.

Marcelline whispered something in a language older than the stars.

The air shuddered.

The cracks in the seal froze.

Then—

SNAP.

Not breaking.

Healing.

Rebuilding.

Strengthening.

The rune brightened — softly, quietly — locking the entity back into silent paralysis.

Inside the room, the monstrous aura choked and retreated with a hiss of frustration.

Kyron gasped, stunned.

Kyron:

"D…did the security system fix itself? But the cameras were glitching— I don't—"

He was too panicked to notice the truth: The seal didn't fix itself.

She fixed it.

Marcelline finally turned her head toward him.

Not smiling. Not teasing. Just… neutral.

Cold.

Marcelline (softly, as if speaking to a child):

"You should stay away from this room.

The energy here isn't meant for humans."

Kyron swallowed hard.

Kyron:

"W-who are you…?"

Marcelline blinked once.

And then—

Her presence disappeared.

Not with a flash.

Not with a sound.

She simply stepped sideways into nothingness —

and vanished like she was never there.

Kyron's eyes widened in terror.

Kyron:

"…SIR?! SIR!!! THE WOMAN— SHE— SHE JUST— SHE—"

But when he turned to point…

She was gone.

No trace. No footprints. No aura. Nothing.

Just a stabilizing seal and silence.

BACK IN THE BEDROOM — MAXIMILIAN NOTICES THE ABSENCE

Maximilian had thrown on clothes in a rush, heart pounding, mind spinning from both her presence… and her sudden disappearance.

He walked fast through the room, muttering:

Maximilian (angry, breathless):

"She better not have gone near—"

But when he reached the hallway, Kyron almost collided with him.

Kyron (panicking):

"S–Sir… something— something happened— the disturbance— and—and— and SHE—"

Maximilian grabbed his shoulders, steadying him.

Maximilian (sharp):

"Where is she?"

Kyron looked around helplessly.

Kyron:

"I don't know— she was just— she was here— and then— then she disappeared— like thin air— like she slipped between— I DON'T KNOW!"

Maximilian's jaw clenched hard enough to crack.

He checked each corridor.

Each turn.

Each corner.

Nothing.

Not a hint of her presence.

Maximilian's voice dropped, low and dangerous:

Maximilian:

"…Why does she keep vanishing right when I need answers?"

His fists tightened.

She had appeared out of nowhere.

Teased him.

Tormented him.

Left him burning.

And now she saved his mother without a trace —

again without giving him a chance to ask anything.

Maximilian (soft growl):

"Who are you…?

And why can't I stop thinking about you?"

His eyes dropped to the faint wisp of lavender-scented air left behind.

The only proof she had ever been there.
