Chapter 28 - 028

Ishiki, a figure whose presence subtly defied the norms of this ancient era, had just concluded a pivotal meeting with the village Chief. He carried with him the echo of that exchange, a mix of the Chief's ingrained skepticism and Ishiki's own profound, private conviction.

"Ishiki," he'd said, the Chief's eyes narrowing, "your ideas sound like dreams, like the fantasies of a child."

The Chief's gaze had been laced with palpable disbelief, treating Ishiki's vision for the village's future, a future of organized power, structured infrastructure, and relative peace, as utterly impossible within the confines of their world's technology and societal divisions.

Ishiki merely offered a small, knowing smile. He understood. If I had been born in this era, without knowledge of the future or the means to bridge the impossible, he thought, I wouldn't believe it either.

But he was not of this world; he was a traveler from a time where such marvels were mundane. Crucially, he possessed the "System," an extraordinary asset that could turn the unimaginable into the inevitable.

After a final, respectful farewell and a casual promise to return for dinner, Ishiki departed the Chief's residence. His mission was now personal: a journey to the Naka River, the prearranged meeting spot.

The previous week's events weighed heavily on his mind.

The shock and tension were still thick in the air after the clandestine meeting of the two young clan heirs: Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju.

The Chief, like the rest of the village, had been completely unprepared for the bombshell the leaders of both the Senju and Uchiha clans, separated by a millennia-long blood feud, had converged on the small riverside village.

Ishiki's concern, however, focused on the two boys. Madara and Hashirama... their friendship, innocent and profound, was built on a foundation of blissful ignorance. The revelation that their closest friend belonged to the enemy clan had been a soul-shattering moment for both of them.

He hoped that the fallout would not be too severe, comforting himself with the thought that as the sons of their respective clan leaders, they would likely escape with little more than a harsh punishment.

Lost in these thoughts of the two budding legends, Ishiki arrived at the Naka River. The afternoon stretched on, becoming a long, tedious wait. Boredom soon gave way to a gnawing hunger.

Resourceful as ever, he decided to procure his own meal. Drawing his extraordinary "Combo Weapon," a multipurpose tool of his own design, he easily caught several plump fishes from the river.

As the sun began to dip, painting the sky in fiery hues, Ishiki lit a small fire and began the simple process of cooking his catch. The crackle of the flames was abruptly interrupted by the arrival of two small figures, approaching from opposite banks.

They were miniature, younger versions of his friends: Tobirama Senju and Izuna Uchiha, the younger brothers of Hashirama and Madara, respectively.

As they drew close and their eyes locked, the air instantly curdled with the bitter animosity of their clans.

Their youthful faces contorted with immediate, reflexive anger, and they braced themselves, ready to leap into a fight fueled by generations of hatred.

Ishiki instantly moved, standing between them. He reached out and grasped the heads of both boys, gently but firmly, using his hands as a physical barrier to halt their impending collision.

But these were no ordinary children. With surprising agility and force, both boys twisted free from his grasp, retreating a step to give themselves fighting space and instantly drawing their weapons.

Tobirama produced a razor-sharp kunai, while Izuna readied a handful of lethal shuriken.

Without warning or a word, they lunged at Ishiki.

Ishiki, anticipating this childish yet earnest attack, swiftly activated the Substitute Jutsu, escaping the immediate flurry of steel by teleporting a short distance away. He then drew his own unique Combo Weapon. The sight of it only seemed to fuel their rage.

They charged him again, attacking relentlessly. Ishiki, with an air of casual mastery, allowed his weapon to automatically defend against the rapid-fire strikes.

He smiled, a genuine, unconcerned expression, as he parried every blow, defending only, with absolutely no intention of retaliating.

"Why the sudden aggression, you brats?" he asked, deflecting a kunai with effortless grace.

Izuna screamed, his voice thick with injustice and fury. "Shut up! It's because of you my brother was punished!" He punctuated his accusation by flinging a shuriken directly at Ishiki's head.

Tobirama chimed in, equally incensed. "What did you say to Hashirama? Whatever it was, it made my father furious! He was punished, too!"

The pieces clicked into place for Ishiki. The boys were lashing out in defense of their older brothers, cementing their decision to continue their dangerous, forbidden friendship despite the consequences.

So, they've made their choice, he mused. They've chosen a difficult path. Then I need to prepare as well, and make myself stronger for the future.

Putting an end to the pointless skirmish, Ishiki executed a move of pure, playful humiliation.

He instantly deployed his "Infinite Lasso," a bizarre, unseen constraint that materialized and wrapped itself tightly around both Tobirama and Izuna, effortlessly binding them and hoisting them into the air.

He tied them to a sturdy tree trunk, facing each other.

"If you move even an inch, you'll kiss," Ishiki informed them with a wicked grin.

They struggled violently, desperately trying to pull away, but their efforts were self-defeating. The rope tautened, and their faces were forced together, resulting in an undeniable, accidental kiss.

A cacophony of enraged curses erupted.

"How dare you kiss me, you pike head!" Tobirama shrieked, red-faced.

"It was you who kissed me, you dumbass!" Izuna immediately retorted.

Suddenly, a booming laugh echoed through the clearing. It was Ishiki, doubled over with mirth.

Seeing the author of their humiliation, the two enraged brothers, in a moment of temporary, silent truce, shifted their combined, incandescent fury directly onto him.
