Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: I Will Launch One Super Powerful Attack

Parallel World.

"Hmm, Amber get." Silver Wolf looked at Amber joining the party and introduced her to the stream viewers. "Friendly reminder from the streamer: Amber can be kept in the party, but it's not recommended to invest resources into leveling her up."

"Because after you invest resources, you'll find that most of the time you bring her out is for puzzle-solving needs."

"For archers, I personally recommend building Fischl. For Pyro characters, Diluc, Bennett, Xiangling, and Klee in the second-half banner are all more suitable for starting out."

"Of course, this is just the streamer's personal opinion, for reference only. If you really like Amber, the streamer has no objections."

[Wolfie's game understanding has always been on point.]

[Although Wolfie sometimes can't handle losing, at least she doesn't give bad advice.]

[That may be true, but I'm willing to dedicate my heart to Amber!]

"Alright, digression over. Let's continue with the story. Don't want to stream all afternoon and not even finish the Chapter 1 main quest." After saying this, Silver Wolf skillfully controlled Lumine and Amber to clear out the Hilichurl camp.

Just as she was about to charge into Mondstadt City, she was surprised to find that entering the city gate triggered a cutscene.

"New story again?" Silver Wolf picked up the cola on the table and took a couple more sips before seriously watching the cutscene.

Lumine: "Amber, you…"

Amber: "No…"

Lumine: "Is that so…"

Amber: "But…"

[Is Lumine looking for Jun Bai?]

[The detail handling in this new story is better than in the closed beta. A simple conversation shows Mondstadt's tense situation due to Stormterror.]

[This is handled quite well. The original story made it seem like Mondstadt was letting strangers come and go freely even during a crisis.]

Afterward, the quest guide directed Silver Wolf to find the knight responsible for registration at the city gate.

Knight: "There was indeed such a person, though I don't know if it's the same one you're referring to."

Then the screen darkened, the perspective shifted to the knight's side, and the people in front of the knight changed from Lumine, Paimon, and Amber to a white-haired, red-eyed youth.

Silver Wolf's eyes widened: "miHoYo, you've really outdone yourselves! There's even a flashback perspective!"

[!]

[Immersion +10%]

[Husband Jun Bai is so handsome!!!]

In the scene, Jun Bai was registering to enter the city.

"I'm here to visit two old friends."

"Please state the names and general descriptions of your friends. The Knights will verify with residents in the city who match the description."

Jun Bai pretended to ponder and said: "Of the two I wish to visit, one isn't convenient to disclose information about. The other is a bard named Venti."

"From what I know, he often recites poetry and composes songs under the Statue of The Seven in front of the Favonius Cathedral, and sometimes he can be found at the Angel's Share."

The flashback perspective ended, and the screen returned to normal.

"Jun Bai actually knows Venti!" Silver Wolf was very surprised by this plot development.

As a closed beta tester, she knew Venti's identity very well.

It seems the role played by this unexpected character Jun Bai in the story is quite extraordinary.

[This flashback perspective contains a huge amount of information.]

[Hiss—Jun Bai knows Venti. Combined with the line he left when he departed, could the other person he wants to visit be Dvalin?]

[Upstairs, don't say it, you really shouldn't say it. The more you say it, the more likely it seems.]

After gathering information, Lumine, Paimon, and Amber entered Mondstadt City.

During this, Amber also gave Lumine a Wind Glider as a gift from the Knights.

Just then, the dragon crisis descended. A sudden hurricane carried Lumine, who had just received the Wind Glider, into the sky.

A mysterious voice appeared, aided by the thousand-year flowing winds. The Traveler from another world battled the dragon tormenting the city of freedom.

The aerial combat CG was well done, but Silver Wolf had to be honest: the actual combat part lacked gameplay experience; it was just shooting while chasing Stormterror.

It lacked interactivity and engagement, and the special effects during shooting were quite perfunctory.

But considering the scale of Genshin Impact, Silver Wolf felt she could overlook such minor details.

"Friends, this part is very simple. Just hold down the attack button and aim at the targeting reticle marked by the system. No difficulty at all."

"Then here, just take off half its health, and it will—"

Before Silver Wolf finished speaking, she stared at the darkened screen, lost in thought.

Had she only taken off a quarter of Stormterror's health bar?

So, new story again?

...

Jun Bai flapped his fiery wings, landing on the walls of Mondstadt City. His gaze followed the human and dragon locked in fierce combat in the sky. "Is this the Anemo Archon and his familiar's ultimate control over the Anemo element? Mere mortals simply can't keep up."

Even though Jun Bai was now an Archon, he could only barely keep up with the two figures fighting in the air.

Of course, this was partly because Jun Bai hadn't yet recovered the "prime strength" from his background.

But this was enough to show just how fast Lumine, aided by the Anemo Archon, and Dvalin were flying. Indeed, reality is reality, and the game is the game.

"At that speed, if you're not a Vision holder, you'd probably only see two meteors constantly colliding in the sky."

[If you truly possessed the strength from your background, catching up to Dvalin wouldn't be a problem. There's still a gap between an Archon's familiar and an Archon.]

"Feels like you're tricking me into completing my background," Jun Bai chuckled lightly.

Jun Bai stood on the city wall, watching Lumine gradually gain the upper hand in the aerial battle. Then he spread his fiery wings, released his Archon's pressure, took a deep breath, and said, "Dvalin, stop!"

His voice wasn't loud, yet it accurately reached the ears of the human and dragon engaged in combat.

Lumine instinctively turned her head and saw the figure standing on the city wall, backed by fiery wings.

"It's him? Dvalin… is that Stormterror's name?" Countless thoughts raced through Lumine's mind, but the attacks she unleashed didn't stop.

Dvalin looked toward Jun Bai's direction amidst the "hail of arrows and rain of bullets." A trace of clarity returned to its eyes, but soon, that trace was once again swallowed by madness.

It roared, the violent winds intensifying their rampage. Buildings within Mondstadt City began to collapse.

"System!" Jun Bai called out in his mind.

As agreed beforehand, the system automatically deducted 2,000 Popularity Points.

1,000 Popularity Points were used to protect the residents of Mondstadt City. Crimson Pyro energy transformed into a protective film, settling on every citizen of Mondstadt.

And the other 1,000 Popularity Points…

Jun Bai summoned the White Tassel. Flowing flames slowly coiled around the tip of the spear.

"Since you're unwilling to stop, then I have no choice but to use some special means to force you to stop."

…would be used to launch one attack.
