Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Taking Lumine Through the Plot

"You... have seen my brother?" Lumine's eyes widened, her voice filled with excitement. If not for the table between them, she might have rushed straight at Jun Bai. "Then, can you tell me where he is now?"

She never expected to find a lead about her brother so soon.

Jun Bai shook his head expressionlessly. "I don't know. I'm looking for his whereabouts myself right now."

A faint sense of unease rose in Lumine's heart. After hesitating, she asked, "Um... may I ask, what is your relationship with my brother? And what business do you have with him?"

Jun Bai looked at Lumine meaningfully, revealing a gentle smile. "In a certain sense, we are enemies. Since we're enemies, my reason for seeking him out naturally isn't a friendly one."

Her brother's enemy? Lumine's body instantly tensed, ready to draw her Dull Blade and fight at any moment.

"Calm down. If I intended to fight, I wouldn't have sat down in front of you."

Jun Bai gestured with one hand for Lumine to sit back down. "The enmity between me and your brother isn't severe enough to implicate others. Moreover, it's due to special circumstances that I bear a grudge against him."

Lumine's expression softened slightly, though her guard remained. "Special circumstances?"

"Your brother is the [Prince] of the [Abyss], and the Abyss is the enemy of Teyvat. That's all there is to it." Jun Bai met Lumine's gaze, his crimson eyes deep. "If your brother were like you — just a traveler from another world — I would welcome him. But he chose to involve himself with the Abyss."

"That alone makes us enemies."

The amount of information in that statement was overwhelming. It took Lumine a while to process everything and realize one thing:

It seemed her brother had made enemies of the entire world.

"Of course, this is just my personal view; it doesn't represent others. So for now, I am your brother's only confirmed enemy." Jun Bai added.

Lumine let out a small breath of relief, but when she looked at the calm Jun Bai, she felt it might still be too early to relax.

She had witnessed this person's strength not long ago.

The Stormterror she could barely fight had been repelled by this man in a single strike. His strength was definitely not low.

If he and her brother were enemies, did that mean she might have to face him one day? Lumine didn't know — and for the moment, she didn't need to.

For now, she pushed that question aside and asked, "If that's all, you could've just said you were enemies. But you said you were sworn enemies."

Enemies can be a matter of position, but sworn enemies? That's much more complicated.

Jun Bai fell silent for a moment, then said, "Let's not dwell on that topic. I want to know now — what business do you have with the Anemo Archon?"

Paimon and Lumine exchanged glances. Finally, Paimon explained, "Lumine and her brother were separated by an unknown god. We thought the Anemo Archon might know something."

"Is that so..." Jun Bai pretended to ponder. "So, in order to find your family, you plan to seek out The Seven?"

"How did you know?" Paimon exclaimed.

Lumine looked at Paimon speechlessly.

How did he know? You literally just told him.

"In that case, how about a deal?" Jun Bai crossed his arms, his gaze intense. "You assist me."

"In return, I can introduce you to the Anemo and Geo Archons among The Seven, and tell you everything I know about your brother..."

"Wait, isn't this development a bit sudden?" Paimon waved her hands, intending to refuse.

"...plus one million Mora." Jun Bai added.

"How much? One million?!" Paimon exclaimed, immediately doing mental math.

"Please, let me assist you!" Lumine said with sudden firmness.

...

Guinaifen's Livestream.

"Ah~ Jun Bai is so handsome even with black hair!" Guinaifen swooned over the black-haired version of Jun Bai.

[Not just the hair color — he changed his clothes too. MiHoYo really made two models for the same character?]

[Probably like alternate outfits in Honkai Impact 3rd.]

[By the way, why did Jun Bai change his appearance?]

[Probably to avoid attracting attention. His features are way too distinctive.]

Lumine: "You... have seen my brother?..."

Jun Bai: "I don't know..."

"Eh? So my husband knows my brother?"

[LOL Guinaifen inserting herself into the story to claim a husband.]

[Good thing she chose Lumine and not Aether.]

"..."

Jun Bai: "In a certain sense, we are enemies."

[Huh?]

[HUH??]

[Is this the villain confronting us directly?]

"Ah! Husband is my brother's enemy? No way! Can I abandon my brother and switch sides?" Guinaifen immediately took Jun Bai's side.

But after reading the full dialogue, she realized things weren't quite what she assumed.

"So the actual situation is that Jun Bai has a grudge with my brother, but putting my brother's position aside, Jun Bai and I are still on the same side." Guinaifen sighed with relief.

"It's good that I don't have to oppose Husband Jun Bai."

[You don't have to oppose him NOW, but later you'll be torn between your brother and your husband.]

[Brother? Sorry, I'm single, so don't try to drive a wedge between me and my husband.]

[Did no one notice the one million Mora reward?? I want to know if that's real.]

[Same. Closed beta players still have Mora trauma.]

[Story-wise, he might really give it, but not necessarily in the actual game. Old Mi loves restricting player resources.]

[Also — the Millelith is like Liyue's version of the Knights, right? Can someone from there casually drop a million Mora and know the Archons?]

"Eh, someone who can repel Stormterror with one strike can't be ordinary. That Millelith identity is obviously just his cover for traveling. His real identity must be insanely high-ranking."

Guinaifen had fully transformed into a relentless "Jun Bai fan."

But to be fair, she wasn't completely wrong.

Jun Bai's true identity was indeed very important — but the Millelith identity wasn't fake. It was legitimate; it was just that his position was… somewhat high up.

Following the quest marker, Guinaifen controlled her character to enter Angel's Share.

[Jun Bai leads you into Angel's Share and walks straight toward a green-clad youth slumped over a table.]

Jun Bai (shaking): "Venti, Venti, wake up."

Venti (sound asleep): "zZZ… zZZ…"

Jun Bai (kicks the chair): "Get up!"

Venti (still asleep): "zZZ… zZZ… zZZ…"

Paimon (hesitantly): "Jun Bai, your friend seems to be sleeping soundly. Maybe we should come back tomorrow?"

Jun Bai: "No need. He's pretending — he's just good at it."

Jun Bai (pretending to be angry): "Venti, if you don't get up now, I'm taking back the money I gave you for drinks."

Venti (sits up instantly, horrified): "Don't you dare!"

Jun Bai: "See? Told you."

Lumine: …

Paimon: …
