Chapter 50: Great Might Divine Departure!

Three days had passed since the forest fire.
The explosion caused by Chen Chen and the arson committed by Chen Yu had attracted a carpet search by the border guards.
Metal detectors hummed and military dogs barked in the forest for two full days.
On the edge of the burnt zone, the masked man huddled in a crevice within the rock formations.
He had barely evaded the search by using his More-More Fruit to create underground vine tunnels.
Only on the morning of the third day, when the alert aura in the forest completely dissipated, did he dare to poke his head out.
He opened his palm. Three grey-green seeds sprouted instantly, turning into tiny spores that drifted with the wind.

He leaped out of the rock crevice, vines automatically paving a hidden path for him. His speed was several times faster than before.

On the clearing, several carcasses of Third Order (Low) beasts lay around Chen Yu.
After days of rest, Chen Yu's strength had recovered to its peak.
"Finally here."
Chen Yu stood up, holding his sword, looking into the depths of the forest.
The masked man emerged at the edge of the clearing, only to find Chen Yu waiting for him.
Seeing the carcasses of the Third Order beasts, his pupils shrank slightly, but he quickly sneered.
"You knew I was coming?"
"You're a professional assassin, and the Misty Forest is your home field. I can't hide."
"Foolish." The masked man mocked. "You don't even understand the concept of avoiding the sharp edge."
"You want me to avoid your edge?" Chen Yu raised an eyebrow. Conqueror's Haki quietly spread out, pressing down the surrounding wild grass.
Black Armament Haki wrapped from his arm to the tip of Ace. "We'll see who kills whom."
The masked man clenched his pale green sword and threw out dozens of seeds.
WHOOSH!
Dozens of vines erupted from the soil, glaring at Chen Yu like venomous snakes.
"Who kills whom?" The masked man laughed as if he heard a joke.
"You think killing a few low-level Third Order beasts means you can beat me, a Peak Apprentice?"
He raised his left hand. The vines roared through the air, aiming to bind Chen Yu's limbs.
"Viper Bind!" The thorns on the vines glowed green—poisoned.
Chen Yu tapped his toe. Moonwalk! He stepped into the air to dodge, simultaneously swinging his sword to unleash an arc of fire.
"Flame Slash!" The blazing sword energy charred the vines black, but didn't completely sever them.
The masked man controlled the vines to regenerate rapidly. In the blink of an eye, they wove into an airtight net, crashing down from above.
"Tornado!" Chen Yu took a deep breath. The green wind around him suddenly turned violent.
A pale green pillar of wind shot into the sky, shredding the vine net and carrying his body straight toward the masked man.
A cluster of flames suddenly rose on Ace, then grew massive in the wind.
"Dragon Flame!" Chen Yu swung Ace, stabbing straight for the heart.
The masked man was prepared. He blocked with his green sword. CLANG! Both were knocked back by the impact.
Chen Yu's hand went numb. The masked man used the recoil to throw another handful of seeds.
"Ironwood Spear!"
The seeds grew upon touching the ground, instantly turning into dozens of hard wooden spears shooting at Chen Yu.
Chen Yu's pupils shrank. Too late to dodge. He crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"Iron Body: Shield!"
BANG!!
The wooden spears smashed into his arms. Drilling pain nearly pierced his Armament Haki.
Chen Yu's eyes turned vicious. Conqueror's Haki erupted again.
The masked man froze for a split second. Chen Yu seized the chance, flashing behind him, his blade wrapped in wind.
"Demolition Gust: Tearing Slash!"
The masked man reacted fast, turning to block, but the wind pressure numbed his arm.
"Peak Apprentice? Your swordsmanship is trash!"
Chen Yu sneered. He went all out, his footwork shifting as sword shadows fell like meteors.
The masked man was losing ground. Gritting his teeth, he retreated violently and slammed both hands onto the ground.
"More-More Fruit: Giant Tree Descent!"
The ground shook violently. A giant tree, ten meters tall, burst from the earth outside the Outpost.
Thick roots lashed at Chen Yu's legs. The canopy blotted out the sun, plunging the space into darkness.

"Good thing you're not Hashirama Senju," Chen Yu's voice came from the darkness.
Immediately after, pale green wind wrapped in flames formed a vortex around him.
"Azure Dragon: Wind-Fire Spiral!" The vortex grew larger, shredding the attacking roots and rushing toward the giant tree.
BOOM! The vortex slammed into the tree. The trunk was instantly charred, but it didn't fall.
The masked man was still channeling his fruit ability, constantly regenerating the tree.
Chen Yu frowned. He could feel his energy draining rapidly, yet the effect was minimal. If this continued, he would be exhausted while the opponent barely broke a sweat.
"As expected, it's not enough."
A Trainee (Rank 2) fighting an Apprentice (Rank 3) was too forced.
Chen Yu stopped his offensive and opened distance. He took a deep breath, pushing his Haki and Fruit ability to the absolute limit.

The blade began to glow hot—Pale Green, Crimson Red, Deep Purple. Three colors intertwined, emitting the buzzing sound of electricity.
The masked man was terrified. That power made his legs tremble.
He tried to control the giant tree to attack first, but he was a step too late.
"Great Might... DIVINE DEPARTURE!"
Chen Yu swung the sword violently.
A massive slash of three-colored energy roared out, tearing the atmosphere apart as it slashed toward the giant tree and the masked man.
Where the sword energy passed, the air distorted. The trunk of the giant tree was severed instantly, the cross-section smoking black.
The masked man wanted to dodge, but he was locked in place by the pressure of the attack.
His pale green sword snapped in two.
The slash grazed his chest, leaving a wound so deep bone was visible.
The energy didn't stop. It shaved a bald patch through the forest ahead of Chen Yu before shooting into the sky and dispersing.
"Impossible... How can a Low Trainee..."
The masked man clutched his chest, blood gushing between his fingers. His body slowly collapsed, eyes full of unwillingness.
He died without understanding how someone two ranks below him could unleash such power.
Chen Yu leaned on Ace, gasping for air.
The Armament Haki on his body faded. He stumbled, nearly falling.
Forcibly fusing three elements with Conqueror's Haki placed too much burden on the body. The Hybrid Form was also a massive drain on stamina.
His head felt like it was being pricked with needles, and his body was as soft as noodles.
Weakness spread like a tide to every corner of his body. Chen Yu couldn't hold on any longer and fell backward.
